Chapter 126: Chapter 126

Rodney seeing that they had stood knew that they were ready to leave. He went out first to where he had parked the car he had rented for this purpose. He had intentionally not come with his own car.

He drove close to where he saw the young man park his own car so that what he had in mind would be easily achieved.

He left the car on and waited with a hood hiding his face.

Alfred and Nancy left the place holding hands and smiling at each other like great friends but Jason who was staring at them felt that they were looking and smiling at each other like lovers who could not wait to get under each other's pants.

He had a murderous glint in his eye.

'Not on my watch!' he thought to himself. He was going to make sure Alfred took Nancy home this instant. They were not going to go anywhere else if he had anything to say about it.

Being so occupied, he did not notice anything amiss. His focus was just on the couple he was guarding.

As Alfred opened the door to Nancy and she was about to step into the car, Alfred felt a hefty shove from no where and staggered, holding on to a car for support.

That was all the time the intruder needed. He pulled Nancy away in a rush into a waiting car and sped off.

Jason felt that he was dreaming.

What had just happened? He had expected this to happen and yet at that point he had not really expected it. He had been concentrating on something else but he recovered very quickly. Quicker than Alfred, checked if he was okay and quickly got into his car and drove after the fleeing car.

Alfred also recovered feeling dazed and not knowing exactly what had happened, he had not been expecting any attack of any sort.

He went into his car as well and drove after Jason.

As he drove, he remembered Jason saying something about Nancy being in danger earlier that evening when they had been about to leave for their date.

At that time, he had thought that he was just being cautious. He knew now we hy he had been so anxious.

But Nancy had not told him anything and he had not bothered to ask.

Now he had got Nancy into danger. Were they ever going to get her back safely?

Jason kept cursing and he drove like a made man after the fleeing car.

His heart thumping with panic.

He was not going to allow the person to escape if he could help it but Rodney had prepared for this and swayed from one lane to the other, overtaking cars.

Determined not to be caught.

He rough driving was affecting Nancy who had just eaten. She felt whimsy. She was going to be sick.

Rodney drove into a path, there was another car waiting for him there. He quickly got out and dragged Nancy into the car, started it and drove off.

By the time, Jason finished dodging cars and got there, they were gone and there was just the abandoned car.

He stopped the car, thinking that they were inside, he too toed to the car, just in case the mad man had a gun with him but he found nothing and no one in the car.

They could not have gone too far, he thought and search the surroundings but there was no trace of the masked man nor Nancy.

He placed his hands on his head, feeling defeated.

Where was he going to go in search of them? His best bet had been to see them, to catch the man but the man had definitely planned this and was no novice.

He knew that Rodney was behind this but what evidence did he have to prove to all that Rodney was behind Nancy's abduction?

He was there when Alfred drove into the path and stopped beside his car.

'Thank goodness you caught him. Where is Nancy?'

Jason did not respond. He held Alfred responsible for all that had happened. If he had not taken Nancy out, then all this would not have happened.

He felt like hitting something or someone.

He considered the fact that Nancy was equally to blame. Alfred had not really been aware of the danger looming over her head but Nancy had been well aware and yet had decided to walk into the danger and now he felt helpless, not knowing the next line of action to take.

'She is not here!' he said accusingly.

Jason barely restrained himself.

'I can see that. We're you not supposed to protect her? You did a very good job of it'. Jason said wanting something to lash out on.

'And were you not there to keep an eye on her? You came on our date with us with the singular purpose of enduring her safety, did you do a better job? Instead you were consumed by jealousy and lost your focus'.

Jason started at Alfred for a long time.

'No need quarrelling over this. While we are here quarrelling, the idiot is getting farther and farther from us', Jason said re entering his car and choosing to ignore the comment Alfred had made.

'I better come with you. There really is no need driving my own car. Let me quickly park it out of the way so that it does not cause any obstructions'.

Alfred did that and entered the car of the very impatient Jason and without knowing for sure where they were going, they followed the direction, they feel the car carrying Nancy must have taken.

Jason knew that the chase was useless now. The masked man had lost them just as he had intended but he just could not give up just yet.

They drove and drove and it was as they were driving round in circles but did nothing t see anything suspicious. The fact was that even if they saw the new car the man had switched to, they would not have known because they did not see him do the switch.

Jason knew this but he just wanted to be a tive because not being that would cause him to lose his mind.
