Chapter 35: Chapter 35

After his initial meeting with her, he started realizing that he could not use her for revenge no. Even his desire for revenge started waning. While he had initiated the purchase of shares from Lisa's father's company, he had come to stop it all when after going out with Lisa for two months he realized that he could not go on with the plan. He was deeply and irrevocably in love. He even planned to tell her the things and strive for a pure relationship.

And then Lucas had happened and everything else had become just a blur. It was his fault for going to her with the intention of revenge, yes, but he had already stopped it. They had just come from a trip together where they had spent a long steamy weekend to be met with the news. The company had been bought out. The mortgage was eating them alive. One moment and he knew what had happened. Lisa could not believe it and she turned to him while shaking her head. That was not true. It couldn't be true.

Why, was the only question she asked as she rushed to the company? It wasn't me she had found at the company, that had been Lucas. Her father had fainted and was on the ground. And then there were the reporters who had sprung out of nowhere. She went and slapped him yet Lucas looked at her with so much disgust it was disheartening. “That is what you get for messing up with us. You had to pay.”

She was again asked what she had done. She still could not understand because she was innocent and she did not know how she had wronged them. Everything was all wrong. Omar had to forget about the ring that was burning in his trouser pocket. He had ruined everything. Why had he sought revenge in the first place? The reasons all now looked so stupid. There was nothing as gut-rending as watching Lisa break down. Then her father got into a coma and guilt was killing him. He was guilty in all of this as Lucas was. He had started it.

Omar could feel the beginning of a migraine and he sat inside the car not moving. Seeing him today brought so many memories. It showed what a cheat he was and how he didn't deserve her forgiveness. Yet his heart stubbornly held onto hope that they could work out. Who was he kidding? He had never moved on, and he had not been able to apologize in the right way. It was as if every turn he made was wrong. Was it all going to end before it had even begun?

Lisa walked to Marya’s room and seeing her continue to get better made her realize that she had truly made the right decision. Yet visions of Omar kept appearing in her mind. Of their passion and the way, it would break him to realize that he had a daughter and he had not known. Sometimes in her mind, she found it difficult to picture the Omar that had hurt her and the Omar she had dated. They were two very different people.

Sighing she took a hold of Marya’s hand. Her tiny hand was totally encased in her own big ones. The freckles marrying her face looked more pronounced as she slept there. Her blue eyes for now were lost under her sockets as she had been sedated for quite a while. Yet her steady heartbeat made her feel relieved. Her baby was going to get all better. However, she did not know how she would separate her marriage life from Marya’s life. She was scared of introducing a man to her life only to have him go in a few months and at the same time, she knew six months was a long period to stay without Omar knowing about Marya.

She could only hope that she eventually introduced them and even though they might separate. She wanted to believe that Omar would still father her. That Marya would not experience any rejection. Her mind ran around with possibilities all around. Sighing she felt tired and yawned. Her eyes were already closing up within a short while and she was well on her way to slumberland, beside her baby girl.

From a crack in the door, Lisa's father watched her as she slept. Watching her daughter look so tired was making his heartbreak. She had been behaving strangely and to be honest he had felt worried and so he had decided to follow her to wherever that place was. So, you could imagine his shock when she entered Omar's building. He still could not fathom nor understand what she was doing with him. Was she being blackmailed by the man? Is that why she had accompanied him for lunch? Because his mind did not show any other plausible explanation as to why the two of them would be seen together.

Silently he took a blanket and placed it on her and then left. It was making him hurt seeing her go through so much pain. Even now she still was his little girl. Whoever said that children ever outgrew being children to their parents? He then walked away and locked the door behind him.

Meeting Rosetta, they sat for some coffee in a cafe. Rosetta was the woman he had definitely been waiting for and even though they were a little older, he believed that the god of love had smiled upon him. She made him a better person. She was now his whole apart from of course where it concerned his daughter Lisa and granddaughter.

“I followed her.”

“What?” Rosette asked as she looked at him. “I thought we agreed that Lisa was a big girl and you should not interfere with her life.”

“Come on, I was worried. Can you blame me, she had been looking so worried and tired. And then she had been acting all secretly. And I found out that she is somehow with Omar, the very same one who ruined my business and my daughter’s life. To be honest, I can’t help the gnawing feeling in my heart that there is more to this than meets the eyes. I am worried that she could be blackmailed. Besides, where did he get the money needed for the surgery.”

“Seriously, don’t worry I will talk to her. it can’t be all that bad.”

“Okay, then I will listen to you. By the way, I was thinking if we could start over here and then go to Hawaii for our holidays and vacations. I somehow realized that I had missed staying with my daughter nearby. And also, I missed this city even though it was where all the bad things happened. But then I got Lisa and every other bad memory paled to her. would you be okay with staying with me here?”

“Of come on honey, you know that I will be with you wherever you are. And then we can at least get to spend even more time with our daughter and granddaughter.”

“Thank you very much, Rosetta, for loving me and coming into my life. I now realize all that I had missed in my life and how I wish I had met you earlier. And maybe losing my business wasn’t all that bad. At least I got to meet the love of my life don’t you think.”

“Ha-ha, you are very right. What do you say today we sleep in a hotel, I have missed you and somehow, it would not feel right doing the kind of thing I want to do at lexis's place?”

“Oh baby, what do you have planned for us? Now I am intrigued and want to know it all. Spicy and sweet, bring it all.”

“Ha-ha look at you all naughty. If your daughter knew how naughty you are she would disown you.”

“I’m only naughty for my Rosetta love, so it does not matter how naughty I sound. I love you, baby.”

“Aww, I love you too Hun.” Said as he kissed her lightly on her forehead and hugged her.

“Do you know sometimes I feel responsible for the way Lisa’s love life has turned out? This was because growing up she never saw what real love looked like. Her mom and I use to fight nearly every day, and I’m ashamed to say that I wasn’t as good. How I pray that she could find a good man that could make her as happy as you make me.”

“Relax Hun, she will, you never give up on love, it comes in when you least expect it.”

“I know, after all, didn’t I meet you when I’m already an old man? And by the way, do you think I should confront Omar?”

“Ha-ha yes, I met an old man who I liked and fell in love with.” She said as she held in the laughter bubbling just within. “And no, leave them be, and don’t you dare confront Lisa about it, she will tell you when she is ready.”

“Heey, you can’t say I am an old man, besides, don’t I always work you out well.” He said with a dirty wink.

“Ha-ha yes, my man cannot be old, not with the way your mind is dirty, even my heart is ashamed for you.”

“Heey you can’t say that. I’m only naughty with you. Baby, since I found you, I found love and I want to treasure it. I want to only treasure you.”

Looking at him, Rosetta felt her heart thump and her face go red. He was shameless but so was he loving. His words most of the time made her teary. “I love you, hun.”

“I know you do. I love you too. And now let’s go, I simply cannot wait to devour you.” He said as he started grinding on her in a totally uncouth way.

“Even with all these wrinkles and fat?”

“Even with all of those, I love you very much.”

“Ha-ha okay, though get your hands off me and start behaving yourself,” Rosetta said with a dirty look at him.
