Chapter 34: Chapter 34
And then she had snaked her fingers on his hair and by the time they stopped, his breath came in short gasps, while she matched him, her chest rising and falling quickly. Her lips looked red and thoroughly kissed. Like they were begging him to kiss them. If they had not stopped now, and reason reasserted itself, he would have torn her clothes and had her there.
Legs trembling, still lost in the exquisite feel of his lips. Her heart was thumping. Was all that just for Mr. Qin, and how was she going to survive this marriage like that? A single kiss had burned through her, making her legs go jelly and her core quiver with desire. Goodness, what the hell had she gotten herself into?
On the other hand, Omar took some time outside. Trying to take in deep breaths to offset the fire that was burning within him. Goodness, he had been in a constant semi-arousal state for as long as she was around but now, he was as hard as steel and he knew that the only way this could go away was a cold shower. Goodness, if blue balls didn't kill him, he didn't know what would.
Getting inside he started the car and she told him to drop her at her workplace. it had been long since she had gone there. Thankfully there was tony bless him, who was holding the fort down for her. Omar's near closeness made her want to escape. The emotions that usually consumed her when it concerned Omar were just too intense. When they arrived at her place, she started running off before Omar took her hand in his.
“Thank you for today. You were amazing.” He said as his eyes sparkled as they looked at her.
“It's no biggie, after all my work is to charm them isn't it,” she said in a self-deprecating tone.
“I know, but I still want to thank you. Now, do you want me to pick you up in the evening, then go grab some dinner?”
“I'm sorry but I have plans for today's day Omar. Can we plan that for another day?”
“Why where are you going after work.”
“Nowhere, I just want to be by myself for a while.”
Getting inside the car, Omar sped off from the place though he could not help but have a niggling feeling that she was hiding something from him. If yesterday he had been curious, today he was damn well determined to follow her. He wanted to know her secret. So, he packed his car a distance from the shop and then came back on legs. he sat at the coffee shop and ordered a cup of latte.
Watching from this location, he could observe the going in and going out of customers. It felt silly doing that but he wanted to.

Lisa walked in to find Lexi and Anthony in a deep conversation such that they had not heard her get in. Wow, what could be going she asked herself as she moved near them. Just before getting to the reception, Lexi turned around and on seeing her broke into a wide smile.
“Finally, my baby girl has decided to show up damn. I've been waiting for you for like ages.”
“Ha-ha sorry you waited for so long. Why didn't you call me when you didn't find me?”
“Ummh, I didn't think of that?”
“Okay so let's go Inside my office so that we can dissect whatever is worrying you,” Lisa said as she raised an eyebrow at her and then winked.
“Great. Lexi said as her face flushed red with embarrassment.”
“Oh, by the way, how's you, Anthony... Sorry, I left this place to you just like that. I'll handle some of the work before I leave today.”
“It's okay boss, besides there wasn't a lot of work.”
“Great then please bring me an update of events we have planned and also their files.”
Lexi and Lisa walked into the office and each settled down.
“So, how are you holding up,” Lexi asked tentatively while watching Lisa’s face.
“I'm doing very fine thank you, baby girl. And by the way, what's with your dress...in my entire life, I have never seen Lexi on a dress.”
Laughing nervously, she pushed her hair beyond her ear. “I just wanted to try it out.”
“Really Lexi, why do I feel like there is something you are hiding from me?” Lisa said with a wink.
“Ha-ha like what now Lisa,”
“Like you might be dressing up because of a certain man,” Lisa said as she winked conspiracy at her.
“No way, you know I don't care about men besides why are asking the questions here. And stop that damn winking, it looks like there’s a problem with your eyes.’ Lexi aid as she rolled her eyes. ‘Now it's you, where are coming from looking so polished.’
‘Ummh ...I had some business outside.’
‘Oh, really Lisa, a client. By the way, how are you doing and why did you move out.’
‘Come on Lexi, I told you I got a well-paying job and I already signed a contract for six months and afterward I'll move closer to you.’
‘Are you sure it wasn't something I did?”
“Yes Lexi, how could you think like that? You know you are my best friend, but I still need to move out at some point, don't I?”
“I guess so. Then I'll leave to go check on Marya. She has already been moved from the intensive care and is now in her own ward. When will you be coming over?”
“Immediately I'm done going through all this work so I can schedule everything. Would please tell tony to bring me the files on your way out.”
“Making a pout, she made a point of standing. Such a direct way of getting rid of me.” Turning to her she pointed two fingers to her eyes and then at Lisa. “I may be gone now, but I'm still watching you.”
“Ha-ha Lexi, you can keep watching.”
Behind the locked door, she massaged her neck, looking at the amount of work that had piled up. While that gave her a short while to start working. Some of the events were smaller like birthdays and graduations, but it still worked. Finally finishing everything she got up and walked out of the building, leaving tony a set of keys. “Please lock up when you are done tony.”

Across the street seated while having some coffee was Omar and the minute, he saw Lisa coming out, he waited until she had gotten into a cab before his assistant brought his car to the place. Getting in he started following the car a few paces behind. They only drove for a short while before stopping at a large hospital. What was going on? Was this where Lisa kept coming to all this while? Was her father still sick or what had really happened? Was this why she had agreed to marry him and why she took that money?
Now he felt like a brute though he got out of the car. He still wanted to find out what was going on but before he could even enter the hospital, he received a call from his sister, and she was hysterically crying demanding that he goes. On many occasions, they had used those same tricks but he always went because he never knew what was true. Torn between following Lisa for just a while longer or going home made stand there until Lisa had disappeared around the corner.
Turning, Omar started walking back to his car. Starting It he went back to the house where he bathed and decided to dress casually with a pair of jeans and a polo shirt. Putting on his shoes, he moved to his parent's house. He had also missed them despite setting him up with unwanted dates.
When he got there, his sister welcomed him with a sly smile which made him know there was something they were hiding. Following him into the house, he realized that they had already cooked before he got there. He hugged his mom who came from the kitchen. In their dining room, there was one more place and when he asked about it, they said they had a surprise.
Just as they had seated. The skin around Omar's neck tingled and he abruptly turned back. There, stood Lucas his brother, who was supposed to still be in the hospital.
“Hi, brother I'm back,” Lucas said as he moved to hug him. Omar felt speechless for the first time. What in the name of the Lord had they done? Lucas was home and without telling him. Had they so quickly forgotten what had gone on or were they just pretending? Heart pounding, feet stuck on the ground, Lucas came near him and hugged him. This had to be untrue. They could not betray him like that, no way. Omar did not want to deal with all that at the time.
Sitting back on the chair woodenly, he stared at his mom. “What the hell is going home mom.”
“Well, we got Lucas back because he is doing well. Don't tell me you are not happy to see your brother.”
“Really mom, and why didn't you guys inform me earlier.”
“Because you might have refused.”
“Okay, I think my dinner will have to end here for now mom. Let the shock wear off please.” With that, he stood up and moved out feeling nauseous. Damn his family really had guts. Was Lucas even well? Besides, he could not forget what had gone down. How his relationship had gone sour with Lisa and how they had nearly killed Lisa's father. Then he realized how twisted and dark his brother was. So, forgive him if he felt betrayed that he was back and without his acknowledgment.
Taking deep breaths, he moved to his car and kicked the wheel out of anger. This could not be happening. While he may have married Lisa initially with the front of having a business, after today he realized that he wanted to pursue something with her. He wanted to spend his life with her and now he wasn't sure how successful that would be anymore. Not with his brother around.
All this brought feelings of regret and inadequacy that he had struggled to get past in the last few years. Maybe in some way, he blamed himself. Driven by a need for revenge from the family that had messed up his, he had done adequate research on them now that he had grown rich. His initial meeting with Lisa had not been as coincidental as he had led her to believe. He had arranged everything after following her schedule. He had wanted to know how the family that had kicked them to the gutters was doing.
