Chapter 50: Chapter 50

Chapter 52 Emily Russel's Proposal

Emily Russel stayed up all night. The message from her informant was clear that Alex Hargreaves had brought a woman into the old villa and is residing there these days.

When her spy mentioned a woman, the first picture that came to her mind is Elly. Her guess was confirmed before the photo was sent out.

Alex Hargreaves brought back Elly to the old villa. No, it is Madelline Russel. She knew the true identity of Elly.

Emily Russel was filled with jealousy and hatred. When Elly returned, Alex's indifference to her made her impatient, and she knew she had to act quickly.

At dawn, Emily Russel called Mrs. Elliot and made an appointment and meet her at a classical teahouse.

When Emily Russel met Mrs. Elliot, she was still smart and could be a lobbyist.

"Gee, you are too young. I always thought my mother was well maintained. Seeing your aunt today really opened up my knowledge of infinite beauty."

Mrs. Elliot smiled from ear to ear, and Emily Russel's words made her very satisfied. As a woman who communicates widely, Ms. Elliot has come into contact with many types of people, many of whom speak elegantly and are very popular with each other. For many years, the woman around Alex was not shameful.

"You are so good at talking, do you want to see me this morning just to praise me?" Ms. Elliot drank with a teacup in an elegant and with finesse manner.

Emily Russel asked Mrs. Elliot maliciously with a smile on her face. "I heard that Master John Elliot and his fiancée have returned home, but you don't seem to accept his choice."

"You are so good at putting on airs!" Mrs. Elliot satirized in an unpleasant voice. She doesn't like Elly, much less does she like people shouting in front of her. The lady knew fully well that the woman she called fiancée was Elly who came back from the dead. She doesn't want their family would accept a divorced woman.

Emily Russel's hand trembled slightly as she held the teacup, and she thought she didn't know the identity of Elly.

Ms. Elliot looked at the expression on Emily Russel's face tinged in a sarcastic tone.

"Did Miss Emily made an appointment with me today because of her sister's dissatisfaction? I didn't know you two sisters were so close."

"Of course not. I'm here to make Mrs. Elliot's wish come true. Emily Russel took a piece of paper from her handbag and gave it to Mrs. Elliot with the address written on it.

"What's this?" Mrs. Elliot didn't understand.

The paper is inscribed and referred to the place where Elly lives. Emily Russel smiled coldly, her eyes full of death.

"When Elly tries to get Master Elliot to leave her, the most fundamental way is to make her disappear completely."

"Is she dead?" Mrs. Elliot's heart trembled that made the piece of paper in her hand fell on the table.

"Yes, she completely needs to disappear!"

Emily Russel's deep eyes frightened her. She underestimated the elegant and beautiful woman in front of her. Although Emily Russel's faces are a bit like Elly's, the biggest difference is their sense of warmth.

Jealousy blinded Emily Russel's eyes and turned her into a ruthless demon.

Mrs. Elliot hesitated.

"Aren't you too cruel? Are you ready to be cruel to your own sister?"

"Take care of my sister?" Emily Russel's eyes were round, and her harmless voice and false surprise slipped out of her red lips.

"My sister was killed in a traffic accident three years ago."

After the meeting, Ms. Elliot picked up the address given by Emily Russel. But there is no assertion that she will cooperate. Although she has been tired of Elly's detriment to her son's career, which has led to a stalemate in the relationship between her as a mother and her as a daughter-in-law, it is not enough to prompt her to do something cruel as what Emily suggested. The time she lived with her is enough to keep John from being as cruel as Emily Russel.

As she walked towards Emily Russel, she was in a bad mood. Her heart was occupied by the devil and didn't waver as she decided to get rid of Elly.

"I warned you and gave you a lot of opportunities, but you always challenged my patience. So, you caused my cruelty. You asked for this." Emily Russel looked up at the sky with determination in her heart.

Elly is ignorant of the incoming danger. She took Maverick to plant seedlings in the garden behind the villa.

When he saw that Elly and Maverick had planted a row of trees in the back garden, butler Geno smiled heartily. He approached her and picked up a seedling excitedly. A long time ago, after Uncle Leonard died, the villa was covered with the green of plants again.

Elly asked in surprise. "Why is the garden is empty, why don't you plant flowers or vegetables? Who is Uncle Leonard?

The housekeeper sighed as he remembered a sad memory.

"Uncle Leonard is the old housekeeper of the villa. He has taken care of his boss since he was a child because his father has been working overseas. The boss regarded Uncle Leonard as his family, but Uncle Leonard was old and the butler died of illness when he was in college."

Elly heard about Uncle Leonard for the first time, and she listened quietly.

"Uncle Leonard grew a large number of fruit trees and flowers in the Expo Garden. After Uncle Leonard died, whenever the boss looked at the tree, he remembered him and missed his loss, so he moved away."

She looked at a row of seedlings on the ground in horror and asked the housekeeper anxiously.

"When we plant these seedlings, Alex will get angry, doesn't he?"

She and Maverick said that the request was the same as their intention, that the sale and delivery of young trees to the villa were to be carried out by the butler. She didn't know at the time that planting young trees would put Alexis in a bad mood.

As the butler glanced at her cautious eyes, housekeeper Geno smiled kindly.

"Miss Emily, if you want to buy anything in the villa, I have to discuss it with my boss. These young trees were sent by the boss according to your request."

"From Mr. Hargreaves? I'm surprised. Doesn't he hate the green in this villa?"

"Yes, the boss said it was for the villa." The butler Geno said implicitly.

In the evening, Alex came to the villa for dinner as usual. As soon as he entered the door, he found that Elly kindly picked up his coat to help him, what their housekeeper often did.

Alex Hargreaves didn't care much, but when he sat on the couch with a familiar cup of coffee in front of him, he watched and stared suspiciously at her and said "No, no. What happened today? Your service to me makes me feel unreal."

"I'm your secretary. Although this is not a company, I should do my duty." Elly smiled from ear to ear.

Alex looked strangely and his husky voice laughed at her.

"I didn't have such a high consciousness a few days ago. Tell me, what happened today? What do you want?"

Being seen through her action, Elly is no longer shy so she said bluntly.

"Overall, I'm sorry!"

Alex Hargreaves was puzzled by the sudden apology. As his voice softened a lot, he inquired. "Why are you apologizing?"

"Well, I didn't know you didn't like the green trees in the garden behind the villa. I just feel like it's a space. I want it to be more energetic. I didn't mean to touch your heart."

Her head is down and her voice is low.

"In fact, you can refuse my request directly without having to do as I ask. Sorry."

Her apology was interrupted because Alexis tugged her hand. Her body fell on his chest, and she closed her eyes in panic and stretched out her arms as she tried to push his shoulders away. But then, Alexis took her in his hand and turned around and put her aside.

Laughter rang in her ears and made her opened her eyes.

"I allow you to stand here and talk to me."

The distance between the two was so close that Elly was so stupid that he didn't know where to put his hand. The dull voice full of masculinity sounded in her ears, and Elly found that her heart was beating faster than usual.

"After Uncle Leonard died, I dared not to face the fruit trees and flower beds that Uncle Leonard personally took care of. I sent someone to see them off because I was too weak to face the fact that I had lost Uncle Liu. But then, your intention of planting seedlings made me realize that nostalgia for the dead is nothing to be ashamed of."

Elly was so moved by Alexis's heartfelt confession that she looked at him silently, much more gently.

"If you come to this villa, change it. It may be Uncle Leonard's mission and arrangement." Alex said. He suddenly stretched out his hand and rolled the messy and fluffy hair behind Elly's ear. His voice got warmer, Alex said "Thank you for coming back!"

Her heart beat violently in her chest and her body felt stiff to Alex's intimate gesture. Time seemed to stop at this moment. To her surprise, she hated neither the feelings in her heart nor the calm atmosphere between them.
