Chapter 49: A blind date.

Looking at her peacefully face while sleeping, Alex felt hard to breath. He touched to curls eyelashes, his heart pounding a little.

That gently gesture didn't wake her up, Alex had experience about carried her on his arm once onto the bed at the Hargreaves company. So, now he got used to it, he bent down carried her into his arms.

Elly woke up startled then she realized she was sleeping in a hotel room.

This made her shocked. After asking at the reception, she knew that Alex had carried her to the room. The congratulatory voice from the receptionist talked about how gentle and caring is Alexis Hargreaves that made Elly smiled shyly when she hung up.

Things happened when she didn't be of sound minded made Elly confused. Her heart was beating fast and inside it was growing some kind of unusual feeling.

Door wide opened, John Elliott came back late when sky was dark. His tired and cold-blooded face.

Elly had bad feeling, she worried walked to him and held his hands. "What's the matter? You look not so well?"

John didn't reply, stayed away from her, he sat down on the sofa, loosening his shoulder tiredly. Elly sat down next to him, silently waiting.

He stroked his face with his hands, his hoarse voice spoke from sore throat. "Elly, I'm really jobless."

"Isn't it temporarily suspended?" Elly confused, she wanted to hold his hands again but got rejected. "That's completely a medical accident. How can the hospital be that harsh and rough? They don't have the rights to fired you because of an unintended accident."

"It was me who stepped down." John's voice spoke up slowly like telling someone else story. "The family of that patients come to the hospital all day which made everything perturbations. All the works and treatments got affected, I can't let everyone get involved because of me."

Because she didn't know how to comfort while confusing she accidentally asked something quite sensitive. "So, what you're going to do next? John, do you think of come back home?"

For a long time, Elly had been trying to find an opportunity in order to convince John Elliott. She thought he deserved to have better things than to be with her.

But she persuaded him was right at his crisis times, so, he didn't keep calm, the pair of angry eyes looked straight at Elly. "Come back? Elly, do you think that after I quit my job at the hospital, I would be useless if I don't have the Elliott family back up?"

"No, that's not what I mean..."

"You hate a person without money, don't you?"

"John..."

Elly hadn't finished her sentence, John stood up and went back to the next room, left her back a cold door.

Elly sighed, she blamed herself. John had been through lots of pressure these days, and today quitting job was truly heavy for him, she definitely didn't know how to comfort people.

The next day, John didn't turn back to the room when breakfast was ready. Elly glanced at the closed door, she sighed sadly then left a note before went to work.

Right when she arrived at the company, she realized all the coworkers were hanging around and gossiping about the new rumors. She didn't tend to get in but accidentally heard about a familiar name.

"Let's make a guess whether if Ms. Russel was the one who gave birth to Mr. Hargreaves child?"

"I heard that his son was born by his ex-wife, but she lost because of difficult delivery."

"Turn out Ms. Russel always be with Mr. Hargreaves to attend all the parties wasn't Kitten's mother either."

"Can Elly successful being the next Ms. Hargreaves?"

"It's hard to tell, because young master Kitten is very picky, to be his mother is not easy."

"Today young master is going to the company. Do you guys think this is an opportunity for Elly to be advanced through the one and only son of Mr. Hargreaves?"

One of them realized Elly was stand behind, quickly winked at each other. They confused trying to changed their expressions, turned away and pretended like nothing happened. But the scorn they had toward Elly was still obvious.

A corner of Elly's mouth was twitching. She knew the child wasn't born by Emily Russel, but that was Alexis Hargreaves family business. She didn't like to attend in talk behind someone's back.

Didn't waiting for she to sat down at her work table, secretary Leon walked closer to Elly, with tiredly voice. "Elly, follow me to the CEO office, there is something that needs you to handle."

Elly didn't think much, she followed Leon. Right when she opened the door, a shadow ran fast to her, because of weak reflex Elly failed backwards, her head hit the floor.

Some of the associates sneakily looking followed the sound, she quickly hugged the little figure in her arms hide fast into CEO office.

"Kitten! Don't be rude!" Alexis was worried when he saw she fell, so he yelled pretty harshly.

Kitten pretend like he didn't hear it, he hugged Elly's arms tightly, smiled widely to showing his teeth. "Mommy Maddy! I really missed you."

Alexis coldly reminded. "Kitten, you forgot about what I told you?"

Pouting, Kitten changed the address, shaking Elly's hands. "Aunt Elly, did you miss Kitten?"

Elly squat down right in front of the boy, squeezing his chubby cheek, sincerely saying. "Of course! Kitten is absolutely adorable, everybody loves you."

Alexis felt left out, couldn't get in the intimacy, he felt jealous. His voice seemed sour. "Kitten is not your child, but you already love him this much. Don't know when you have one, how much are you going to love them."

His words made Elly seemed shy because she had been too close with Kitten. Right now, she realized there were only three people in the room, secretary Leon cleverly closed the door and walked out already.

Looking at her pink face, Alex seemed to balanced his mentality. He simply explains. "The nursery school have a day off, his nanny also busy and isn't home, Kitten really likes and trusts you. So, I give him to you to take care of today."

Said like helping but his superior voice like demanded.

Babysitting in work times sound a little strange, but seeing those expected eyes of Kitten, Elly couldn't reject.

"Yes, sir."

Kitten happily hugged Elly, his face brightens up with happiness, made Elly smiled softly. "So, we should go out now. We shouldn't be here to disturb Mr. Hargreaves works."

Kitten nodded, held her hand came and went freely outside.

Alexis Hargreaves felt abandoned again, but he smirked interestingly. "Elly, this month salary will be increases 5%"

Hearing the good news, she turned around gave him a rare sweet smile.

That beautiful smile made Alex's heart pounding nonstop for a bit.

In the hotel, John woke up and went to next room to found Elly. He remembered he was angry last night, feeling regret and he wanted to apologize.

The room was silent, there were just breakfasts and a note. He knew she went to the Hargreaves company to work.

"I never underestimate you. Please don't skip meals." A few simple words warmed John's tired heart. He gently kissed on the delicate beauty handwriting then his phone rang.

Looking at the name, he didn't want to answer, but looked at her loving note, he frowned and listened.

"Hello!"

"Let's meet." Mrs. Elliott also glacial.

"There isn't anything between us to talk about." John Elliott harshly said, wanted to hung up.

"About me accepting Elly, you still don't want to meet?"

John smirked. "You think I would believe you after all the things you have done?"

"Believe it or not is your choice. But this is your only chance. I have lots of tough solutions to make she disappear from your life."

"Fine! Tell me the address!" John grind teeth accepted, he couldn't put Elly in danger.

Mrs. Elliott read a restaurant address at the east of the town. John quickly changed his clothes and caught a car to the allocate address.

"Sir, are you John Elliott?"

An elegantly woman voice made John looked up surprisingly. A beautiful girl stood next to him and gently smiled.

"Hi, I was introduced by auntie Elliott. My name is LHT."

The girl appeared surprising made John realized something. He said apologize, walked out of the hall, he called his mother.

"Is this one of your traps, mother?" His patience was disappearing. "What do you want?"

"I want you to have a blind date and treated miss L right. If you against me, I will assure that Elly will be disappeared forever."

Mrs. Elliott hung up after threatening. John Elliott held the phone tighter, his hands shaking of anger. He turned back sat in front of LHT with a cold-blooded face.

LTH had been told already, so she didn't feel mad about this attitude. Still with that smile on her lips, she smartly and gently said some topics to erased the boring awkward atmosphere. John coldly replied, because of his man manners he couldn't be silent for all night.

Right in front of the restaurant, Elly looked up at the name sign, asking the kid stood beside. "Kitten, is this your favorite restaurant?"

"Yes, it is. But why we don't wait for father to eat together?" Kitten with puffy cheeks didn't sound happy.

Elly froze when she heard about Alexis Hargreaves, she patiently explained. "Kitten, your father has some works to handle. We should eat first."

She walked Kitten inside, she felt very satisfying with the vintage style of the place. Kitten ran first, chose a table near a glass window, he waved at her. "Auntie, right here."

Elly smiled she walked to the place and being shocked because the next table there were John Elliott and a beautiful girl.
