Chapter 248: Chapter 248

Chapter 250: The Woman Three Years Ago

Elly was startled by Katriel's words. "I don't seem to have been a part of his life for three years, and a lot of things have happened that I don't know about. Don't be in a hurry to doubt or misunderstand this." Katriel explained in detail.

"About a year before you met him, I met Alex in a bar. He saved me from a few bad guys."

Under the description of Katriel's story, Elly completely imagined the scene of that night.

Katriel sat at the bar, her shoulders hanging down, her long flowing hair wrapped around her arms, revealing her slender white neck. Her face was flushed with wine, but the action of pouring beverages could still be heard.

Every glass of wine rushed down her throat, and she could not feel the danger lurking not so far away. A wrinkled man, limping, looked coveted at the small waistline in his tight apron and followed her all the time, waited for Katriel to get drunk.

Katriel loomed in the nearly dry bottle, with a chubby hand around her shoulder and a strong smell of perfume on her face. "Girl, you drink really well. Do you want another?"

She felt her hair rubbed and her arm rubbed, and she pulled her body away. She leaned back, and her painful head predicted that she would fall awkwardly in front of everyone. But with one hand on Katriel's shoulder, a stern voice sounded.

"Why do you drink so much? Couldn't you have waited for me?"

The person who appeared was Alex, whose words were naturally reproached as he put his arms around her. As if he had made a mark on sovereignty, and he looked at the chubby guy. "Who are you?"

"You wouldn't be familiar with me." the chubby guy, Dan, answered foolishly and instinctively.

Assuming that Katriel had a boyfriend and couldn't compete, Dan the chubby guy wanted to call it quits and left as soon as possible.

Alex thought Katriel was drunk, so he asked her to settle down and Amadeo, "When the lady wants to leave, call her a taxi and escort her out, do you understand?"

Amadeo nodded to his boss.

Katriel's face turned red and her body shook a little, but she was still very conscious. She looked curiously at the man in front of her, and the words sparkled from her lips until she heard them. "Why are there such handsome people in the world?" His cold temperament was special to her.

Alex looked directly at her and said faintly, "If you feel offended, I'm sorry."

Katriel was moved by his righteous behavior, and when she saw him turn around and leave, she stretched out her hand and begged for his return. "Handsome, can you have a drink with me?"

Looking at Katriel's innocent eyes, he could not refuse. He didn't know why he had stepped in to save her from the malicious fat man. Perhaps, watching her leaning alone at that moment tempted Alex to take her home for the night.

Through the night, Katriel got to know Elly through Alex.

"You remind me of someone I used to know." Alex explained why he helped her.

"Who is prettier, me or her?" Katriel asked curiously.

"You, miss." he answered without hesitation. But, in his heart, Elly was the most beautiful.

"Is it necessary to be so honest?" Her lips trembled, but her heart was beating in her chest.

For Katriel, Alex was the most beautiful looking man. Katriel felt ecstasy and was delusional in her heart.

She's been digging deep to get to know his life. "You say that, but I bet you have a girlfriend."

Alex was silent for so long that she thought there was no answer, but he did. "My heart is empty. Nothing can fill it."

Katriel smiled bitterly, her new love was drowned by another party, and she knew she was late.

As soon as she had a chance to get to know Alex, she saw his eyes were like those of someone with great loss.

After their outspoken conversation, the two unexpectedly became good friends. There are some similarities, different hobbies, but at least they sat together, said a few words, and felt very calm. The relationship was getting closer and closer.

It was obvious that the good times would not last, as Alex nominally had a girlfriend.

Emily suspected that Alex went out every night and always smelled of wine when he came home. She suspected that he was cheating and finally caught Katriel and him drinking.

She rushed up to push Katriel and shouted, "Sly fox! Trying to rob other people's men. No shame!"

When she scolded more and more, Alex was very angry and took Emily's hand. "Go home!"

"Why should I go home?" Emily glared fiercely and asked the question ferociously. "Am I your girlfriend or her? Late at night, instead of being with me at home, here you are with another woman. You put yourself in my position, will it not be uncomfortable? Will it not hurt?"

Katriel's reactions were just to stare, felt shy and angry. Then, she stood up out of respect for Alex and Emily. "You two talk. I'll be leaving."

Watching her leave calmly, Emily shouted crazily. Emily rushed up again and blocked the front, pointing straight at Katriel's nose and said sarcastically. "You look like an educated woman with a pretty face. Why do you embarrass yourself by seducing another person's man?"

"You're mistaken." Katriel blushed and explained, but Emily slapped her in the face and pushed her in the chest.

"If you know what I mean, why did you leave in such a hurry?" Emily shouted, watching Alex stand behind and help Katriel get up. Gnashing her teeth, Emily added, "Bitch!"

Alex finally couldn't stand it. Looking at the lush appearance of Katriel, he felt guilty. He walked up to Emily and twisted his voice. "Are you really going to cause a scene and mess this up? Don't test my patience."

"Did I mess up?" Emily glared at his attitude. After Elly's presumed death, Alex began to treat her coldly, worried and suppressed for a long time, and this incident made her angry. She cried dejectedly, pushed him away sadly, shut her mouth and ran away.

Emily never thought that Alex would yell at her and hurt her because of a strange woman.

Later that night, Alex patiently explained his relationship with Katriel. Although Emily did not believe in the friendship between men and women, she was silent and stopped making noise.

Through time, Katriel went to study abroad, and her family moved away and was no longer in Mangrove City.

Elly was entertained when she learned about the whole experience of Katriel and Alex's story.

"I was a little jealous because I didn't get to see him all those years."

Seeing the face of Elly, fearing that she had misunderstood, Katriel quickly made her point clear. "Thank you for coming back, in order to realize my long-standing ambition and dream. I know you're with Alex. I sincerely wish your relationship the best. We were good friends."

Few people have blessed Elly's relationship with Alex, and she was deeply moved by Katriel's words. Although she has a good impression of Katriel, she was still a little confused.

"How do you know I'm Elly?" Elly touched her face, and she still remembered that she had had plastic surgery. Her face was diferrent, and people she had never met could not recognize her.

"Sorry, I did an identity investigation when I returned home. You see, Alex is also my cherished friend. I am afraid that he will meet those girls who are greedy for wealth. I wouldn't wish that for him."

Katriel Jones confessed and looked at her with a cordial smile. "This year, I never saw Alex again. Don't misunderstand him like his ex-girlfriend Emily."

Katriel's sincerity and frankness did not make Elly doubt or wonder. When she heard her open up, she felt very comfortable. "Now that you have returned home, we can see you at any time."

Katriel was grateful for Elly's pride and raised her glass and praised her. "Now I understand why Alex can't forget you. You are so generous, and that kind of love is rare."

Elly smiled with firm faith in her eyes. She believed her.

With joy, Elly returned to Alex's house, startled by Emily's lonely figure beside the sofa. Her lush expression made her ask nervously. "What's going on? Why is your face so pale?"

Emily looked at her darkly like a person who had risen from the dead. In a serious tone she asked, "Who did you meet tonight?"

Elly wasn't hesitant and gave a clear answer. "I went to see my new business partner, the beautiful Katriel Jones. Do you know who she is?"

Emily was so nervous that her body stood up seriously. "She is a good friend of Alex, right?"

She emphasized 'good friend' as such an allusion, but Elly did not react as she expected.

"She told me what happened before. I believe in their friendship."

"There is no friendship between men and women." Emily took Elly's hand and screamed.

"Okay, calm down." Elly looked at her sympathetically and applauded to appease her. "We made friends. Don't worry. I know you care about me and think of me. But Emily, I trust him and you need to believe in our relationship."

Emily was startled at the news that Elly and Katriel had made friends. Her heart was racing. She tried to smile at her, but she was in a panic. "Working together must be exhausting, so go to bed early. I'd like to sit here a little longer."

Elly took her frightened white face out of Emily's sight and went up the stairs to rest.

Emily sat down, exhausted and flushed with worry.

"Didn't she promise she wouldn't come back for the rest of her life? Why? Why?"

As night fell, Emily's worried body walked up and down the sofa in the living room. None of the family staff cared of what was going on.

In Emily's dream, Katriel plotted on strangling her, with her eyes cloudy and full of hatred. "This is all your fault. You've hurt me; you broke us up. You are an evil woman and I will give you more than what you have done. Damn you! Damn you to hell!"

Emily grabbed her with sharp animal-like claws, but Katriel's figure faintly vanished. Gibberish laughter hit her mind, as she wriggled crying.

Emily burst into tears and panic surrounded her face.

She opened her mouth and gasped, with the terrible sight of the dream coming to an end. The thought of Katriel's eyes looked very much like Elly, which made Emily feel that the two worked together and tried to kill her.

"You followed Alex, you interfered with our relationship, you were infatuated with him, and fired a bullet to protect your happiness." A voice inside Emily's head spoke to her.

"What's wrong with that? You had a crush on him. I booted you out to protect my happiness. What's wrong with that? It's not my fault."

Her murmur was almost the sound of crying at night. The environment was haunting like seeing a ghost in your bathroom mirror. Imagine seeing a crazy figure with drooping hair, holding her head crazily and muttering to herself in the darkness of the living room.

Katriel did not tell Elly that she volunteered to study abroad to ensure the safety of her relatives.

The reason behind it was due to Emily.

On the second floor, in Alex's room, Elly climbed up the bed and laid next to him. After hugging, the two gave each other all kinds of love and laid quietly together, enjoying this simple and quiet atmosphere.

Elly whispered to his neck, "Who were you having dinner with tonight?"

Alex stroked her delicate skin around her waist, but was half asleep. He came to senses and was startled. "What the hell are you doing here?"
