Chapter 245: Chapter 245

Chapter 247: Blocking, Begging

Knowing that the food that had just been eaten was made by Emily, the thought of spitting out vomit from his throat was formed in Alex's mind.

He threw his chopsticks on the table and said exactly the same thing as his daughter. "I shouldn't have eaten what you cooked. I don't know if something was put in it."

His ruthless attitude and cold behavior made Emily lose her breath.

Alex looked at Elly with displeasure and said angrily. "I'm full now."

Looking at the back of Alex's unrequited love, Elly was very satisfied. But she spoke with guilt and shyness.

"I'm sorry! I just wanted to taste Emily's recipe so that you won't be biased. I didn't expect such a big reaction."

Elly's words reminded Emily to face up to the gap in Alex's attitude. The pain in Emily's heart was so large that it felt like it left cracks.

To the Hargreaves family, everything you do was set to a high standard. "It doesn't matter. I won't take it too personal." He stood up in a hurry, looking very bad, trying to keep his voice as intimate as possible. "I'm going back to the bedroom. Good night."

Looking at Emily's bad situation and untouched food on the table, Elly was full of joy.

Emily was at a loss. It seemed that her endurance and patience were not as good as she thought.

Elly sat in the living room for a long time, full of thinking and next steps to deal with Emily. Finally, she had to hurry back to her room to coax the angry Alex.

At the same time, in a different place, Linda worked overtime and was walking up and down on her way home alone. While walking and humming, a figure suddenly appeared in front of her, making her scream instinctively in horror.

"Who are you? If you're going to rob me, I have cash, I have a phone, I'll get it. Please don't hurt me. I'm an old mother with kids."

Before she had finished begging, she recognized a familiar face and felt ridiculous. Linda didn't believe her eyes. "Dimitri?"

He held his hands forward to be held, but was severely dumped.

Linda flashed by and was grabbed by the shoulder and dragged to the back. She was so angry that she tried to hit someone with her handbag and found him kneeling on the ground, clasping her wrist and begging.

"Manager Linda, I know I was wrong. I am a bastard without conscience, I am an ungrateful person. Please, can you forgive me?"

It took a while for Linda to wake up in front of this incredible picture. She tried to pull out her hand and leave, but the struggle was in vain.

"What kind of game are you playing? Get down on your knees and beg for mercy? You want me to die early, right?"

"Look, please help me, I can't work as a degraded man anymore. The countless days made me regret my foolish behavior." Dimitri pleaded fluently. "No matter what you say, I will listen to you. Please help me, only you can put me out of this pain."

Dimitri did not know that Linda had been disappointed in him and even vowed never to contact or have anything to do with him. So, when she heard his request, she refused to it.

"The person you offended is Mr. Hargreaves. I'm sorry. What I said is more efficient than what Alex would do. I can't help you."

He took Linda by the hand and tried to help himself up, but she refused.

"Aren't you an acquaintance of Mr. Hargreaves? Please put in a good word for me in front of him.

"You're wrong." Linda was troubled by his foolish stubbornness. "I don't know Alex like that. What I say has no weight."

"I don't care. If you don't agree, I will kneel here forever." Dimitri reached out again to grab Linda's wrist. But this time she had room and backed him off.

"You can kneel as long as you want. I can't help you, and I don't want to have anything to do with you. Don't bother me."

With that, Linda walked around him.

"Linda!" The cry of Dimitri only made Linda disgusted with him.

Linda continued to walk home, secretly regretting not calling a cab and scolding herself that it was foolish to walk and feel the late-night breeze.

The further she went, the more restless her heart became, and the stronger she felt that someone was following her. The people behind her kept a certain distance from her, making her heart tremble as she dared not to look back and check.

She walked slowly, then the people behind her slowed down. She walked very fast, then the people behind her sped up. Linda pursed her lips and clenched her handbag beside her. She adjusted her speed and set a trap for strangers to approach in an instant. She suddenly turned around and smashed the handbag at the man's head.

The crash did not deny the familiar screams. Linda was surprised to realize that the victim had been punched.

"Who are you?"

Looking at Gerald frowning and rubbing his brow for about ten seconds, Linda frantically smashed three or four hits into his chest. She kept scolding with a trembling voice in her mouth. "Hey, you scared me! Trying to trick me. I'll kill you."

While raising his hand, Secretary Gerald rubbed his head and chest because of the pain.

"Stop hitting me, you ruthless girl. Stop, stop. Do you want to kill your husband?"

Linda originally felt a little guilty after playing for four years, but now when she heard his words, she lost her temper and stopped hurting him.

"I was wrong. Stop the violence. I won't be able to go to work tomorrow with these aches and bruises." Gerald leaned over, took a punch on the shoulder, pounced on her, hugged her tightly, and coaxed her.

Tied up in his clasped arms, Linda looked at him ferociously, with a strange look in her eyes. "Cut the crap. You hurt yourself."

Gerald did not answer back, but kept hitting her in the face and brushed her hair in silence.

Linda was so cold, but recognized something suspicious when she gained more awareness. "Why are you here? Were you following me?"

Gerald smiled instead of acknowledging an answer to her questions.

"Since when did you start spying on me?"

Seeing her surprised eyes, Gerald explained, "My colleague told me that you had to work overtime today, so I waited outside the company for several hours. I followed you when you got off work."

With a slap to the face, Secretary Gerald admitted frankly, "I wanted to help you get rid of the other person following you, but I didn't think you would beat him to pieces."

This attempted compliment obviously upset Linda. She bowed her head and whispered, "When I was a girl, when I was in trouble, I had to show up and act like a man."

"Does my lover have to be a hero and save the world?" When Secretary Gerald asked about the exit, she pushed her, and he hurriedly pinched her bracelet tightly. He hugged Linda in obvious anger and attended to her gently. "Okay, I was wrong. The next time someone comes to harass you, I must come out and hit him, or at least catch him and let you fight, okay?"

Linda laughed under Gerald's helplessness, and her face softened.

Gerald scrambled to kiss her, then bent down to pick up the bag, not forgetting to be courteous.

"The breeze is getting stronger and stronger. Are you sure you're not cold?"
