Chapter 241: Chapter 241

Chapter 243: I Believe You

Back at Alex's house, Elly entered the door. The family staff and Housekeeper Gillian surrounded her with concern.

"How are you, Ms. Elly? Is there something you need?"

That day, the cook in the kitchen stewed black chicken soup specially for her. She ate a lot of painstaking food so that she could get better soon.

"I picked up your favorite lavender and inserted it into the room, hoping that you would feel better."

Under the words of concern, Elly felt warm and responded with a smile. "Thank you. I'm fine."

She turned and watched Alex stand firm and push his hand.

"The staff don't have to follow me all day. There are a lot of people in my family, but I can take care of myself. Don't worry."

Alex understood Elly's character. She hated being a burden or causing trouble to others, so she nodded and kept telling him that he could tell people to do what he wants, but not her.

"If you need anything, call me right away. I'll be back for lunch with you at noon."

Elly looked down and was ashamed of the people around looking at and admiring her. Alex was pushed to the door by her, but partially missed. He hopped in a car to head to his company.

"Let's get back to work."

"I'm fine." Elly spoke sheepishly and walked slowly up the stairs on the second floor.

In addition to her calm face, the memory of the fall, and the pain of losing her child step by step, emerged more and more clearly. Clinging to the wall, her body did not waver, and her lips persisted as she walked to the top of the stairs.

The feeling of standing in the right place that day seemed to have experienced another loss, and Elly's heartache was extremely painful.

Emily was angry with her that day and pushed a little hard, but from her point of view, she knew very well that there were stairs behind her, so why did she push so hard? Elly kept asking herself, "Why was she so aggressive?"

Currently standing at the top of the stairs, holding the handrail, Elly realized that she couldn't have fallen off the stairs without great effort.

Relying on the news from the nurse in the hospital, Elly suddenly realized that Emily wasn't well. Emily had a health problem and accidentally pushed her. If she didn't use a lot of strength, she couldn't have fallen down.

She thought about it even more and wanted to test it out. She was called downstairs. "Just a moment please!"

Another housekeeper, Francis, cut the lavender into Elly's room and was cleaning the tables and chairs downstairs in the living room. When she heard a call, she obeyed and went upstairs.

"Ms. Elly, are you not feeling well?"

Elly smiled under the care of the staff, pointing to the position in front of her.

"Stand here."

When the housekeeper heard this, it was difficult to understand.

"Push me hard."

"Push you?" Housekeeper Francis was stupefied for a few seconds and hurriedly drove her hand away and refused. "No, no. Ms. Elly, forget it. I can't do this. You're too nice, how can I push you?"

"I want to recreate what just happened. I want to remember what happened. Don't worry, everything will be alright. Give me a push."

Seeing housekeeper Francis frowning and wanting to cry, Elly quickly patted and comforted her.

"Ms. Elly, I'm old. I'm going to raise a baby. If something happens to you, the boss will kill me. I can't hurt you." Housekeeper Francis begged for mercy, as she knelt down and worshiped her.

Elly also knew how afraid the family staff was of Alex, so she had to explain her unreasonable demands in a low voice.

"Housekeeper Francis, I'm not trying to hurt myself. I'm just reconsidering some doubts. I suspect that the fall I had that day was a plot by Emily, not because she was careless, but because she deliberately pushed me."

Elly's voice was very low, as if she were afraid of being heard by outsiders. She thought of the family being bribed by Emily, after all, she had lived here for three years. Housekeeper Francis was the person she liked and trusted the most.

"Did Ms. Emily hurt you on purpose?" Housekeeper Francis was startled, covered her mouth and whispered, "Me, I don't trust Ms. Emily, either."

"So, I need your help." Elly, according to her words, made a request again. "I promise nothing will happen."

"I can't do it, I..."

"If you push me, I'll get better insight on the intentions of Emily."

Housekeeper Francis still dared not to agree and boldly put forward an offer.

"What if you push me? If you push me, even if I fall, I'll be fine, there will be no problem. You can put yourself in the position of Ms. Emily." explained Housekeeper Francis.

Elly could not persuade her, so under Housekeeper Francis's determination, she had to accept the replacement plan.

She took a breath, plucked up her courage and pushed Housekeeper Francis with all her strength. Although she lost two or three steps, Francis didn't roll down because she was holding the handrail.

"You have to commit to the fall."

Housekeeper Francis returned to her original position and made suggestions.

Elly shook her head and her smile was twisted. Her heart was so heavy due to being close to finding answers. If it wasn't intentional, if it was just an accident, Emily didn't have to push her hard. This was definitely intentional.

Looking at Elly's tired and sad face, Housekeeper Francis asked uneasily, "Are you okay? Was the exercise very intense just now? Are you tired? Shall I call a personal doctor to see you?"

"I'm fine." Elly shook her head and smiled bitterly, and her eyes welled up with thin tears.

She hurriedly turned around so as not to be seen by outsiders, and her words sank back to the room under heavy footsteps.

She was right. Facts have proved the ill-nature of the blood-shed accident, which cannot be changed.

Housekeeper Francis watched Elly walk into the room alone and wisely guessed the reason.

"Should I call my boss to report it? Or do you want to come down? The chef cooked your favorite dishes, so maybe that'll lighten your mood?"

Housekeeper Francis quickly went downstairs and wanted to talk with Housekeeper Gillian, when she suddenly saw Emily enter the house.

Housekeeper Francis was angry and her heart filled with rage. She asked sarcastically, "If you do such a cruel thing that lacks such human feelings, how dare you don't admit to it. How humiliating"

Emily returned to the hospital from the airport to look for Elly. When she found out Elly was discharged from the hospital, she hurried back to Alex's house. Unexpectedly, she was rudely scolded by a housekeeper as soon as she entered the door.

She flew into a rage. "You're just a scumbag. How dare you lie to me? What kind of punch-drunk housekeeper dares to point a finger at my face?"

Emily was just a guest of the house. Housekeeper Francis did go too far.

"I am a friend of Elly!

"Are you afraid of her? The blood on your hands should be humiliating." Housekeeper Francis was not afraid and defended Elly's case from earlier.

"You're just a liar!" Emily raised her hand and gave Housekeeper Francis a slap.

When she straightened her wrist for another, there was a scream. "Stop!"

Seeing Elly, Emily stopped her hand angrily, and pointed at Housekeeper Francis with a sweet voice. Elly, look at the people in this house. They are so arrogant, and arrogant I cannot tolerate.

"Emily, don't be angry. Francis has also worked in Alex's staff for many years. She has a quick temper and speaks vaguely, but she works very attentively. Let's not do this."

"You are too kind. I'm just teaching the staff for you so they can know who they are."

"All right, don't be mad then."

Elly winked at Housekeeper Francis. She bowed to Elly and left.

Emily followed with dissatisfaction. "I am too gentle and amiable for all of that."

Her words made Elly feel ironic. She replied very vaguely, "Yes, because you trust people gently."

Emily did not listen to the sarcasm. She looked at Elly's calm smile and believed that Elly had no doubt, so she pretended to play the role of anger.

"You don't know what she meant, Elly. You have to believe me. I really didn't mean to push you that day. You are too angry to be invested in those stairs."

Looking at Emily's miserable eyes, Elly's heart gradually faded away, her body was cold and her hands were becoming numb. She was holding back emotions so she won't explode too soon on Emily.

Emily's acting skills were very good. Her lying did not blush, and her voice does not lose rhythm.

Elly chuckled and patted Emily's affectionate hand. "I'm sure you didn't mean to."
