Chapter 224 Mixed Truth and falsehood

When the weather was sunny, Secretary Gerald came to pick up Linda for lunch in the company. As soon as they entered the restaurant, they saw a familiar figure.

Linda thought she was wrong, so she said it to Secretary Gerald carefully. "Do you think she looks like Elly?"

Secretary Gerald looked at her and pointed at her and answered in the affirmative tone. "That's Ms. Elly. Can't you see it so close?"

She squinted at him and the two of them walked towards Elly. They saw the person seated opposite Elly. Lina's smile seemed to condense in the corner of her mouth.

Elly saw Gerald and Linda and said hello to them. "What a coincidence. Are you guys having dinner or a date?"

"Who's dating him?" Linda denied it and stared at Emily with a lack of kindness in her eyes. "How did you two know each other? Are you hurt?"

Elly heard Linda's vigilant voice, she considered Emily's mood and gave a simple answer. "I just have a dinner appointment. I'm not leaving Emily alone, especially if she lives in our house."

As soon as Elly finished her words, Linda pulled her up, and she was not allowed to resist, she forced her to go to the nearby toilet.

"Linda, slowly, you're walking too fast." Elly said hurriedly and disappeared behind the toilet door.

They leave Gerald and Emily to look at each other awkwardly, and then turned to different directions to pursue their own ideas.

Linda's behavior puzzled Elly. When the two stood next to the sink, she pulled out her friend's hand and her voice was unhappy. "If you do this, Emily will be ashamed."

"Shameful or not, she will die. It's none of my business." Linda put her hands on her chest and stood straight and looked sideways with her eyes glared at door of cubicle. And her management temperament screaming fire.

"Have you forgotten how she treated you? Has she been honest with you since you returned to Italy as crazy girl? How many painful lessons have you learned, and you are not less stupid and less worrying?"

"Through the ages!" Elly knew that Linda was worried about herself, so didn't put cruel words in her heart, she simply tried her best to protect Emily. "Emily has changed, and she is very different from what she used to be."

"What do you do to make sure that she don't pretend? Can a person who can only act all her life, live a real life?" Linda wanted to split Elly's head to see if it was brain or bean dregs that was inside.

"I think Emily is a hypocrite. Can she change in order to win your trust?"

Elly was startled, and Linda's words reminded her that she always kept some suspicious vigilance in the past, but after she saw the situation of Emily, she chose to trust her.

She had been in this situation, and she knew that no one had deliberately belittled herself. She was hesitating for a few seconds and after that, Elly told Linda the current situation of Emily.

Linda reacted as if her nose was dismissive. "What if she pretends to be pitiful?"

Linda looked at Elly's puzzled eyes and was so angry that she suddenly pulled out the two sides of her friends and emphasized them word for word. "She did everything she could to get back to the Hargreaves's and had a chance to get in close contact with Alex."

Elly recalled that recently, Emily was very honest and kind to people in the Hargreaves family, and did not do anything suspicious.

Immersed in hesitant thoughts, Elly smiled and thanked her friends. "I trust her."

At Peter's.

"Emily!"

After a business trip, Peter went straight home from the airport. The first thing he did when he entered the house was called Emily.

He walked around the house and couldn't find Emily, so he frowned and called for the worker. "Where is Emily? She's out?"

After Emily left, all the staff were called back. Although no one saw Mrs. Minda drove her daughter-in-law out of the house, smart people guessed it.

His eyes were fixed on him keenly, and the man who did the work dared not to hide it and responded sincerely. "Miss Emily, she was kicked out by your mother."

Peter's face turned around, just as Mrs. Minda came out of the room, her face was still asleep, and as soon as she saw him, she came over happily. "Peter, when did you get off the plane? Have you just arrived?"

The man who felt the anger emerged from Peter, he left with his head bowed. He guessed that the villa was going to be blown up by the war.

As she was happy seeing her son again made Mrs. Minda ignored the anger on Peter's face and asked kindly. "Make sure the food on the plane is not to your taste and let the cook prepare some dishes."

Peter dodged Mrs. Minda's hand and his voice was cold and clear. "There is no need."

Mrs. Minda was shocked by his reaction and couldn't help asking. "What happened to you?" It was only now that Mrs. Minda saw the anger in his eyes.

Peter remembered that he was standing in front of his own mother. His voice was not loud and he asked the question calmly. "Emily was kicked out by you, mother?"

"Where did you hear that?" Mrs. Minda had a flat voice. "The people who work here still fabricate lies to slander their owners? Is that it? I have to fire him."

"This has nothing to do with work." He interrupted Mrs. Minda and asked sharply. "Mom, didn't I say that Emily is my only lawfully wedded wife? She is very likable. Why don't you get along?"

Mrs. Minda scoffed. "She is not a modest girl, she can't be intimate with that kind of two-faced person, and it's disgusting to see her fake face."

"Don't talk to her like that!" Peter shouted when his mother was smeared, but he soon realized that he had just lost his control in front of his own mother. He gasped to calm down and insisted. "She is my wife. The truth will not change."

"Other people will not accept this type of daughter-in-law. Where does Emily face if she walks into your house? She used to be a woman of Alex Hargreaves, but later she was driven out of the house by Alex, and now she is eager to enter our family, and absolutely because of our family's desire for wealth. She doesn't love you!"

"Mom, you can't speak ill to my wife like that. Emily and Alex have been close to each other for three years." Which was a trouble in Peter's heart. He had a bad temper and yelled at Mrs. Minda.

"You dare to talk to your mother like that for the sake of that girl?" The level of aversion to Emily grew in Mrs. Minda's heart." She was dismissive. She's a sexy man's glass fox. Don't be so infatuated that you can't tell the true from the lie. She is a fake two-faced bitch. You've lived for so many years, why can't you see it?"

Under Mrs. Minda's rebuke, Peter tried his best to suppress his anger and forced himself to turn around quietly.

"Peter, stop! Somebody, stop your young master."

Peter punched the wall next to him and his endurance reached its limit. He didn't turn around and look at Mrs. Minda and roared angrily. "Stay out of my business. Emily is my woman. I will bring her back myself."

"If you bring her back, I'll kill you right away." Mrs. Minda screamed and threatened.
