Chapter 171: Chapter 171
Chapter 173 Children's wishes
Afraid of seeing Elly's tears, Alex sent a signal to turn off the projector so that she could no longer see the pictures of Kitten when he was a child.
When the photo disappeared, Elly recovered, hesitantly picked up Alex's handkerchief, wiped her tears, and pretended to calm down. "I'm sorry, I'm fine, it's just because I didn't get a chance to watch Kitten grow up."
He grabbed the loss in her eyes and tried to say something comforting, but he could not speak. Frustration poured into her mind more and more. Not only was Elly full of hatred for the past, but she was also saddened by the cruelty of that year.
If she didn't get pregnant because she was drunk and forced to have sex, and if Elly didn't force him to have a baby and Emily raise him, she wouldn't be afraid to run away and have a traffic accident. If she didn't lose her memory, three years of white time won't be wasted.
If she had the chance to go back to the past, Alex would not have made the same mistake, or at least he would have given the Kitten a warm, ordinary family.
Elly did not notice his abnormal state, she adjusted her emotional stability, then reluctantly laughed and said jokingly. "Look at me, crying on her son's birthday, it's so humiliating! Birthdays are happy and fun, aren't they?"
She took the gift out of her pocket and gave it to Kitten with a kind smile. "Happy birthday!"
"What's this?" Looking curiously at the blue ribbon of the blue gift box to form a very beautiful butterfly, there was anticipation in his eyes. He eagerly opened the gift bag and saw the photo album inside. The light of disappointment was clearly visible on the lovely lace face.
As expected, the smile on her lips was intact, and she sweet-talked him. "This is no ordinary album; you try to open it."
"What's so special about this?" He looked at her and didn't believe her, but he was obedient.
The picture illustrations open, there were self-painted paintings, mixed with photos of two people, eyes full of favorite surprises. "That's you, isn't it? Did you draw me with my mother? Did mom draw it? And this picture, when did you take me to sleep?"
Elly smiled and nodded. Kitten was amazed, and his eyes were filled with joy. "Mom, that's great! It was all paintings of you and me. I like it very much, those years when we played and studied together. This was a souvenir of my mother and me. I will take good care of it."
Kitten held the album tightly in his arms and lifted it.
After listening to the praise of the Kitten, Alex was curious about the album, since he couldn't see all the photos in it recently. He didn't know what to do.
Shook his head intently and said mysteriously. "This is a secret memory of me and mommy Elly. I can't show it to you."
"I won't tell anyone after I check it, so it's a secret". He kept seducing and only got his son's dismissive lips.
"If you want secrets, ask mom to make an album. Don't seduce me."
Alex listened to Kitten's words, turned around, looked at Elly's shy face, and sighed. "Well, mother and son pushed me away on purpose, didn't they?"
Kitten stuck out his tongue and embraced the cheerful album "Run."
Soon, Kitten's classmate came to them one after another, and as a result, he was often silent and lively.
Different from Elly's guess, Alex only invited his classmates and did not invite the rich people of the business world, so the atmosphere was very comfortable. When the children played together and laughed with Kitten, few of their friends would be happy.
The children screamed and chased and sang songs. Elly couldn't stand the noise. She secretly went to the balcony and hid for a while.
Inhaling the fresh air in her lungs, she looked very relaxed. Not letting her feel comfortable for more than ten seconds, the glass door opened again, and Alex came over with two glasses of wine in his hand. "Yes, I guessed it. You're here."
I'm not used to that much noise." She hesitated to go back to the room.
Alex understood her intentions and took out the wine in his hand to stop her. "May you have a drink with me at Kitten's birthday celebration?"
Unable to refuse his sincere eyes, she picked up the glass and stroked the cup in his hand. "Why didn't you say hello to the guests but hide here?"
"Do you think I am fit to live with the guests of Kitten's birthday party?"
Alex asked, making Elly laugh heartily. "Are you afraid that those ruthless faces will make the children cry?"
He did not answer and watched her cover the corners of her mouth with her glass. Through the transparent glass door, from the ceiling to the floor, Elly sighed as he watched the children playing happily in the living room. Kitten hasn't had such a lively event for a long time. "Kitten must be very happy to have friends around during his birthday party."
His excited sentence ended, the sliding door of the living room was pulled out, and a parent came over with his child and smiled politely at Alex.
"Hello, Mr. Alex! I am Anthony Reed, the parent of Shawn Reed and a classmate of Master Alex. Parents bring their children to you and command you. Bye. Bye."
Unlike his father's flattery, Shawn was timid and quiet, opened his mouth to listen to adults, but turned pale and scared out of his wits. Elly hates people who want to pass the child. She feels sorry for the child. Busy talking.
Well, it's just a kid, not so much ritual.
Shawn's father looked at Elly from top to bottom and smiled kindly. "Is this Mrs. Elly?" The other party was full of praise without waiting for her to answer. "Her ladyship is too young. The young master inherited the best qualities of his parents."
Hearing his half-delighted praise, embarrassment occupied most of the time, and at first glance, he motioned to Alex to deal with the immediate situation quickly.
Alex said calmly. "Sorry, today is my son's birthday party, he is the important person here right now. You can bring your daughter to play with everyone. We still have things to discuss."
Shawn's father was shocked by his unkind attitude. His face changed and he leaned away.
Elly gave a thumbs up and admired. "That was awesome. Did you put it bluntly enough? Aren't you afraid to offend others?"
"I am not interested in people who even use their children to build relationships," Alex said indifferently, shaking his glass.
She toasted his glass, her voice full of admiration and support. "I hate such people, too. Only untalented parents can take advantage of their children. They don't care what the children think. It's disgusting!"
A few steps away, he could still feel her anger, the corners of his mouth bent unconsciously, his eyes never moved her face, and he reached out to drink the glass dry.
"Why are you staring at me? Is that weird?"
He approached her, one step at a time, his breath with a strong smell of wine, serious voice permeated every corner of her heart.
"Don't worry! We will educate the birthday celebration of Kitten and will never force you to do something you don't like."
The large amount of information contained in his hidden words made it impossible for her to control her wishful thinking. She quickly forced herself to stay awake and change the subject. "It's time to cut the cake. I'll go and have a look."
"The timid owl ran around like a rabbit." He muttered to himself and followed.
With celebration, songs were sung and candles were being prepared, Kitten expressed his original intention. "I want to be with mommy forever. I don't know what to do."
Alex looked at Elly unconsciously and saw her looking at the shepherd with complexity, shame, guilt, remorse, and helplessness.
"My second wish is to have a lot of friends."
The onlookers patted the fence. Never forgetting to say the third wish, he only prayed silently in his heart: "I hope my mother will always love me and never leave me again."
After saying three wishes, he took Elly by the hand. "Mom, let's blow out the candles together!"
Elly put her arms around him and bent down to blow out the candles. In the brief darkness, he kissed her cheek and whispered in her ear. "Mom, I love you!"
It was Kitten's birthday, but tonight Elly was the happiest person in the room. She wanted to cry out of happiness.
After the banquet, the children left one after another, and Kitten was exhausted and slept on the sofa. Alex took him back to the bedroom, went to the living room, and saw Elly with her handbag ready to leave.
It's too late today. You can stay here and have a rest.
Elly shook her head and refused firmly. "As you said, I just moved out of Aaron's house, and now I'm staying at your house. That's not appropriate."
She went straight to the door, followed by Alex. "I'll see you home"
This sentence was choked by the figure standing at Alex's door.
Aaron leaned against the car with a lighter in his hand and saw Elly coming out with joy in her eyes. "Get in the car! I'll take you home!"
Elly looked at him in surprise and doubted him. "Have you been waiting long? How did you know I was coming tonight?"
Aaron did not answer, but went to Alex and gave him a black bag. "I heard that today was Kitten's birthday celebration. This is a gift I prepared for him. I hope Alex won't refuse."
