Chapter 172: Chapter 172
Chapter 174 Private driver
Aaron's gift was stiff in mid-air, and no one received his lonely birthday bag. Alex frowned and did not speak or move.
Noticing the tension between the two, Elly hurriedly took the gift bag and calmed the atmosphere of the two. She pulled the mouth of the bag and looked in, pretending to make a fuss. "This is the limited version of Transformers! Kitten will surely love this."
As she spoke, Elly deliberately held Alex's hand, put down the gift in, and forced him to accept it. Alex immediately stared at her eyes and dared not shake his hand for fear that she would get hurt.
Elly spoke loudly, "Don't bother to walk me out. I'll hitch a ride with Aaron."
Elly turned and walked towards Aaron's high-wave car. When Aaron gave a challenging look at Alex, his face sparkled.
The butler rushed over and asked Alex to hand him over the gift bag. Anger rushed to the top of his head, and he threw it at random to the butler Gillian next to him. "Let me handle this."
The butler Gillian watched helplessly as the boss walked down his back, dizzy and did not know what to do with the valuable toy.
In the car, Elly looked at Aaron's eyes and asked bluntly, "Did you pick me up on purpose?"
He generously admitted that he was still in a good mood when he recalled Alex's jealous face. "I found out that he picked you up from the hotel to their house to attend Kitten's birthday celebration. I was so worried that I waited outside."
What Aaron said outside was very simple. In fact, he waited outside Alex's house for three hours. He was almost sure that Elly would sleep back to the shepherd's house tonight. He didn't expect her to walk out the door.
She knew his character. "You must have spent a long time waiting. Your voice is a little blaming. What have I done? When the party is over; he will naturally arrange for someone to take me home."
"I won't worry." Aaron's words were simple and clear, and Elly immediately understood and said nothing.
When he took her to the door of the hotel, Aaron remained silent until Elly was about to get off the car. Find the right house as soon as possible.
Her body was a little stiff and nodded. "I understand."
When he returned to his hotel room, the first thing Elly did was to send a message to Alex.
"I'm home."
There was no reply for more than five minutes. She was a little disappointed and tried again. "Are you mad at me?"
No, no. The news was astonishingly fast, proving that Mr. Alex had a cell phone and that he had read the text messages before, but did not want to answer them.
Elly was sure you are angry, but even if he is really angry? 'It's none of my business. He may be not interested. I texted on purpose. Well, it's good not to be angry. I'll go to bed.'
With a bang.
The news of that made her laugh. You can imagine how ugly Alex's face would be and how serious it is right now. It makes him unhappy. It feels great.
As she expected, Alex sat in the drawing-room, looking as dreary as a dead man. The maids around them cleaned up the battlefield easily after the party, and everyone hurriedly finished their work to avoid the terrible and gloomy atmosphere he created.
Ten minutes later, Elly did not send any more messages. Alex could not bear to hold the phone, his face wrinkled and annoyed.
The woman got into another man's car in front of him. Isn't she going to explain it to him?
The next day, before Elly woke up, the phone rang. She didn't even look at the screen and didn't bother to ask who it was.
"Hello?"
The low voice made Elly sits up reflectively, and then she heard his order. "I'll wait for you at the hotel restaurant on the first floor."
Elly glanced at her watch and did not ask him what was wrong instead she hung up.
She was not in the habit of taking a deep sleep, so when she woke up, she immediately went downstairs to have breakfast. She hurriedly fixed herself. She didn't know why he came to her in the morning, but she knew this man's temper. If he had to wait too long for others, he was willing to swear for no reason.
Walking out of the elevator and into the hotel restaurant, she saw Alex sitting on the table eating breakfast slowly.
"What do you want with me?" Elly sat in front of him and asked carelessly.
Instead of answering the question, he raised his hand and motioned to the waiter to pick up part of the breakfast.
Elly was impolite and asked while eating, "Don't tell me you came to me just for breakfast?"
"Why not?"
Elly's hands stopped before answering. She picked up the water cup next to her and stuffed the food down her throat. A pleasant and leisurely voice came from the opposite. Whenever I attend birthday celebrations at the weekend, I always stay up late and I don't like eating breakfast alone."
That's a hurtful excuse. She smiled and stopped caring about him and concentrated on her breakfast.
On the other hand, Kitten just woke up after a good night's sleep and did not know that his father had already gone out without him. He rushed out of the room and found the housekeeper Gillian, "Where's my mom?"
"Miss Elly didn't stay for the night last night."
The little face was sad and disappointed, lips and teeth depend on each other. "Gillian, it's me. I overslept last night, otherwise, I must have fooled my mother to sleep."
Housekeeper Gillian looked at his sad face and bowed his head to reproach him. He wanted him to forget the unhappy things, so he went into the living room with Kitten and took out a big box from the wardrobe.
Looking at the exquisite box in front of him, Kitten looked curious and nimbly exploited the gift, then cheered for joy. "Aah! Shapeshifters!"
The child held the toy in his arms and looked at the housekeeper in disbelief. "Mr. Gilliam, when did you become so generous? This is a limited edition, expensive, and difficult to buy."
Butler Gillian rubbed his head and said sincerely. "I didn't buy this. This is a birthday present from the man Miss Ely was with and handed it to master Alex."
"Who's that?"
"Mr. Aaron, does master Alex know him?"
As soon as the name was heard, he was dumbfounded, and the joy on his face took the place of disgust. The next second, he threw the box in his hand on the ground.
Kitten's behavior came all of a sudden so that the housekeeper Gillian did not have time to react. Although the housekeeper knew nothing about the toy, he knew that the toys were expensive, but they heard only 8-11 limited versions, but they were very expensive.
Dizzying, he jumped on the toy and stepped on some to be satisfied. He looked up at the housekeeper Gillian and shouted, "I don't like it, Mr. Russel, throw it away."
The butler Russe; sighed as he watched Kitten run upstairs and looked at the poor toys on the ground. "Wow, seems like both the father and the son hate the same person."
After having breakfast with Alex, Elly asked, "What do you want with me?"
"Come with me. I have something to do." Alex stressed this point. "If you don't go, I'll stay here all day."
Not because she was threatened, she compromised and walked to the door of the hotel. Elly was just curious.
The hotel staff respectfully handed the key to Alex. He threw the key at Elly and opened the seat door.
"At 08:30 in the morning, I had a glass of wine and couldn't drive. I'm driving!"
"What?" Elly looked at the key in horror and her voice was loud. "Do you want me to drive? You're worried that your life is too long, aren't you?"
"You know yourself very well. My life belongs to you. Suit yourself." Alex leaned his back against the seat and did not look at her as his eyes were closed.
Elly clearly remembers that he didn't drink at breakfast, which meant he was obviously playing with her.
"What? Are you afraid of dying?"
Alex's understated question aroused Elly's competitive nature. "OK, if you die, you will die. After today, do you still want to give me the steering wheel?"
She sat covetously in the driver's seat, glanced at the button and steering wheel, took a deep breath, and asked him. "Are you going to the office?"
"No, no." Alex opened his eyes and looked at his watch. "Go to the airport."
"The airport?" Elly frowned and questioned him suspiciously. "Are you on a business trip?"
Alex shook his head, looking mysterious. "You will know."
Elly ignored her doubts about it, started the vehicle carefully, and drove to the airport at a slow speed following Alex's instructions.
Along the way, Alex raised the corners of his mouth, and he secretly watched her concentrate on driving. Obviously, she was scared, but she was so brave that she didn't ask for help. Several times when she turned around, he quickly lowered his head and pressed the phone, which startled her. She got angry and really ignored him.
When the two arrived at the airport, Alex did not enter the waiting hall but stood outside waiting, making her even more confused.
After thinking for a long time, she said hesitantly. "Have you come to pick up the client? I'm not a driver and I'm not fit to stay."
Alex did not answer her and stared at the door of the airport hall. Suddenly his eyes lit up and held out his hand.
Elly followed suspiciously, and her eyes opened in the blink of an eye and covered her unbelieving mouth. What Alex wanted to pick up was secretary Gerald, who was known to be in a foreign country to get his treatment.
Secretary Gerald, dressed in a white shirt, suit trousers, a vest on his hand and a suitcase in the other hand, looked younger than the usual harsh secretary image.
As soon as he approached, he opened his mouth to tease. "Alex and a beautiful lady came to greet her. I am really moved."
Without waiting for Elly to answer, Alex spoke first." No, she's just a private chauffeur today."
