Chapter 169: Chapter 169
Chapter 171 Envy when romantic rivals meet
Kitten walked out of the bathroom, clean and wide awake. He ran to Elly and looked at John Elliot warily.
I thought Kitten would be afraid of him, so I introduced him. "Baby, this is mom's best friend. Say hello to Uncle Aaron."
Kitten was aware of guarding his prey like a small animal.
Seeing Elly shyly keeping her mouth shut, Aaron laughed easily. "Well, he must not be used to it."
She nodded, hugged Kitten, sat in front of him, and charged him, "Good boy, have breakfast first. I'll brush my teeth. I'll be right back."
There were only two people left at the table staring at each other. Aaron sighed in his heart that Elly was really back, and she looked exactly like her father.
Kitten saw that the handsome guy was not as serious as his father, and Kitten asked, "Do you like my mother?"
Excited by the straight forward question, he put his hand on the table and admitted it in a firm voice without hesitation, "Yes, I like your mother."
"I can't! I won't allow it!" Kitten, who spoke in a powerful tone. Kitten warned Aaron in a threatening tone. "No, no, no!!! You have no right to like my mother, she doesn't like you, she loves him. She will only be by my father's side. Leave her alone and get out!"
With the threat of the child's sweet and tender voice, he just deliberately made fun of him, he said with a wink, "Maybe you don't know, your mother likes me, and your father abandoned her."
"Liar!" Thinking about putting the steamed bread on the table, no matter how hot it was, he threw it at him as if he wanted to cry. "You're a bad man! She belongs to my father. She won't leave him. I won't give you a chance to get close to her."
Before Aaron understood what he was saying, Kitten suddenly jumped out of his chair and rushed to him.
"What happened? Did you want to sit next to me?" Aaron asked curiously, reaching out to lift him, but he was dodged and he beat him twice on the back of his hand.
Before he could open his mouth, he saw him squatting on the ground. Without giving John Elliot time to prepare, Kitten burst into tears.
It took him a few seconds to understand what he meant, as he gazed and analyzed the behavior of the five-year-old and concluded that the floor was not like a feather. Kitten, a schemer, was something to be deal with.
Elly came out of the bathroom and watched John Elliot sitting on a chair with his mouth open. Kitten grabbed his trouser bear in one hand and cried with his eyes in the other. She couldn't wait to come over. "What's going on? Why are you sitting on the floor?"
He couldn't take his eyes off and turned around, his face running snot and not saying a word, "I want to sit next to him, but he said I was just as bad as my father and should push me to the ground hard."
He never said that, but now, it made Aaron think otherwise. Aaron couldn't speak and choked upon his words, and now was just waiting for Elly's response.
Elly looked at Aaron in confusion and clumsily carried her son back to the same place, and first gently sweet-talked him, "Good boy, don't cry. I don't think so. Let's have breakfast."
After the incident with Kitten's scheme, the atmosphere at the dinner table was so quiet that Elly bowed her head and looked after Kitten to avoid looking into Aaron's eyes.
Kitten bit the steamed bread and raised his face to challenge John Elliot making him laugh a few times.
After breakfast, Aaron had to come to the company and watched him leave. Kitten finally showed a smile on his face.
Elly assisted Aaron out and they approached the elevator. She bowed her head and lowered her head slightly. She apologized for her childish behavior. She was too erratic.
Elly's tears were soft and real, but as she soon saw through the child's appearance, she wanted to keep her face, so she wasn't able to talk in the meantime.
"Don't worry, I don't mind making a mountain out of a molehill." Aaron waved and smiled generously. "But Leila, I have something to tell you."
"How's it going?" Elly did not expect what he meant, so she waited quietly.
Aaron looked her straight in the eye and slowly uttered serious words. "Now you don't owe me anything. We're all equal. So, can I date you?"
Elly was unprepared by the sudden confession of love. She stood up blankly and stammered. "Are you kidding me? We're not. We are neither friends nor brothers." He interrupted her words, with friendly eyes and a low voice to express his thoughts.
"I liked you from the first sight, you may be amused by the shock of a person, ten years older than you, but in the past year, my love for you was getting faster and faster. I didn't want to put you under pressure or be talked about, so instead, I became your friend. But the presence of Alexis Hargreaves made me realize that there was a great risk of losing you. Now, I hope you could give me a chance to prove it all, okay, Leila?"
A struggle? With Alex? Elly was like walking on a cloud. She was a stranger to his proposal. "Why do you have anything to do with Alex?"
"Wasn't he chasing you?" His voice was certain. "I know he was waiting for you at the company gate with flowers in his arms, and I also know that he has arranged a hotel for you."
"There was no point in looking at the hotel that Alex booked for me, so don't interfere at all. You can deny it all you want, but with how fast your chest is beating is suspicious."
"Okay, don't mention him. I was just talking to you about how I felt. I confessed my love, at least you can give me some reaction. What are you thinking right now? What do you think of me? Do you allow me to pursue you? He was staring at Elly as if she was the whole sky of his life.
The emotion gushing from his eyes made Elly feel some kind of invisible pressure, and she couldn't help but feel embarrassed.
Just then, Kitten put his head to the door of the room and shouted, "Mom!"
The cry was like a lifebuoy, she excused herself in a hurry. "The nursery called. I have to go back and pick him up." Then her feet disappeared quickly without answering Aaron as if they were oiled.
Elly leaving him behind made him feel sour, and her silence was really cruel. Sometimes, he wished he were stupid, maybe he can pretend he didn't know what she meant, that's great.
As soon as Aaron got out of the elevator, he met Alex Hargreaves standing next to the elevator and was waiting for the elevator.
The clear sky was always empty, and when I don't go to work during the day, I run into the hotel.
"I'm here to pick up my son." His nephew is with his mother. Alex was tall and arrogant with his hands in his trouser pockets. "But Boss Aaron was the one who was not fit to be here. The ugly face failed, for fear that it would not achieve its purpose when it came. What a pity! " Alex said.
His well-deserved satirical success made John Elliot look pale with anger. He came up to him, and they walked up and down with clenched teeth of the same height, word for word.
"Don't blow your own trumpet, this is temporary, I will not give up easily, between us, we do not know who is the ultimate winner."
Brother Alex giggled in his throat, then laughed even louder, and finally laughed. "Smile", he said coldly and arrogantly.
"I don't need to know who the ultimate winner is, but I know that the moment you bet his life, you lost the right to be recovered. An idiot like you was not worthy to say anything about loving her. " Ramona said.
Alex Hargreaves pushed Aaron out, proudly passing by, saying two words that could be heard. "Don't make me more ridiculous."
In the hotel room, Elly closed the door, went back to the coffee table, and carefully watched Kitten sitting on his melodious feet singing a cheerful song.
"Kitten, let's talk."
The child saw that something was wrong and nodded nervously.
He watched Elly as she sat in front of him, plucking up his courage and looking with innocent curiosity. "Mom Elly, what do you want to talk about?"
She was not fooled by the naive big eyes and the questions asked in a low voice, "Did Uncle Aaron really push you to the ground?"
Didn't she cry out of breath when she saw me fall to the ground? "Focus on the question and answer vaguely."
Elly was not easily deceived. She repeated the question patiently. "For the last time I ask you, did Uncle John push you to the ground?? She stressed this point when she saw that his lips ready to pretend to cry. Mothers hate their children for lying!
He burst into tears, and Kitten bowed his head and admitted in a low voice. "I sat on the ground by myself."
Her anger was greatly alleviated by his honesty. "Why did you tell me that he pushed you to the ground? What were you doing that for?"
"Because he likes my mother. I won't allow him to like you". Kitten strutted and spoke forcefully.
In an instant, the round eyes flashed an expression of tenacity and boldness, and Kitten's inexplicable reason almost coincided with Alex's. She sighed in her heart whether the father's resemblance was good or bad.
"Whether he likes me or not, this was an adult's business, and children are not allowed to interfere. You both lie and want to slander others because it is wrong for any reason. Good boy, no one tells lies, kid, don't ever do that again, am I clear?"
He knew in his heart that he had made a mistake, but he did not regret it. "I won't lie anymore, but I won't be polite either. I hate him and I wish I never met him!"
"That's my friend."
"Friends are not in love with each other. He likes you and he will take you away from my father. He is a useless husband because he cannot take care of you. I will take care of you and won't let that annoying uncle near you." Kitten raised his fist to show his determination.
Elly choked up on her saliva and could not speak. When she turned to think about the sermon, her brain wanted to explode so that her son would stop saying classic words on TV.
The doorbell kept interrupting the speech that was about to blurt out, and Elly came out impatiently to open the door and said anxiously. "Who's that? Am in trouble early in the morning?"
Alex's tall body went into his eyes, his eyebrows stretched out and his shoulders murmured to himself. "Is that you?"
