Chapter 123: Chapter 123

Chapter 125 John is Dead!

The phone was connected and John's anxious voice replied hurriedly. "The wedding is about to begin, isn't it? Come on." Elly asked.

"I am on my way." John replied.

"Be careful. I'll wait for you." Elly breathed a sigh of relief. "I am afraid that you would not come."

Her voice was a little sad, and she didn't want to force him, but also wanted to be blessed.

John smiled and he comforted her. "What are you talking about? Of course I'll come to your wedding. It is said that wearing a wedding dress is the most beautiful moment for a girl, and I must see the beauty of you. You are my only family; how can I not be with you at this precious moment?"

Elly was moved by John's words and her eyes were teary.

"Elly, you are the most important person. I want you to be happy."

She laughed it off, burst into tears and touched the phone screen. She wiped it off clumsily with her fingers, and John's voice was still ringing on the phone.

"I am parked across the street and is getting off."

The closing of the car door sounded in the background, then pierced her ear with a shrill sound, and the cell phone signal was cut off.

"Hello?" Elly's lips lit his name.

No response.

Her heart cramped inexplicably, as if she felt something wrong and instinctively rushed out of the dressing room, her eyes covered with tears.

Alex was talking to a regular guest when he saw Elly hurriedly holding a skirt running out from behind. He tried to stop her, questioning, but she rudely pushed him away.

"Dear, what's wrong? What happened? "Alex was unexpectedly pushed down a few steps and bumped into the waiter carrying champagne.

The champagne glass fell on the floor and shattered, the shrill noise made Elly run faster, and the premonition in her mind made her not care about anyone.

Alex saw that something was wrong and followed her out.

She doesn't know how many guests Elly knocked down while running and when she arrived at the door of the hotel, the sight outside made her almost drowsy.

John lay in a pool of blood; his body was motionless. At this time, his consciousness was barely holding up, he was in his last breath, and he reached out the broken phone and consciously said that there was an important person waiting for him in the inanimate object. But before he could touch the phone, his consciousness was swallowed up by the darkness. He could not hear the heinous voice from the opposite side.

Elly watched her friend body lying in a pool of blood, staring blankly at the blood stains extending to the backside of the car, and behind the steering wheel was Emily's murderous eyes. She laughed madly.

Alex followed, shocked by what was in front of him, and hurriedly stopped Elly from almost stumbling towards John. Her face was pale and her eyes hurt him.

"Dear, don't come any closer. I'll call an ambulance."

Like a deaf peson, Elly can't hear anything. When her hand was about to touch John's still body, he held her hand. He grabbed her by the chin, forced her to look at his face, and shook his head to try to convince her.

"If we touch him, it may worsen. I already called an ambulance. They are coming soon."

Elly looked at the face of her friend, his eyes are no longer open, watched the pool of blood on the ground, distressed that he was out of breath.

Her hand was tightly wrapped on him until the ambulance arrived. She doesn't remember how she got to the hospital and stood outside the emergency operating room waiting.

The emergency room was brightly lit, and after a while the door of the operating room finally opened. Elly staggered up to meet the doctor.

"How's my friend? Is he all right? May I visit him?"

"Relax mam, Please." The doctor calmed the patient's family before announcing with a heavy voice seemed to carry a sedative.

"We have done our best and the patient will soon be transferred to the intensive care unit." He hit hard and was run over several times, causing visceral damage. There was a lot of blood loss specially on the abdominal area and serious head injury. If he doesn't make it through the night, I'm afraid that the worst can happens, the patient's family should be prepared."

Her heart was torn, the air no longer entered her lungs, and Elly's body poured back down.

The following day.

Alex was always by her side and quickly supported her.

Her spirit almost broke down, she trembled all over, there was not a drop of tears on her face, and she muttered to herself unconsciously. "That's not going to happen. He'll be fine. He promised to come at my party, he never broke his promise. You want to see me in my wedding dress? Right? I'll wear it. Look I'll wear it for you."

Her hands clasped the dirty wedding dress and held it high, as if to prove her words.

Alex held her soft body in his arms and followed painfully to appease Elly's uneasiness. "Yes, John is very strong. He will be all right. Everything will be all right. Nothing will happen."

Elly nodded her head like a fool and burst into tears with a smile on his face. The doctor stood by and said something to Alex, but she couldn't understand it.

When the doctor left, Alex was still holding Elly's back, stroking it and say nothing. Until later, Elly pushed him away and stood upright with her eyes rickety. He hurriedly took her hand and asked anxiously. "What do you want to do?"

Her face was serious and calmed, but nearly begging. Then she said "Take me to the police station."

"You're emotionally unstable right now. How about tomorrow?" Alex suggested.

"Oh, my God, I'm begging you."

Alex shook his head and his eyes were firm and wayward. He is always a loser. He took off his jacket and put it over her shoulder. The warmth in her clothes was not enough to warm Elly's cold body, but she also relied on Alex's hug upon leaving the hospital together.

At the police station, Elly had a chance to meet Emily and asked if he could accompany her. He wanted to go in with her, but Elly refused.

"This is a family matter and a personal one. I am her relative. I want to deal with it myself. There's something I need to ask from her."

"Well then I'll wait outside. Nobody will touch nor lay a hand on you. This is the police station. I'm not worried that you are in danger."

Elly followed the police into the interrogation room. Emily sat opposite side of the table and leaned her back on the chair. The arrogant face showed no remorse, just as what she had done was small.

She tried to restrain herself and conceal her true feelings with calmness, but her lips trembled as she spoke. "Why? Why do you want to hurt every important people that revolve in my world? What did he do that you need to be cruel on him? We are talking about human life here; it is not a joke. You have neither guilt nor regret for killing an innocent man?"

"Guilty? This is ridiculous." Emily laughed out of breath and said brutally. "If he hadn't brought you back a year ago, he would not experience this. This is the punishment for his crime."

Emily stared at her, her eyes sparkling in madness. "Obviously, he was watching you by my side. No one dared to approached Alex other than me. I was always the mistress of Alex. He foolishly brought you back and handed you over to Alex, which is the cause of today's consequences."

"What are you talking about?" Elly could not understand her, and the policeman in charge stood up. If Emily did something radical, he was willing neutralize her.

Her crazy laughter spread all over the room. "John was so naive. Does he think Alex thanked him for his withdrawal? No, Alex hate to lose, so he doesn't value this stupid sacrifice."

"What do you mean?" Elly was relieved and vaguely aware of terrible things.

Emily smiled clean and vivid. "You should ask Alex what he did? Didn't you see how familiar the car was? Do you think I'll get his car keys without the owner's permission?"

Elly was startled, his body froze, and his voice opened unconsciously. "Did he order you to do this?"

"Oh? Are you still denying it?" Emily stood up steps forward, closer to Elly, and the guard policeman stood in the middle, ready to protect Elly. She was so dismissive.

"Four years ago, when Alex saw you traveling with John, he wanted to take action because you've lost your memory, so I want to tell you something interesting. Because four years ago, he wanted to take you back. If it hadn't been for that car accident, John would surely disappear from your story."

Elly was satisfied with Emily's lies. "Irony. Alex did not allow anyone to touch what belonged to him. Even if he doesn't fall in love with it."

Elly sat in a chair, stiffed, expressionless and received more information than her brain could handle.

Then suddenly.

Her phone rang, which made Elly's body react. It's a call from the hospital.

"Your friend John has passed away."

Elly's broken heart could not hold up any longer, the breath was completely snatched from her nose, and the savage smile of Emily was all on her. As soon as her eyes lit up, her consciousness was engulfed by darkness, and Elly fainted on the spot.

When Elly woke up, the sky outside was already dark. The nurse said she was in the hospital. When she thought of this, she thought of John and immediately stood up without worrying about something wrong with her health.

The dextrose needle came out of her hand, and the dextrose bottle fell in the face of Alex, who was sleeping by the side of bed, jumped up in panic.

"What are you doing? It's still has water on it and there's another bottle." Alex hugged her and felt her body vibrate. He didn't care much and pressed her back onto the bed.

"Let me go! I want to see John. You need to take me there. Let me go." Elly waved her arm, pulled the needle hard and kicked her foot at Alex.

"John is dead." Alex growled, and the cold voice pierced Elly's ear to her brain.
