Elly's body was so tired that she slept for two days in a row. John had been by her side since then,.

It was only the second day after Elly was hospitalized that Emily appeared, and she was surprised to see John.

"You're here? Haven't you gone abroad yet? Why are you here?" Emily asked in surprise, a faint fear hidden in her chest.

"I came back to take care of Elly." John was used by her several times, she was different from Elly. He knew very well what an insidious woman she was.

"Don't bother." There was a growing panic inside, and she tried to keep a calm appearance and spoke in a friendly way with a smile. "Now, I have a good relationship with my sister Elly, so you can go now and I will take care of her. And don't interfere in our relationship anymore."

He gave her a knife and then slapped her gently. "It's hard for you to be a double-faced person."

"Even if we have a cooperative relationship, don't you dare interrupt me, I won't leave you alone." Emily gritted her teeth. "Now, I am most concerned about the health of Elly. Don't get me wrong."

"Oh yeah?" John laughed and stood up. His originally warm eyes suddenly stared at Emily sharply that she got so frightened that he could not explain.

As he approached step by step, Emily stepped back, full of vigilance and his voice remained vigilant. "What do you want to do? Elly is asleep. As long as I shout, she will wake up."

John smiled from ear to ear under the threat of Emily. "Are you scared? If you didn't do anything wrong, why would you panic?"

"Who? Who panicked? I didn't." Emily's eyes sparkled and her tone of denial was much weaker. She did not know why he came back from abroad, and the temperament of John was very different.

"While we were in the hospital, your sister took care of you day and night without rest, resulting into exhaustion. You just said that the relationship between you two sisters has improved, so are you here to take care of Elly today?"

"How did you know I was hospitalized?"

"I have many ways to get information." John stayed at close range and looked at Emily in disgust. "Your patience with yourself is scarier than I thought. In order to win Elly's trust, you are willing to hurt herself."

When Emily heard what he said, she was more afraid than proud. She giggled. "It's something like that. She's not hurt, and no one's found out yet."

John looked back at Elly still sleeping in bed, his voice sour. "Exhausted for taking care of a swindler, but people don't remember her kindness and dedication, they just want to escape from taking care of her when she is sick. Return the favor with complaints, only you can do that, Emily."

Emily can't pretend to be stupid and wanted to make excuses. "You don't have to look down on me. Do you think I'm avoiding to take care of Elly? The Russel family is bankrupt and my father is in poor health. I was looking for a job and was also taking care of him at the same time. I'm too helpless, and I can't split up."

"You are so great." John nodded in praise.

His sarcastic tone infuriated Emily, who limped with exasperation. "Aren't you taking care of Elly? Then, I don't want to disturb you here."

She looked covetously through John, her shoulders deliberately aimed at his body, and his calm voice chased Emily in his footsteps. "You should be careful with what you do."

John is deaf and did not hear the warning.

John returned to the bedside and looked at Elly intently, with a rampant annoyance in his heart.

When Elly woke up, the first thing she saw was the white ceiling, and then the lonely figure lying beside the hospital bed.

Tearful eyes, her blurred mind can't tell the truth from the false or the dream. "Is that John? Why is he here? How's the arm treatment going?"

Elly did not need to scream, John gradually woke up, and his sleepy eyes touched Elly's wet eyes and suddenly realized.

"What happened? What's wrong? Where does it hurt? Do you want me to call a doctor?"

The warmth she didn't feel long ago made her tears fall. The trembling voice proved that she did not believe that the scene in front of her was real. "So, is it really you? Isn't this a dream?"

"I never dreamed that you really came back." Elly gently wiped her tears.

His behavior naturally made Elly see that his family had not seen him for a long time. The familiarity of his family is different from that of the Russel family. She came and hugged him like a little brother.

John was surprised by this enthusiasm, and there was a soft smile at the corners of his mouth. "I have been back home for two days now, and I took care of you with pajamas for two days. Aren't you going to welcoming me"

"Slept for two days?" Elly let him go and grabbed her naked nose. "I think I've been a little busy lately, and I'm still young, so I think I have a subjective view of my health." She realized that John was not happy with the hasty answer and hastened to change the subject. "Aren't you abroad? How's your hand?"

He raised his hand and lied calmly. "I came back because there was something to deal with."

John did not say the real reason why he came back. He knew Elly's character, and if she found out that he gave up his treatment, she will continue to blame herself. Not only was Elly under pressure to be blamed with what happened to his arm, but he was also very unhappy in his relationship.

Seeing that John's hand had healed, the stone pressed in Elly's heart was removed. She never doubted what he said.

When she was at eased, John smiled and breathed a sigh of relief. "It's a good thing my hand is back to normal, or you'll be guilty for the rest of your life."

John smiled faintly, because he could no longer hold a scalpel for the rest of his life, and he did not regret it.

Under John's doting eyes, she was a little unnatural, licked her lips, and then asked cautiously. "To you and Miss Sarah. Are you both OK? You've been taking care of me for two days."

He did not expect that she would mention Sarah Olsen now. His face changed, but he was soon adjusted. "She has just found a job abroad and has no time to spend together."

Elly sneaked a sigh of breath. She was afraid that their relationship would be affected by her. "You kindly advised me. Miss Sarah is a good girl. You should cherish her."

John answered a few tears and quickly turned the awkward topic around. "You slept for two days. You must be hungry. I can buy whatever you want."

Elly bent her eyes and looked at him, and his evil smile listed a lot of dishes. John looked at her doting and went shopping.

The door of the room was closed and the smile in her lips was extinguished.

John was as thoughtful and meticulous as he had been for many years, and had never refused her request. Intimacy made her want to rely on him, and she longed for it. But it was because of her sense of dependence that she thought she loved John herself, and she didn't understand what love was until she met Alex.

"Okay, I'm sorry." Elly read what was buried in his eyes, and her voice sounded confused in the silence.

John came back with foods in his hand and saw a suspicious figure walking back and forth in front of Elly's ward in the distance. He was afraid that Emily would walk faster than him so he moved, and he frowned when he realized who it was.

Alex looked at John in astonishment. He had not received any notice from his subordinates about John's arrival. "When did you return home?"

Alex looked at the duffel bag in his hand, which was Elly's favorite dish.

"Just when I heard the news that Elly fainted and was admitted to the hospital."

For John's feelings, Alex was not angry and his voice was calm. "Have you been monitoring the condition of Elly?"

John was puzzled and asked angrily. "Thanks to you for taking her away many times, you kept her by means and didn't want to let go. Why did you let her go this time? Is that what you call compensation?"

How much worry turned into anger, John vented everything on Alex. "You don't deserve Elly's love. You said you fell in love, but it's easy for you to let go. You don't deserve her feelings."

Alex did not retort, nor did he defend himself. He spoke neatly in one sentence. "I embarrassed her."

"You failed, under Emily's trick."

Both men understand that the relationship between the Russel family and Alex is the cause of Elly's pain and dilemma.

John regretted going abroad from the moment he learned about things. If at first, he was determined to stay in Italy, even if Elly and Alex were engaged, he should have still protected her silently. If it were him, he would never let her suffer and be too tired to be hospitalized.

"There is no point in arguing now. You really love her, you should solve the awkward situation by yourself, not let her make a choice. You can't do simple things for the one you love, so let me do it. I'm going to take her away from you and never come back."
