Chapter 109: Chapter 109
Chapter 111 Information concealed by subordinates
John looked up to Alex, pushed the door of the ward, walked in and slammed it.
John's tone was not very good, but Alex realized that she had given him one last chance. John always put Elly on everything that's why she said she believed what he said.
When Elly heard the two men talking, she carefully looked at John's face full of nonsense. "What are you talking about?"
"It's nothing." No matter how much Elly heard, John was not going to say it. He put the food in the cupboard, and his calm movements were not pleasant or sad.
Knowing that he didn't want to continue the conversation, Elly explained hesitantly. "Actually, I left Alex on my own choice, and it has nothing to do with Brotherhood."
"Are you defending him?" He looked at her with curiosity.
Elly was speechless for a moment.
Stunned for a moment, John continued. "I thought you hated him."
John's words made Elly think endlessly, and there were a lot of unclear things in her mind, which go around and overlap. The headache came again, which made her stop thinking, gasped for air, and could not bear to raise her head and smile at John.
"I don't remember what they said, and I don't know if they were right or wrong. Obviously, everyone is telling about your past, but I don't get emotion through stories. I'm like an outsider, listening to other people's stories."
John stopped laying out the food, put down his hand and looked at her quietly.
"Should I hate Alex? But why should I hate him? In my memory and understanding, there is how good he was to me. People say he's close to trying to use me, but I haven't seen myself being used, at least so far, he hasn't hurt me."
Elly wanted to hate Alex very much, but she can't hate him, she hadn't done it yet, how can there be a feeling of hatred?
"Who should I trust?" She tilted her head, her eyes blurred.
"You can trust me." John replied gently that he didn't need to fight for it, and Elly had always trusted him.
"Have you ever thought about the future? What are you going to do?" John didn't force her to answer. He saw through Elly's thoughts and brought her back to reality.
As he watched the grudging smile and her shoulders went down, John approached her, held the pale hand that was thinner than his, and sighed and suggested. "Would you like to go abroad with me? At least there won't be too much chaos there to disturb your life."
"You don't have to do this." Elly drew his hand with his dumbfounded eyes. She knew her reaction was quite strong, but her voice firmly refused. "I've found a new job with a high salary and a stable place. I'm not close to the company, but I'm comfortable. I am very satisfied with my life now. So, you know I don't want to rely on others."
She strutted into John's sight and said confidently. "I know you're worried about me, but I want to be independent."
Looking at her confident face, John could not help but reach out and wipe her head. It's not that he doesn't believe in Elly's ability, he just doesn't want her to struggle in life.
The act of John stroking her head made Elly blush. She bowed her head and accidentally saw the luggage in the corner of the room.
"Why would you go to the hospital and see me as soon as you get off the plane?"
Before she asked the question, he gently stroked her head with his hand. John scratched her nose and did not answer.
Elly found something suspicious sensitively, and she hurriedly persuaded him. "I already told you a while ago, didn't I? I've been taking care of you in the hospital for two days, and I'm exhausted. I will go home now and have a rest. I miss you so much."
"I'm fine." Elly smiled and caressed his anxious eyes. "I fainted because I didn't have a good rest for a long time. Two days' sleep is enough. My natural health is fine. Don't get sick. But if you do, I'll take care of you.
John knew that she pretended to smile, she was very miserable to still managed to be polite in order not to disturb others. But he didn't let her down. He obediently agreed. "All right, you rest. You go home."
The door closed, the smile on Elly's lips went out, and the room was filled with a lazy sigh.
"Thank you! I know you're nice to me, but everything is so messed up and I don't want to affect your life right now."
Elly frowned on Sarah Olsen and sighed again.
John suddenly returned to the Elliot family's mansion. He did not inform his mother about his arrival. And she was stunned.
"Really?" Ms. Elliot looked carefully, identified the right son, and hurried to his hand and gently shook his hand. "When did you get back? Is the treatment done? Didn't the doctor said he needed more time? How's your hand?"
Not letting him answer, Mrs. Elliot looked back and raised suspiciously in her eyes. "Why are you alone? Where's Sarah? Isn't she with you?"
" Sarah has just found a job and cannot ask for leave to return home. I have something to do. I would go back to her soon." John answered hastily. The love of Mrs. Elliot's son made him disrespectful. He did not mention Elly because he left Sarah Olsen abroad, which would only make Ms. Elliot hate Elly even more.
When she heard that Sarah Olsen had stabilized her job, Ms. Elliot was very satisfied and her voice was no less than joy. Sarah Olsen is a good woman, resourceful and clever. "You should cherish her. Not everyone is lucky to find the perfect partner in all aspects, you should not lose your marriage."
John turned around, pulled the luggage to the sofa and sat down so that Ms. Elliot won't see the rebellious expression on his face. She followed and went on talking.
"I have something to tell you. Before the two of you went abroad, Sarah came to persuade her mother to stop interfering in her life. In order for your hand to be treated, Sarah is willing to give up her family's all-inclusive life and go abroad with you to start anew. As long as you love her, Sarah will never betray you, nor will she hurt you."
Ms. Elliot's reminder made John hold the sparkling water cup tightly in his hand. He was silent, but his heart was rough. Ms. Elliot was right on this point. Whether he like Sarah Olsen or not, he should not let her down.
John also told her, "Don't worry, mom. I won't leave Sarah alone for too long."
The satisfied smile on Ms. Elliot's face still does not promote unease, and she wanted to know more important questions. "Have you ever met Elly?"
He was a little uneasy because his lies made him afraid to look her in the eye. "Didn't you see me go straight home after I got off the plane?"
No one really knew his mother, and his lies would soon be revealed, she asked ruthlessly. "You went to see Elly, right? Is she the reason why you suddenly came back? So, what do you think would Sarah feel?"
"Mom, don't be paranoid. As soon as I got off the plane, I hurried back to our house. There's no time to see her."
"Try not to see each other." Ms. Elliot saw that his attitude was firm and quickly believed that his voice was not yet depressed. "The Russel family is so pathetic now that I have as little contact with Elly as possible. Anyway, her surname is Russel."
John stood up, took the luggage and went back to his room. "I am tired, I should go to bed early." He doesn't want to hear any more bad things about Elly.
The way he dodged alerted Ms. Elliot. She must not let John and Elly get back together. She should call Sarah Olsen back home.
In Alex's most luxurious office, Alex, with a dark complexion, refused to do all the work in the afternoon and did not even want to receive guests.
The staff of the company were afraid to get inside his office, so every time the office door would open, Alex couldn't help but shout.
"Get out!"
"Don't you want to see me either?"
The familiar voice made Alex hold his head high. Eyes full of disgust and disappointment were thrown at Brandon with a cold attitude. "What happened? If it's not important, get out. I don't want to see you now."
"Are you angry?" Brandon asked deliberately, his eyes were out of harmony and his voice was like the one who teased you to listen. "Can you treat your friend like a normal visitor even if he's just an outsider?"
"Looking for a friend? My friend, what should I decide?" Furious, Alex slammed his hand on the table, stood up and looked at Brandon angrily. "Rest easy. We are brothers. I admire you very much and value your talent very much. Since you joined the job, your work efficiency has been very good, which doesn't mean you can interfere in my private affairs!"
"Important work should not be ruined by a girl." Brandon sticked to his position. "Yes, after Elly was admitted to the hospital, your subordinates had to report that I had stopped you. You did not complete this task. Although Elly was hospitalized, he was still in good health.
"Shut up!" Alex thought that he had to put Elly in the hospital for two days, leaving no one to take care of her, and he became angrier with the thought.
Elly has no relatives around her, so she must be very lonely.
