Chapter 7: Chapter 7
The party ended, and Primrose had to move to Joel's house to stay. The two were already husband and wife, and living together suddenly became legal. Although Primrose wanted to hide, her clothes and belongings were soon sent to Joel's house, unchangeable.
So, in front of the harsh gazes of adults, she could only try to be happy and get in Joel's car to return with him. In her heart, she cried silently, not knowing what her future would be like. When the car pulled to a stop, Primrose knew her anxious moment had come and quietly looked around. Joel helped her open the car door. She slowly got up and couldn't help but admire the luxury of the house Joel was living in.
Indeed, the residence of a billionaire. This is a villa located in the most expensive residential area in the city; the price is more than just the word "expensive."
The villa looked spacious at first glance, and Primrose thought it might be larger than the lavish hotel they had gotten married in. There is also a small flower garden in front of the house, and the path is also paved with shiny stone.
Primrose's family was very rich, but in front of the wealth of the mansion Joel was living in, she was somewhat inferior.
"In the future, this will be your home."
Joel patted Primrose's head and spoke, making her heart flutter slowly because of the words "your home".
Joel has thought many times about the wonderful prospect that after he and Primrose get married, he and she will lie on the same big bed, cuddle up to sleep, and every morning when they wake up, they will see each other first. However, reality quickly overwhelmed him at Primrose's words as he entered the house.
"Where is my room?"
Primrose calmly looked at Joel. Although his words touched her just now, and his defense of her against Wavy's malicious words also comforted her, there was no denying the fact that they weren't inherently familiar enough to have a relationship. You can share a room even when you've just met. A relationship that develops from a one-night stand still takes time to think about.
It must be known that Primrose's previous one-night stands had all been quickly deleted by her after the night they slept together. Until now, Joel is the only lover she can have.
"Hmm, where could it be? My wife?"
Joel calmed down after a few seconds of surprise, pressed his hand against the wall to hold Primrose, and then laughed very suggestively, deliberately emphasizing Primrose's identity. Primrose rolled her eyes at him, then followed Joel's tone in response.
"So what? Does your big billion-dollar mansion like this only have one bedroom? Stop telling jokes."
Her belongings had been moved into Joel's room at the discretion of her parents. Primrose brushed past Joel and went upstairs, opening the doors of each room and looking for Joel's room. She dragged the suitcases out of the room one by one, found the room farthest away from Joel's, and then put her things in, casually nodding her chin at Joel behind her.
"Aren't you a man? Seeing me carry so many things and still stand still and watch, won't you help?"
Joel smiled softly as he approached Primrose, his cool breath suddenly lingered around, making Primrose momentarily dumbfounded, before she heard his cheerful voice.
"Am I a man? Aren't you the one who knows best?"
Primrose understood that she could not defeat this man, stomped her feet, and continued to move. Fortunately, Joel didn't talk to her anymore, obediently helping her pack up. Anyway, he had a long time to let Primrose adjust to being his wife.
"Primrose, if you have trouble sleeping tonight, you can come to my room. I wouldn't mind doing “a few things” to make it easier for you to fall asleep."
After cleaning up, Joel turned around and said a joke, deliberately lowering his voice to sound sexier. Primrose was angry but didn't know what else to do. She bit her lips to push Joel out of the room, slamming the door in front of him.
"Nonsense, I never come knocking on your door."
After Joel left, Primrose lay lazily in bed, slowly adjusting to her unfamiliar surroundings. From that fateful day at the bar, her life seemed to have completely changed, completely beyond her control. The wedding also happened so quickly that, to this day, she still does not believe they are real.
At this moment, the phone rang, and Primrose tiredly pressed it.
"Primrose, how are you? Does living in the most expensive mansion in the city make you extremely happy?"
This tone was both agitated and lacking in seriousness, but no one else dared to say that except Nancy. Primrose looked around and sighed.
"This house is indeed built with money, a nightlight is probably equal to my salary for a year as a working person."
This also made Nancy laugh, Primrose is, of course, not that poor. Primrose could have completely joined her parents' company, but because she wanted to become more independent, she opened a fashion shop by herself, working hard every day. Because of this spirit, right from the first contact, Nancy was attracted to her and became a close friend.
"That sounds pitiful, Primrose. So what are your plans tonight? Going out for a romantic candlelit dinner, and then at night doing some "stimulating" things the newlyweds do?"
These not very "pure" words made Primrose suddenly remember Joel's words earlier. She smacked her lips, the people around her really weren't decent.
"Take back your silly thoughts. I don't have an appointment tonight, do you want to eat together at a newly opened restaurant near my company?"
Although Nancy really wants to go to that junk restaurant, she can't ruin Primrose's family's happiness.
"For tomorrow, stay at home and have dinner with your poor husband today. It's heartless of you to abandon him in the big house."
Primrose pouted. Joel doesn't look like someone who needs to be taken care of.
The two talked for a while and then hung up, and Primrose packed her things into the large cupboards in the room, unnoticed, until it was dark.
"Primrose?"
Primrose heard Joel's voice outside the room door, quickly opened the door, and continued to turn around and prepare the rest of the things in the room. However, as soon as she turned around, her feet caught on a small suitcase placed on the floor, she lost her balance, and she staggered. Just as Primrose closed her eyes to feel the impending pain, a steady hand wrapped around her waist, an unfamiliar masculine scent enveloping her body.
"How? Rushing into my lap?"
Joel kept his original wobbly pose, stroking Primrose's waist lightly, causing her face to turn red. She pushed his hand away and stood up, ignoring him and continuing to put clothes in the closet.
"Primrose, aren't you going to have dinner? Leave it for a while, and then pack up, I'll help you."
Primrose was still sulking over what she said earlier, so she replied in a loud voice.
"I'm not hungry."
At this moment, her stomach growled uncontrollably, making the blush on Primrose's face all the more obvious. Joel couldn't help but laugh out loud, patting Primrose's head lightly.
"Okay, let's go, don't mistreat your belly. I'll take you out to eat delicious food."
Primrose bit her lip and followed, thinking what a shame today was. Unexpectedly, in front of Joel, she could do such embarrassing things.
"Why go so slow? Come here."
Joel saw Primrose with her face down, pitifully behind, smiled lightly, took her hand, let their hands clasp, and walked forward with her. Primrose's heart rate slowly increased, little by little.
