Chapter 8: Chapter 8
Finally, as Nancy said, Primrose and Joel had dinner together in a luxurious five-star restaurant, surrounded by warm golden candles. The scene is so romantic that there are a few bright red rose petals on the table, and the soft violin sound resounds around, making Primrose suddenly feel as if she and Joel are a couple in love.
Primrose was taken aback by this sudden thought, biting the fork in her hand.
"What's wrong? Isn't the food here delicious?"
Joel saw Primrose on the opposite side in a daze, handed her a plate of pre-cut steak, and asked softly. The overly flattering sound made Primrose shake her head, dispelling her embarrassment by eating a piece of beef that had been cut into small pieces. How can it not be delicious, The price of each dish in this restaurant is very expensive, she is "indirectly" eating those US dollars. Of course, they must be fine food.
"How old are you? Why aren't you so careful when eating?"
While Primrose wasn't paying attention, there was a small streak of sauce left on her lips from the steak earlier. Without waiting for Primrose to react, Joel bent to stand up, approached with a tissue, and gently helped Primrose wipe the corner of her lips.
Thrust thump.
Primrose could feel her heart beating inexplicably fast. She tilted her head slightly at Joel, blinking at him.
From Joel's perspective, the girl next to her was blinking her long eyelashes, her eyes were soft as if filled with water. The soft yellow candlelight shines on each line of Primrose's face harmoniously, making her less thorny but extremely gentle. Her soft lips became more and more attractive, and Joel remembered the softness of her lips when the two kissed, suddenly feeling bitter and dry, clearing his throat.
"Primrose, if you look at me like that again, I'll kiss you."
Primrose quickly pulled back, stepped back, and looked at the waiter, who was standing not far away. Joel returned to his seat as if nothing had happened, but the tip of his ear was already slowly turning red.
Indeed, he should not get too close to Primrose, or he would not be able to hold back.
"Tomorrow, you and I will visit my parents."
Joel changed the topic so that they both forgot the previous accompaniment note. Primrose nodded, then suddenly remembered her striking hair color and hesitated.
"Hey, do I need to dye my hair back?"
At first, because she wanted to avoid this reluctant marriage, she found all sorts of ways to anger Joel's family. The original goal was not achieved, and now she did not want to rebel anymore. After all, Joel's parents are also her husband's parents, and she still wants to live with them peacefully.
"It's up to you, my parents are not strict, don't worry. It's okay if you want to have this hair color, platinum suits you very well."
Joel casually replied that his parents liked her since seeing Primrose's photo, and after that meeting, they also said that they liked her straightforward personality and personality. Moreover, Joel also doesn't want Primrose to change because of him, she should live the way she wants.
Primrose nodded, still deciding she needed to go to the salon with Nancy tomorrow and dye her hair a darker color. Anyway, she doesn't want to receive all kinds of admiring glances from people around her every time she goes out, her platinum hair color is too prominent.
The two of them finished their dinner and went home together, Primrose rubbing her small stomach, silently exclaiming that she had eaten too much today.
After arriving home, Primrose quickly ran ahead, fearing that Joel would drag her back to his room with the excuse of wanting to spend a special "first night" with her after marriage. However, Joel also did not intend to bully Primrose at this time, watching her small figure disappear from sight and smiling.
The time was still long, and he did not believe Primrose could hide for the rest of his life.
The next day, Primrose got up early, as usual, to go to work. She thought, with a director of a large company like Joel, he must have gone out early, but when she went downstairs, she still found him leisurely drinking coffee and reading the newspaper.
"Are you wake up? Come here for breakfast."
The maid aunt had come early in the morning to prepare food for the two of them, and seeing Primrose, she gently pulled a chair for her.
"Miss Primrose, my name is May, and I am in charge of cooking and cleaning the house every morning and evening."
Primrose nodded in understanding, intently enjoying her breakfast. She was in a good mood, but feeling Joel's gaze as if it were not there, passing over her, made Primrose shiver.
"Do you have something to say?"
Finally, Primrose couldn't hold it any longer and asked softly. Joel put down his coffee cup, smiling elegantly with his chin.
"No, just admiring that my wife is beautiful even when she eats breakfast."
Joel's words indeed still carry the same teasing as ever. After hearing that, Primrose treated him directly like air, quietly eating the sandwich in his hand. This man was obviously mentally unstable, she didn't need to pick up on him.
After finishing her breakfast, Primrose took her car keys and headed for the door. However, before she could take two steps, the person behind her pulled her back, causing her to almost crash into his sturdy chest.
"Let me take you to work, sweetie."
Joel snatched the key from Primrose's hand and threw it on the dining table, leisurely shoving his hands in his pockets and walking ahead. Primrose didn't want to argue with him anyway, it was convenient to have someone drive her to work.
Right now it's not rush hour, so the traffic is not too crowded, it only takes about fifteen minutes, and the car has stopped in front of Primrose's company. Primrose opened the car door and wanted to get out, when suddenly Joel pulled her arm lightly, and a lazy voice sounded.
"I had to take you to work the other way around, don't you want to give me something in return?"
Primrose sighed, evidently, as she expected, this man was not so nice.
"So what do you want?"
Joel unbuckled his seat belt, turned quickly, and kissed Primrose on the lips. The moment Primrose frowned, his lips quickly moved away, then he licked them seductively.
"This is the best way for you to express your thanks to me, remember."
Joel's shamelessness really opened Primrose's eyes wide, she rolled her eyes at him and angrily took her bag and left.
"Don't pick me up tonight, I won't be grateful."
Before her anger, Joel only felt a soft heart, like looking at a fluffy little cat, with tolerance in his eyes.
"I know, I'll come to pick you up on time. Happy work, sweetie."
Primrose was so angry that her chest was heaving. This man, as expected, was born to be her nemesis.
Primrose took advantage of the day's work in the morning, then in the afternoon, she asked Nancy to leave work early to go to the hairdresser's shop. The last time was intentional, so she had to reluctantly meet her "future parents-in-laws" in that strange appearance. Now that they have become real parents-in-law, Primrose, of course, no longer has the guts to anger them.
"Primrose, are you changing because of emotional love?"
Nancy started teasing when Primrose boldly told the staff in the hair salon that she wanted to dye her light brown again. You must know that Primrose's personality is of the extremely stubborn type. If Joel forced her to do this, on the contrary, it would make Primrose even more reluctant to leave this silver hair color forever.
"Don't say things that give people goosebumps like that, have you chosen your hairstyle yet?"
Primrose didn't like to change the topic. She just wanted to live in harmony with Joel's family in the future, not because he "touched" something but because she became gentler.
"Choose done. I will be the most popular model this year, making every guy fall in love with me from the first meeting."
Nancy looked at herself in the mirror and thought to herself. Her aesthetic has always been very good, and she believes that the hairstyle she chooses can make her win the hearts of boys quickly.
