Chapter 6: Chapter 6

Things always happen in a way that no one expected.

On the day of the wedding, Primrose's parents wanted her to be the most gorgeous bride at the party, so they woke her up early to prepare everything. So poor Primrose had to wake up early in the morning, yawn, and be helped by the makeup artist to put on her wedding dress.

As she looked at the white dress covered with glittering stones, Primrose suddenly felt a little dazzled. Although she is not knowledgeable about gems, nor does she know what the names of the stones attached to the wedding dress are, she dares to assert that their value is definitely not small. Her dress was still fluttering in the wind, and for a moment, Primrose thought she would look a lot like a princess straight out of a fairy tale.

In the confusion, Primrose also did not know when she arrived at the venue. This is a luxury five-star hotel located in the heart of the city, both luxurious and expensive. When her parents mentioned the location, Primrose also opened her mouth, taking a deep breath to calm down. Just thinking of the huge amount of money it would cost to rent a hotel to hold the wedding, she had to take a breath of cold air. Indeed, a billionaire family, Joel's way of spending money always surprises her.

The ceremony took place relatively smoothly, all carried out according to normal rituals. Primrose was led up by his father and put his hand in Joel's, and together they read the oath to be together forever. After that, it was not until he announced that the two could kiss that Primrose's reason slowly returned.

"Sweetie, what are you thinking about? Close your eyes."

Joel raised an eyebrow, his cherry blossom eyes resting on her with a smile that was somewhat indulgent. In front of the watching crowd below, Joel casually approached Primrose, touched her chin lightly, and pulled her into a deep kiss.

Joel kissed her very gently, slowly, as if letting Primrose slowly accept him, his arm constantly patting her shoulder as if patting her. Primrose, under his guidance, also began to get caught up in the tenderness, returning his kiss, prompting Joel to hug her directly.

After finishing the kiss, Primrose's lips were slightly swollen and red with water. Joel proudly took her hand and squeezed it, slowly leading her down. The ceremony is over, the sweet kiss has also taken place, and now he is extremely satisfied.

The two of them went to change into a less sophisticated outfit and then sipped on a glass of wine together to greet all the guests present at the hotel today. Joel very naturally put his hand behind Primrose's back intimately, on his lips always had a gentle and gentle smile, Primrose was a bit shy but had no choice but to follow him.

They reached Primrose's parents' table, and Joel's parents sat first, the atmosphere warming again. Joel's mother, Jane, loves to hold Primrose's hand and does not let go, constantly complimenting her on her good state, and her appearance is also very beautiful.

"Primrose, in the future, if Joel dares to bully you even a little, you must not be patient but tell me. I will definitely help you punish him."

Primrose nodded excitedly, knowing she was now considered protected by her mother-in-law. If Joel dares to play a trick, she will definitely not forgive him.

"Primrose, your belongings have all been moved to Joel's house. In the future, you have to be obedient, don't be stubborn like you were at home."

Primrose's mother, Mrs. July, also spoke up. Primrose repeatedly said yes, and then went with Joel to greet and talk to the guests at other tables.

Today's guests were all friends or relatives of Primrose and Joel, so everyone talked happily. All of Joel's acquaintances seem to be very sympathetic to Primrose, except for a strange girl named Wavy. She always tries to embarrass Primrose.

"Primrose, it would be very successful if you could marry Joel. There were a lot of women trying to flirt with Joel before. What tricks did you use to make him fall in love?"

Wavy said while covering her mouth with a mocking smile, causing Primrose to furrow her brows in displeasure. In her memory, it was clear that she did not know Wavy nor had any enmity with her. Why then did Wavy silently scold her like that?

Primrose looked over at Joel, seeing that he was also frowning. Wanting to say something, she spoke first.

"Really? It's not an unusual way to just be more beautiful and charming than other women. I never comment on things that don't concern me."

Primrose's sharp words were obviously directed at Wavy, silently reminding her to stop looking into Primrose's business. Wavy rolled his eyes with an unpredictable smile but said nothing more, Primrose straightened his back and followed Joel to the next tables.

After greeting all the guests, the simple wedding ceremony is considered complete. Primrose separated from Joel to go into the makeup room to put on some lipstick, unexpectedly meeting someone he shouldn't have met.

"Primrose, I didn't expect you to be so quick-witted. Well, the feeling of becoming a substitute, but is it really fun to marry into a billionaire family?"

Wavy didn't know when he followed Primrose into the dressing room, leaning against the wall sarcastically. Primrose grimaced, quickly grasping the point of Wavy's words.

"Substitute? What do you mean?"

Wavy covered his mouth and laughed, really knowing how to pretend to be innocent.

"Joel didn't tell you? That's pitiful. You're just a stand-in for my best friend Auntie while she's abroad. You're only a substitute."

Wavy's words were difficult to hear, and Primrose's gaze was also filled with unconcealable disdain. Primrose put on her lipstick and pursed her lips slightly. Of course, she wouldn't allow her further insults.

"Who is that Auntie you speak of? Joel never mentioned it, and I think it's someone who doesn't matter at all in his life."

Wavy didn't waver at Primrose's words, puffing out his chest and raising his head in protest.

"Don't be so overconfident. Auntie is Joel's ex-girlfriend and his deep first love. When she broke up with Joel, he cried and fell to his knees begging Auntie not to leave him."

The latter part is, of course, Wavy's concocted to promote Auntie, but she still very calmly faced Primrose's eyes, pretending to be undeterred. Primrose did not care much about Joel's private affairs, but the trouble that appeared in front of her, she, of course, had to solve it thoroughly.

"Just an ex-girlfriend. Do you think Joel will miss her friend Auntie for the rest of his life? You really know how to joke."

Primrose stepped closer to Wavy, carrying an oppressive aura that made Wavy involuntarily lean against the wall, then continued.

"I am a beautiful, talented woman, with a career of my own, a rich family background. I'm the one who deserves to be with Joel, not that Auntie friend of yours. Sober up, don't talk nonsense in front of me."

When Primrose finished speaking comfortably, there was loud applause outside. She lifted her head, barely making eye contact with Joel, who was resting his head comfortably by the wooden door.

Joel clapped his hands as he stepped closer to Primrose, his arm resting behind her back as if to protect her, and then spoke.

"Very well said, Primrose. What a wife of mine, smart and well-spoken."

Primrose glared at him, and Joel smiled without hesitation. When he turned his gaze to Wavy, his gaze suddenly became sharp.

"Wavy, today is Primrose and I's a wedding day, so I don't expect any bad luck. I also don't want you to mention my ex-girlfriend to upset Primrose."

Joel tightened his grip on Primrose and continued.

"Besides, Auntie and I are long gone. Primrose was never a substitute for anyone. If you're still trying to hurt Primrose, then today's party won't welcome you."

After Joel finished speaking, he did not wait for Wavy's reaction to take Primrose by the hand and leave. Primrose stole a glance at him, wanting to ask about Auntie, but after thinking about it, he decided not to speak.

Anyway, since the two's agreement was not to meddle in each other's private affairs, it seemed that Primrose was not in the position to question him.

"What happened today is my fault. Wavy is a close friend of mine, so I invited her to the wedding, not expecting her to say such things."

Not waiting for Primrose to mention it, Joel took the initiative to speak up. Anyway, today's accident was due to his carelessness, so Wavy showed up and said such damaging things.

"It's okay, I don't mind. You and I aren't that type of relationship anyway, you know."

Primrose's heart felt warm but still replied forcefully, trying to show she didn't notice. Joel just lightly flicked her forehead, whispering.

"Sweetie, but I really hope you'll notice."

Primrose blushed, pushed Joel's shoulder, and stepped forward. This man, obviously, couldn't stay serious for long.
