Chapter 50: Chapter 50
As for Primrose, after the not-so-pleasant phone call, she quickly regained her spirits to continue enjoying the long day of leisure. She and Nancy had lunch at a nearby five-star restaurant and then went shopping at a newly opened shopping center nearby.
Shopping was always a favorite pastime for women, at least for Primrose and Nancy, who enjoyed doing it whenever they had free time. Moreover, each country had different fashion styles, and luxury brands offered a diverse range of clothing and jewelry options to choose from. Therefore, visiting shopping centers was a must for both Nancy and Primrose whenever they visited a different country or city.
When they returned to the hotel with their shopping bags, they were in a cheerful and excited mood. Primrose plopped down on the large bed as soon as they got back, while Nancy happily snapped a selfie and sent a voice chat to her boyfriend.
"Darling, I just went shopping with Primrose. Have you had lunch yet?"
"Remember to eat on time and don't skip meals because you're too busy. Your health is important, too, not just the patient's health," Nancy said in a softer and sweeter voice when talking to her boyfriend, carrying a hint of tenderness that even Primrose didn't notice.
Primrose, lying next to her, teased right after Nancy put her phone down, "Yo, you sound so sweet, yet you haven't even considered getting married yet? I don't believe you anymore."
Nancy blushed and bowed her head, clearly unable to retort to this teasing remark. Indeed, if she and Brave were together for a few more years, with their relationship becoming more stable, marriage wouldn't be an impossible thought.
"Tell me, you used to say you wouldn't get married before 30. But have you been thinking about it with Brave now?" Primrose asked, looking straight into Nancy's eyes and winking playfully.
Nancy sighed and looked around before nodding gently. "Well, before, I found marriage cumbersome and restrictive. But now, I feel that if Brave becomes my husband in the future, it would be a very joyful thing."
In front of Primrose, Nancy would never hide anything, and the same was true for Primrose. They discussed more about Nancy's feelings for Brave, and then Primrose made a serious conclusion.
"I think Brave is a good man and worthy of being your husband. Besides, you two have such a passionate love for each other, so when you get married, you'll be more intimate and cherish each other even more."
After saying this, Primrose couldn't help but think about her own marriage with Joel, sighing deeply. They started as strangers and would probably end up becoming distant.
The conversation about romantic relationships stopped there. Nancy sighed and pulled Primrose down to lie beside her, helping her cover herself with a blanket.
"Alright, no more talking about love. A day of shopping is exhausting, and I want to catch up on some sleep. You should rest too."
It was already evening, and both of them were free but tired. Going straight to dinner after a nap would be the most suitable plan. Primrose adjusted her breathing and closed her eyes, trying to forget the unpleasant memories.
After waking up, they had dinner at the same five-star restaurant they had lunch at and then returned to the hotel to enjoy some drinks while admiring the night view from the spacious balcony. The night sky was beautiful, and the cityscape was lively and bustling. They sipped their drinks and lazily leaned back on the chairs.
The first day passed peacefully and beautifully. On their second day in the country, Y, Primrose, and Nancy decided to go to the beach one pleasant afternoon.
They had already bought some very attractive bikinis, and country Y was famous for its long, pristine beaches with white sandy stretches. Both Primrose and Nancy were eager to experience it. Moreover, the feeling of immersing myself in the water was very refreshing.
In the afternoon, after changing into their seductive black bikinis, Primrose cheerfully put on a luxury-brand pair of sunglasses and appeared contently behind Nancy. Nancy had also chosen a black bikini like Primrose's and was sitting in front of the dressing table, fixing her hair.
"How about that? Look at the blonde guy in black swimming trunks, Primrose. He's right up your alley. Want me to help you get his contact information?"
Since Primrose's relationship with Joel hit a snag, Nancy had been concerned that Primrose might be depressed, so she was actively trying to help Primrose find a new boyfriend. She said that cutting off the old person would pave the way for the new one, and the new boyfriend would be more handsome, younger, and especially much more obedient. Nancy even tried to comfort Primrose by saying that it wasn't because Primrose wasn't good enough, but rather because Joel's eyes were blind and couldn't see Primrose's good points, being blinded by a foolish woman like Auntie.
Though Nancy's words sounded somewhat exaggerated, Primrose was amused to hear them. She was trying to be a bit dismissive while looking at Nancy, then took out a fresh set of clothes from her bag.
"Enough with the nonsense. Get your clothes, and let's head to the bathroom. We're both soaking wet, and it's easy to catch a cold."
Nancy snorted and playfully retorted, "And what about you? Do you want to take a walk on the beach to show off your beauty after changing?"
Primrose had long grown accustomed to this non-serious tone, so she just rolled her eyes at Nancy and fetched a fresh set of clothes to head toward the beach bathroom together.
Even after they changed out of their wet clothes, Nancy didn't forget the previous topic. While walking, she joked and said that Andrew seemed very nice and quite suitable for Primrose to start a new relationship. Primrose had no choice but to pretend to be deaf and just continue walking straight.
At this point, Primrose received a phone call on her mobile phone, and she conveniently answered it. After a conversation on the phone, she explained to Nancy, "It's Andrew calling. He said he just got off the plane and wants to come and meet us. I told him we just finished swimming and wanted to change before going for a beach walk. He seems very interested and said he will come here right away."
Hearing this, Nancy chuckled and said, "Is he interested in going for a beach walk or meeting you?"
Primrose had already gotten used to Nancy's playful tone, so she just gave her a stern look and took out a set of clean clothes from her bag.
"Stop babbling. Get your clothes, and let's go to the bathroom. We're both drenched, and it's easy to catch a cold like this."
Nancy let out an "Oh" and playfully replied, "Then let's go. I want to take a beach walk after my swim."
Both of them chuckled and immersed themselves in the refreshing water, enjoying the coolness until they felt thoroughly refreshed before finally stopping. Indeed, it had been a long time since they last swam in the sea, and all that Primrose could think about was how incredibly invigorating it felt.
After their beach swim, they returned to their beach loungers, wrapping towels around themselves to keep warm. At this moment, Primrose's phone rang again, and she answered it.
Not knowing what the person on the other end said, after a while she finished the conversation and explained it to Nancy.
"It's Andrew. He just arrived and wants to meet us. I told him we just finished swimming and needed to change before going for a walk. He seemed quite excited and said he'd come here right away."
Nancy smirked and asked teasingly, "Is he excited about going for a beach walk or meeting you?"
Primrose, already used to Nancy's joking manner, just gave her a playful glare and pulled out a clean set of clothes from her bag.
"Enough with the nonsense. Get dressed, and let's head to the restroom. We're both soaked, and it's easy to catch a cold like this."
Nancy made a sound of acknowledgment and playfully replied, "Then let's go. I want to take a beach walk after my swim."
Both of them laughed and headed towards the beach restroom, with Nancy continuing to joke about Andrew. Primrose could do nothing but pretend to be deaf and ignore her, focusing on getting dried up and dressed.
