Chapter 21: Chapter 21

: kill me

→Narrator: Kam

"Lolade Celeste Toluwani Coker!" Dave yelled from downstairs. "Get your fine ass downstairs, we're leaving you behind!"

"Go to hell, Davian Onyekachi Orji! This fine ass is taking her sweet time!" Lola's voice came moments later, and then, she appeared, stomping down the stairs, looking like a Nigerian Ariana Grande.

Her outfit was a short black sweater dress, the left sleeve, hanging off her shoulder, fashionably. Her hair was in a tight ponytail that made her babyface look sharper, pointier. She wore grey leather boots that reached her knees and soft make up that glossed up her dark complexion. Her long weave flipped behind her waist as she walked down the stairs, clutching a black purse.

"Besides, I have Osahon to keep me company. Who needs your scrawny ass?"

"I'm not scrawny."

"Always in denial, Dave." She laughed. "Always."

"How 'bout the others?" Jemi asked, concerned, looking like a father, worried sick over his daughters.

"Oh, they'll be down in a sec. Kosi had to strap Asa to a chair to do her make-up."

"What?" I turned to her.

"Kiddin', kiddin'!" She smirked, leaving my side to walk into Osahon's open arms who held her and kissed her cheek softly.

I looked up just as Kosi walked out of the hallway with Asa.

And I swear, I died and went to heaven, because I was looking at the most angelic creature I've ever seen.

Asa had this beauty about her, that cut through ice and hurt the eyes. And right now, looking at her was just... Damn!

Holy Shit!

Her faux locs, pulled half up in a ponytail and half down, so it swayed down her ass, exposing more of her sharp, striking beauty. Her beautiful oval face, looked like it had been polished to perfection, so that her already glowing brown skin, glowed even more. And her dress...

Sweet Jesus! That dress... Was sin itself.

The gold dress looked like it had been tattooed unto her skin, leaving little to the imagination. And when she turned to tell Kosi something, I saw that it was entirely backless. It had halter straps, tied losely around her neck, giving me a nice peek of the side of her boobs. The dress continued, inches above her round ass and stopping just below it, hugging all of her to perfection, and it was taking everything in me, not to walk over to her and suggest we ditch this party... Again.

Her bronze legs, already long and slim, stretched even longer in her strappy heels. She had done something to her eyes that made her more alluring, her lips were painted a dark red colour.

Tonight, she was sin, incarnated. Dark desires personified... Who was I to resist her?

"Hey." She walked into my open arms as I pulled her to me, immediately capturing her lips in mine.

I tasted wine on them.

"Are you trying to kill me, Asa?" I whispered lowly into her ears.

"What do you mean?" She sounded genuinely confused. Leaning away from me to look into my eyes.

"Just don't leave my side tonight, Asa."

She still looked confused, but she nodded in agreement.

This girl underestimated her own beauty.

She pulled me to her and I sighed, stroking her hair as she hugged me.

"I love you, Kam." She whispered.

She had been saying that all evening and I felt a strange foreboding. As if she wanted to remind me... As if she was trying to remind the both of us.

Taking her chin and urging her to look up at me, I caressed her cheek. "And I love you too, Asa. Forever and ever."

It was our own promise, and I have no idea how it started, but forever and ever was our thing...

And we always sealed it with an eternal promise.

"Amen."

"Sorry, Kam, but I'm about to steal your babe again. She rides with us." Kosi stepped in front of me as we walked to Jordan's truck.

"Dammit!" I cussed. "When will this end, Kosi."

"When I freaking say so." she blew me a playful kiss, wrapping her hand around Asa.

In true Kosi fashion, she was wearing a tiny halter top with a plunging neckline that made it look suspiciously like a bikini top, giving everyone a glimpse of a tattoo etched between her breasts. Her army grey leather skirt was shorter than was deemed socially acceptable, the beginning of a garter, peeking out. A durac scarf held her hair out of her face, tied bandana style, fashionable tiny dark shades, perched on the bridge of her nose. Her boots were white and glittered a bit and she hung an army grey jacket over her shoulders.

"Lola and I, we were thinking of sitting out the window, you know, like video vixens do in music videos. Asa here has to drive us." She flashed me a dazzling smile and pulled unto Asa, who sighed, kissed my cheek and strutted away with her.

I was left staring at her amazing figure in that beautiful dress.

The night was cool, beautiful... Even more beautiful here in Offshore. I wanted to be on the roof, looking at the stars, with the best person in the world to me, in my arms.

I watched as she leaned against the Kosi's lambo, her back to me, laughing with Kosi and Lola and I just couldn't look away.

That ass...

"Kam?"

"Hmm?" I answered, distractedly.

"You know, I feel like you're not listening if you don't look at me."

I groaned, ripping my eyes off of Asa's very very seductive ass and turned to look at Amir, the owner of the voice.

"What?"

"She's not coming with us?" Amir asked, as he looked at Asa who was sliding into the driver seat of the lambo.

Amir had this look in his eyes that sort of pierced through you. I admit, I didn't like him much when I first arrived here, because he seemed rude and stuck up to me.

We really bonded once, when I had invited him over to tutor me and shared bottles of beer when he was done. We had drifted off to talk about personal stuff, bantered back and forth over our personal views on different topics and he had opened up to me about how he felt about his father's estrangement, growing up in a palace with so much hate and negativity, his mother's death, his sister, abandoning him after her death... And I just started to get him.

He wasn't stuck up and stoic, because he thought it was cool, he just didn't want anyone taking root in his heart again. He had seemed rude, almost defensive towards me, because he had trust issues. His first instinct towards a potential friend was to be rude, hateful even, and push back, see how much they'd last before falling off the edge...

But some times, rare times, he allowed certain people into his inner circle, in a way, it was a privilege. A silent declaration of his trust. I felt happy, warm even, when he started letting me hang out with him. He'd seek me out, during football practice or want to hang, specifically with me, because I get him. And in no time, we became the closest things to best friends to each other.

"She's not." I answered him. "Riding with the girls. I thought you two were cool, now."

He shrugged, avoiding my gaze. After a few minutes, he ran a frustrated hand through his hair. "Kam, we need to talk... I... I need to tell you something."

I looked at him as we continued walking towards Jordan's truck. "Yeah? What?"

"I..." He looked away, actually seeming conflicted. "I... Your-"

"Yo! DeAngeles! Catch!" That's all the heads up I got as I instinctively caught the bunch of keys, Jordan threw at me.

"Bastard!" I called back, when I saw him laughing with Jemi.

"You're our designated driver tonight."

"Duh?" I rolled my eyes, knowing that Jordan was planning to get pissed tonight.

As the others piled into the huge truck, I patted Amir's shoulder. "We'll talk later, yeah?"

He looked just as conflicted and frustrated as before. "Yeah."
