loveth walk inside the room she was directed to come to, she saw no one else in the room and wonder if she has not entered the wrong room. she sat down and think to wait for some minutes to see if someone will join her in the room and if no one comes then she will leave. After five minutes, the door open and a lady entered.

"you are the one who contacted me?" she asked to be sure. the lady sat down majestically and crossed her legs.

"am Joyce" Joyce said. loveth look at her closely to check if she knows her.

"you don’t have to stress yourself, you don’t know me but i know you very well. and like my man told you on the phone you have the things i required with you right?"

"yes but first i need to know who you are" she replied.

"knowing who i am will do you no good. just bring out what i ask of you" loveth opened her bag and place a phone on the table.

"it has all videos, pictures and every recording you need on them but how are you going to bring Simon to the place?"

"that's not for you to worry about. the money will be sent to your account in thirty minutes from now. you can leave" she said and loveth stood up to leave.

"but remember if what you gave me is false then you know what will happen to you and your brother right?" she said and wave her away. loveth quickly left leaving just Joyce in the room. she pick up the phone on the table and opened it. there is a lot of Sonya's pictures with Simon in an ambiguous pose and also the recording of Sonya and Simon on her birthday. she drop the phone in her purse and walk out.

she drove straight home and entered the house. the maid greeted her and told her Micheal is home.

"Micheal? its just afternoon, how come he is at home" she said talking to no one in particular. she remove her shoes and put on slipper then she head inside and met Micheal sitting in the living room.

"why are you home by this time? did your boss release you today?" she said jeeringly.

"why are you referring to him like that? have you forgotten how you do call him?" he replied back.

"why does that matter? we are not engaged anymore" she answered.

"really? is that coming from someone who created an uproar days back. you even went as far as going to meet his dad and getting his permission to announce your engagement"

"sometimes i wonder if you are my brother or his"

"answer my question" he snapped at her.

"what question?"

"why on earth did you release news about your engagement with the Hart, you know he has a girlfriend" he yelled and Joyce was a little intimidated by him.

"because i want to claim back my position. you don’t think they are really going to end up together do you am his fiancee from the start and she is just a passerby"

"i know for sure that you don’t love him so why are you stressing yourself about him" he said calmly. Joyce frown and sat down a little far from him.

"who told you i don’t"

"i know because am your brother. i know you better than you know yourself" he replied.

"really? are you sure you are my brother? when he broke our engagement years back for a stupid reason you supported him. you didn't even care about your own twin sister. all you ever care about is Maxwell this Maxwell that. you even left your family for him" she yelled loudly which attract their mother.

"what is going on here? Micheal, when did you get back?" she asked and walk towards them.

"i will go to my room now" Joyce said and left upstairs.

"Micheal, what do you do to your sister again?"

"why do you always find fault with me?"

"because you are always like that to her and why are you here?" she asked.

"this is my father's house okay, i can come whenever i want" he said angrily and also left.

"what on earth was that?" his mother said and went back to her room also.

Micheal walk to Joyce's room and knock on the door.

"Joyce, open up lets talk" he said and continue to knock without getting any response from her.

"am sorry okay, lets talk" he said again and continue knocking.

"if you don’t open right now i will get the spare key and open it myself" he threatened before she finally open the door. Micheal entered and sat on the chair in the room

"if you are going to continue nagging me about him then forget it" she said and sat on her bed.

"where are you coming from?" he asked.

"when do you start getting yourself concerned with my business?do you want to start acting like a good brother now?' she replied sarcastically

"i know where you are coming from and i will advise you to split it out to me. Maxwell also knows but i asked him to let me meet you instead. so its in your best interest to tell me now before its too late"

"i don’t understand a thing of what you are saying"

"then i will make you understand. you just met with a girl called loveth, Sonya and Evelyn's roommate"

"how did you know that?" she asked surprised.

"that's not what's important right now. what did you meet her for?' he asked.

"that's none of your business and you and him should stop prying on me, its wont stop anything" she replied adamantly.

"am sure you know what Max is capable of, its in your best interest to tell me"

"get out of my room and go meet your stupid Max" she yelled and throw a pillow at him. Micheal dogged it and move closer to her. he sat beside her on the bed and held her shoulder to prevent her from doing anything.

"what are you doing? leave me and get out" she said again annoyed.

"you know i love you right? you are my sister and no matter what i will always support you"

"liar, you've never supported me anything"

"that's because you do things that are unreasonable"

"are you saying am not reasonable?" Michael trying to stop himself from getting angry

"i don’t mean it like that"

"then how do you mean" she screamed.

"okay, am sorry. calm down and lets talk like adults"

"do you mean am talking like a child" she said not satisfied with his apology.

"why do you like twisting my words. i just want us to talk seriously with each other" he replied and wait for her to calm down before talking again.

"seriously hurting Sonya or offending Maxwell wont do you or our family any good and you know that" he persuaded.

"fine, i will listen to you on one condition"

"whatever condition it is i will accept"

"you don’t even know what it is but you already accept for him"

"its for you and not for him"

"why didn't you do anything for me when he broke off our engagement""you are only like this because you felt that your pride is hurt for him to have break up with you for a girl that did not exist you are not hurt at all" Joyce kept quiet. she knows he really gets her but did not want to admit it.

"i wanted to break him and Sonya off and also use that to pretend that am hurt because he cheated on me with her and break off our engagement again just like he did years back" she confessed after a while.

"this is what i collected from loveth. it has a lot of picture and videos of her and her so called cousin" she added and gave the phone to him.

"are you also working with Simon?" he asked

"not exactly but partially. so if i quit, how are you going to deal with Simon?"

"you don’t have to worry about that, just don’t contact him again" he replied.

"thank you" Micheal said and hugged her.

"don’t thank me yet, you said you will agree with my conditions"

"i thought it was one condition"

"it more than one. first, leave Hart group of company and come take over from dad"

"i know you were going to say that but i was going to anyways the probation for Maxwell ends after this ceremony" he replied.

"what am saying is you terminate your employment with him right now, today"

"why cant i stay till after the ceremony. it just a few days away from now and besides i cant just leave like that, its doesn't..."

"you promised" she said flaring up

"okay fine, i will do that"

"also, tell him to apologize to me"

"you know he would never apologize"

"then i will just do what i have to do. or do you think my pride doesn't deserve at least an apology"

"of course you deserve one. i will surely inform him" he replied giving up

"also... return to me the money i paid her friend. it was a huge amount of money"

"don’t worry, you will get it. so we are good?"

"i don’t know depend on your behaviour from now on. now get out of my room" she said and push him out then close the door on his face. Micheal sigh and called Maxwell.

"its settled but i also have to tell you somethings" he said and end the call.

Charles wonder why he will be summoned to the CEO's office as he made his way there. he walk up to Sonya's desk and tap the table to get her attention away from her computer.

"what are you doing here?" she asked surprised to see him.

"i receive a message to come meet the boss" he answered.

"really? why don’t i know about that. could it be because of Evelyn?"

"i don’t think so, he knows we were together and that we are back together again" he replied.

"then that's strange. if it something related to work there is no need to sent for you personally. or you did something wrong to Evelyn and he's going to punish you"

"you think too much" he said and left. he met Amy coming out from Maxwell's office and greeted her.

"you should go in, he's waiting for you" she told him and walk to her seat. Charles was nervous as he tap lightly on the door before walking in. he entered and with Maxwell in the room was Micheal and another guy who looks tough and intimidating.

"could it be according to Sonya's word? did Evelyn say anything to him about their little quarrel, is that why he called him here?" he thought as he neared them.

"Mr Hart, Mr Micheal" he greeted.

"have a seat" Micheal said and point to the seat opposite them. Charles sat down and lower his head.

"you can leave now, contact me when its done" Maxwell said and dismissed the other guy.

"am sure you must be wondering why i called you here" Maxwell begin and place a file in front of him.

"read it" Charles took it and read for sometime then he drop it back.

"i don’t quite understand. what does this have to do with me?' he asked confused.

"this is about your sister" Micheal answered and pause for a second before he continue.

"according to the report am sure you should understand a little about it. five years ago, your sister conspired with someone and tried to kill Mr Hart" he explained.

"i don’t think that's possible at all. five years is a long time and besides, my sister doesn't even know who you are not to talk of getting closer to you to poison you, why would she even want to do that?' he said not believing at all.

"Amy would never hurt anyone" he thought.

"whether you believe it or not is not my business. am telling you this because of Evelyn, i don’t want to hurt you or your family but your sister is planning something against next tomorrow's celebration. its in your best interest to stop her or you would have yourself to blame. take the file with you" Maxwell said. Charles took the file and left sluggishly.

"why did you tell him and give him the file?" Micheal asked after he left.

"to make him stop his sister" he simply replied.

"and you think that's going to work. it worked on Joyce because she is my sister and doesn't have an evil intention but Amy here is different" he complained.

"i just want him to convince her not stop her. if there is one person Amy is afraid of then its her brother just like you" he replied.

"who told you am sacred of my sister, am not at all"

"of course i believe you" he said and laugh at him.

"so are you really going to apologize to Joyce?even if you don’t want to but for my sake just say one sorry you don’t have to be sincere about it"

"i will apologize. i really shouldn't have break it off with her that way" he said.

"unbelievable, you've changed" he said amazed.
