Chapter 59: Chapter 59

Maxwell bought her to her apartment and helped her inside. he carried to the chair and get her some water.

"are you still busy?" she asked after drinking the water.

"hmm" he nodded. "

"then when will you finish?" she asked again.

"i will send someone to pick you up for the party next week. you also don’t have to come to work tomorrow, just rest at home" he said and kissed her cheek before leaving.

after he left, Evelyn and loveth entered the house.

"Sonya, i thought you left with Maxwell. why did he drop you here?" Evelyn asked.

"he's busy" she answered. then they heard loveth smash a plate in kitchen. the both of them sprang to their feet and rush to her.

"are you okay? what happened?" they asked. loveth look at the two of them angrily. Sonya move more closer to her and saw that it was one of her plate she broke.

"how did this happen?"

"am sorry, it slipped" she answered nonchalantly and walk pass them to her room. Evelyn and Sonya were both shocked by her attitude.

"do you have any idea about what happened to her? she has been acting weird with me since" Sonya asked and bend down to pack the broken plate.

"i think it might be about what she heard between you and Simon earlier" she answered and joined her.

"what do you mean? heard what?" she stopped and asked

"when you went to meet with Simon, we followed you. but its not to spy on you, i swear. we wanted to know where you are so we can take you there on time, so we accidentally overheard your discussion" she answered

"oh gees! no wonder. what exactly did she say after?"

"she didn't say anything but i could tell she was angry. you better find a way to explain it to her tomorrow and pacify her" she answered ans they finished packing the plate and dispose them.

....Sonya and Evelyn woke up early and prepared loveth's favourite food for breakfast to cajole her. Sonya also took one of the bags Maxwell bought for her. she hasn't used it yet and loveth really likes it. they both wait for her to wake. Evelyn came out of her room and was surprise to see the both of them at the entrance.

"what are you guys doing?" she asked.

"we are here to wish you a good morning" Sonya said and they pull her along with them to the dinning they pull out the chair for her and sat her down, then they start to serve the food for her.

"what exactly are you trying to do?" she asked confused and pissed off.

"we are trying to make you happy, you know school has been a lot stressful this days, eat" loveth look at the both of them strangely and obviously not impressed at all but still pick the spoon and start to eat. they both sat down and watch her

"you are not going to eat?" she asked after taking a bite

"we ate already, also this is for you" Sonya said and place the purse on the table for her. loveth took it and examine it

"why are you giving me this?you said you will never let me have it before"

"that was before, you like it and as a friend i should share" Sonya replied. loveth threw away the purse. before they could react she poured the food on the table.

"did the both of you think am a fool? you think you can bribe me with this" she said pointing to the bag and food.

"yah! loveth have you gone crazy? what do you think you are doing?' Evelyn yelled at her.

"do you think you are the only one who can shout?" she yelled back. Sonya motion for Evelyn to calm down.

"loveth, if there is something that is bothering you then you can share with us" she said to calm her down

"you are what is bothering me. my problem, the both of you are my problem. you are trying to act like the good guy right" she said more angrily.

"if this is about Simon, then you need to calm down and listen to her explanation" Evelyn chipped in.

"yes, it about him but am not going to listen to any stupid explanation. the both of you know that he likes you but you allow me to fool around and give me false hope"

"is not like that..." Sonya tried to explain but she cut her off.

"the both of you always treat me like this. you both have everything you want. you've never sincerely treated me like your friend" she yelled again.

"you are thinking too much. is just a guy there are many more guy out there for you” Evelyn said

"really? just one guy? its not just one guy. first it was your brother, but you told me not to even dream of it. that's out of my legend because you felt am too low to him. i decide to let go of my feelings for him. then Charles i met him first but you snatched him from me and pretended nothing happened now Simon" "when Sonya came you didn't say anything about her relationship with your brother and you even help them to get together. tell me how am i thinking too much" she said and continued

both Evelyn and Sonya were dumbfounded. Evelyn was even more flabbergasted. She told her that about Maxwell because then, Maxwell was ranting about him liking a girl already and she did not want her to just waste her time and also, she didn't tell her anything about liking Charles at all. not even a hint"

"Then why didn't you say these things before? why do you keep them all to yourself?" Sonya asked.

"there is no need to ask that. since you think of us that way then there is no need for us to continue being friends anymore" Evelyn said annoyed and walk away.

"good one, i will leave. its not my house anyways" she replied angrily and return to her room slamming the door after her.Sonya sit still and watch the both of them leave without knowing what to say. she walk towards Evelyn's room and knock on it.

"Evelyn, Evelyn come out" she knocked

"am busy" she answered.

"open the door first" Sonya waited for another few seconds before she open the door.

"if the both of you are angry then what? am sure she probably did not mean all those words. she was just angry and am sure she will cool off after sometime"

"i don’t think its like that at all and also why is she playing the victim card. she obviously knew Simon did not like her at all but she still keep forcing it. she even as far as to block his number on your phone, she is the one who is strange" Evelyn said before she realize that she already said something wrong.

"whose number? Simon?"

"i didn't say anything like that" she denied. they were interrupted by the noise outside.

"i think she's out of her room" Sonya said. they leave the room to go meet her and were surprised to see her with her luggage.

"what are you doing with that?" Evelyn asked

"what does it look like am doing?" she replied

"are you seriously leaving? this is stupid"

"why? you want me to continue living here so I can continue to be fooled by the both of you?" she said and continue to walk towards the door, then Sonya held her hand back.

"do you really block Simon's number on my phone?' she asked but loveth shove her hand away and left.

"she has seriously lost it"

"don’t worry, am sure when she think it through she will come back" Sonya said and return to her room.

Drake arrive at the airport and wait to clear his baggage. he picked his bag and look around for any sign of Maxwell. he notice someone with a board with his name on it. he walk over to the person and discover its a girl.

"i guess Maxwell sent you" he said to Amy

"and you must be Kelvin, nice to meet you" Amy replied and took the bag from him.

"i will be in charge of you and taking care of your needs" she said again and motion for him to follow her. they got to the car and she opened the car for him and drove him to one of Maxwell's house.

"is there anything else you will like me to do for you? she asked after helping him to settle down in the house.

"where is Maxwell?" he asked sitting down.

"Mr Hart is very busy at the moment. he ask me to tell you that he will come over once he's done" she answered

"what about Micheal? is he also busy?"

"yes, they will both be here soon" she answered

"so if there is nothing else i will beg to take my leave.

"why don’t you stay here with me till they get here, you are here to attend to my needs isn't it?" he said and walk towards her. Amy move backward swiftly.

"since there is nothing else, i will go now" she said and quickly open the door to leave.

"wait, lets go together. am bored. instead of waiting without nothing to do i will just go meet them myself" he said and turn back to the room to get dressed.

Amy close the door and quickly dial Micheal's number.

"how is it?" Micheal asked.

"he wants to come over" she answered.

"then bring him over" he said and cut the call. Kelvin appeared minute later dressed up and together with Amy, they left to meet Maxwell.

they arrive at the company and entered maxwell's office. the both of them were busy with some files when they entered. Immediately Maxwell saw him, he stood up and walk up to him and hugged him. Micheal also followed the same action.

"long time no see" Kelvin said.

"yeah, it has really been a long time" Maxwell answered and they all sat down. Amy excuse herself from the room and left them to talk.

"i thought you will be coming to the airport to pick me" he said.

"sorry, i had an emergency at the last minute. how have you been?"

"great and good. Micheal is still working with you. i thought you were going to take over your dad's company" he said to Micheal. he smiled and nod his head not saying anything.

"why do you seems distance with me?" he asked. Micheal stood up from beside Maxwell and sat next to him.

"you are thinking too much. how about we go out and have some fun later tonight. we can go to our favourite place later" he said and put his hand around his neck.

"sure, i will love to. it been so long since i last visited the place" he said excitedly. Sonya entered with a tray of coffee with her.

"please have some" she said and bow her head then turn to leave.

"wait" Maxwell said and stood up to meet her.

"Kelvin, this is Sonya. Sonya, drakes my friend that i told you about" he introduced. Kelvin stare at her intensely and then stood up to shake her hands. Sonya shook hands with him politely and leaves.

"who is she?' he asked after she left.

"my assistant's secretary' he answered.

'that's interesting. for how long has she been working here?" he asked again.

"for a long while now' he answered and changed the topic.

"why don't we go now, there is nothing more to do" he said and they exit the room together.
