"do you find out the relationship between Amy and Kelvin?" Maxwell asked to change the topic.

"not entirely sure but my guess is they are probably together. Amy loves posting online and on Instagram and based on her posts, they are likely to be in a relationship and Kelvin is most likely using her for his selfish interest" he answered.

"okay, i already have the evidence against Kelvin in my hands with the recording Sonya has, everything is ready and settled.

"how do you know to suspect that Kelvin is behind this?" he asked curiously.

"through the record on Sonya's phone. when i heard it for the first time i recognized his voice immediately and thinking back on the incident between my dad and his, i was sure he's really the one" he explained. Micheal watch made a sound to indicate the time for him.

"am late, i should go now or else Joyce would think i went back on my words. when you find a replacement for my job let me know. i want to teach whoever it is how to deal with you and stay alive while working with you" he said and get up to leave.

"why don’t you start teaching her from now?" he said.

"you find one already? and a girl? you never liked a girl as your assistant"

"yes but this one is different. you know her. Amy, she is getting promoted to your position"

"that's not possible. its not promotion, you are trying to give her a suicide mission" he protest

"are you saying being my assistant is a suicide mission?"

"yes it is. i cant even count the number of times i have to work overnight and take care of your personal need and worst of all you are too demanding, it wont do at all"

"have you told her you are leaving" Maxwell cuts in. Micheal keep quiet not knowing what to say.

"i guess you didn't tell her. please leave the office of a demanding boss quick. you wont want to get your sister angry would you" he said and push him till he was completely out of his office and slam the door. immediately Micheal get out he met with Amy by the door and bump in to her. Micheal was quick to react but some of the drink with her spill on her clothes.

"sorry, am so sorry" Micheal said and use his handkerchief to clean her shirt.

'are you alright?" he asked in a calm tone. Amy shake her head at him to indicate yes. he noticed some in her clothes and unbuttoned her first button as he made to unbuttoned the next one Amy stop him.

"am really alright i will clean it myself" she said and took the handkerchief from him.

"oh sorry, i didn’t mean that" he apologized when he understands what his action means.

"where you leaving to again? do you have to work outside the company again?" she asked and stopped cleaning. Micheal could not bring himself to tell her that he is leaving and look for another way to tell her indirectly.

"lets talk in my office" he said instead and they both walk to his office and sat down. he served her coffee and they both drink i silence.

"you have something to tell me right? what is it?" she asked when he refused to say anything.

"yes i should" he said and kept quiet again.

"you are acting weird, is it something very difficult? what is it about?" she asked again feeling awkward. Micheal cleared his throat.

"about what i told you at the trip, you haven't said anything on it" he begin and it was Amy's turn to keep quiet.

"why are not you saying anything? you don’t feel the same do you?"

"no not all" she said quickly.

"no what?" he asked to be sure.

"no, i mean is not that i don’t like you" she said.

"i have some difficulties to deal with. i want to solve them first before getting in to any relationship" she answered and pick up the cup of coffee on the table.

"wait!" Micheal held her hand to prevent her from withdrawing it back. he row up her sleeve and found some scars on her hand.

"what is this? how did you get this on you?" he asked with concern and care.

"its nothing. it must have been the drink earlier" she lied and try to withdraw her hand from his forcefully.

"stop struggling" he commanded and check her hand carefully.

"this does not look like a fresh wound and the drink earlier is not hot to make your hand look like this"

"i don’t want to tell you" she said and turn away from him. Micheal held her back and place his hand on her shoulders.

"talk to me. who did this to you" he asked looking deeply into her eyes. Amy stare back at him and he nod his head at her to encourage her to spill it out.

...Amy finished explaining and wait for his reaction.

"so your step father did this to you and you kept it all to yourself.

"i don’t want to create any problem for my mother" she said in her defense.

"so what do you plan to do now?" he asked.

"i was enduring all what he and his son has been doing because of my mother but he has gone too far now. it was recently when his son called me to the hospital that i get to know that he also beat my mom whatever i refuse to give him money. it was worst when i get to know and she needs to undergo surgery. am planning to get him arrested after that" she explained.

"i didn't know about all of this. am really sorry"

"you don’t have to be. its my family issue"

"but why don’t you tell me this so i can help"

Michael was furious but knowing Amy she won't like him to step but still he will have to teach that step father of hers a small lesson, how dare him lay his hands on his woman.

"my mum loves him and also if i bother you with this when we are not even together in a relationship yet, your mum will think of me as a gold digger" she said and smile.

"am really fine, am already planning to move my mum away from the state and also move far away from where they can both find me" Micheal wanted to say something but was interrupted by his phone. he check the caller and it was his father.

"dad, am on my way. i will soon join you" he said to the phone and cut it then he stood up.

"i really have to leave now. there is something important for me to do" he said and opening the door to leave. he stopped in his step and suddenly turned back. he walk up to Amy who was still sitting and pull her up then he kissed her. the kiss started roughly but then he became gentle and kissed her like his life depend on it. Amy was taken by surprise but she still return his kiss. he kissed her till they were both out of breath before releasing her. then he hugged her and dash out. Amy was still surprised and wonder why he behaviour like that but she loves it. She smile childishly to herself and went back to her office.****

Amy sat down on the room floor and rest her head on kelvin's lap.

"I've really missed you. you promised to return two years ago but you didn't until now and immediately you get back, you did not contact me instantly" she said using her head to caress him.

"am sorry babe" he said and start to play with her hair. "i wanted you to come with me but you refuse to because of your brother and also i was busy preparing for our future. Don’t worry, this time we will surely be together. after everything tomorrow all this will be over" he said and kissed her forehead.

"do we really have to kill the both of them? his father is the one who killed your father so why don’t we just deal with him only. we can just make sure Maxwell is in bed for a period of years and by the time him wakes up he wont be able to do anything" she said and raise her head from his lap.

"i don’t want that, if you were not careless the last time and did not notice that Sonya entered with him then we wont have to go through all this stress all over again. they should both suffer, he has been enjoying what belongs to me for five years now he should also regret it and then i can help him take care of his sister and mother very well" he said with hatred written likely on his face.

"are you sure this is not risky? five years ago he was still a rookie so we were able to pull it off without anyone suspecting but now he has gained a lot of power. i don’t think we should underestimate him" she said not convinced.

"don’t worry, one thing that is for sure is that he will never suspect me" he said with confidence.

"so is your brother end settled? he will be a better choice since we wont want to raise any suspicion from me"

"yes, i have it all set and i believe you but i think that just in case, we should have a back up plan" kelvin held her face and kissed her.

"you don’t have to worry about anything, nothing will go wrong just trust me" he said and deepen the kiss. Amy held unto him tightly and kissed him back. they both rolled to the floor still kissing and remove each others clothes in a fit.

"the backup plan is to use you as an escape" he thought as he bite gently on her earlobe.

....Amy got home very late because kelvin wont leave her till he was satisfied and she has also missed him. she was surprised to see Charles waiting for her at the doorstep.

"why are you here by this time? i thought you were busy at school" she said and quickly open the door for him.

"lets go in" she said and they both entered together.

"how long have you been standing there? will you like me to make you something for you?" she asked and drop her bag on the table and turn on the heater.

"about three hours" he answered and sat down.

"then why didn't you call me, there is a spare key around the doorstep you could have just used it to open the door" she walk to the cabin to get a glass of water for him.

"where are you coming from?" he asked changing the topic.

"from work obviously" she lied.

"when did you start getting off work by this time of the day?its almost twelve"

"there was an emergency at work today so i had work overtime and why are you questioning about my where about?" she said raising her voice in anxiety.

"am back together with Evelyn" he told her.

"Evelyn Hart? back together? i told you i don’t ever want to see the both of you together. you and her are just not possible together" she yelled.

"break up with her right now!" she screamed and move closer to him to take his phone.

"save your breath because that's not going to happen. why do you say we are impossible?you don’t even know this girl" he said also getting pissed off.

"its doesn't matter if i know her or not. she belong to a wealthy home. do you think her parents are going to allow you be with her?' she said to persuade him.

"is that why you caused misunderstanding between us to break us up?"

"yes, that's why, am your sister your only family, i will always want the best for you"

"am not a kid. i know what the best is for me. you are just making excuses. i want you to tell me the real reason you don’t want us to be together" he said in a demanding tone.

"what other reason? that's the only reason..."

"don’t play dumb with me" Charles yelled and hit the table.

"you better tell me now or i will force the words out of your mouth" he shouted and stood up to her.

"why are you acting like this? you are scaring me" she said sacred.

"am scaring you? you think what am doing is scary? more than what you did you think this is scary? you are dealing with the the Hart not just any other people but Maxwell Hart, are you asking for a dead wish?"

"how..did..you..know..that?" she stuttered.

"how did i know that you almost became a murderer for a guy” "did you admit it?" he cuts in and Amy realized that she has given herself away. Charles sat down and try to calm down before talking.

"who is he?" he asked.

"this is not something for you know" she responded stubbornly

"is it?you know i work there and my girlfriend is the younger sister of the guy you are plotting to kill and you think its none of my business? you failed once and they let you go. do you think they will let you go the second time?" he shouted at her.

"is not what you think okay, and i wont get caught" she said not giving up.

"you idiot, you are caught already"

"did Maxwell tell you this?"

"what do you think? that you will do everything and i wont know. do you think your so called lover is going to save you did you?" they were interrupted by the ringing of his phone. he motion for her to wait and pick it up. it was an unknown number.

"come outside with your sister"
