CHAPTER 39

Hudson slowly opened his eyes and a groan left his lips as a sharp pain hit his head. Sitting up and looking around to see, John, Eclipse, Blink all lying on the floor, unconscious, he sprang up his feet.

His eyes landed on Ben who face was covered with blood.

" Dad!" He exclaimed, rushing to him. He sat down beside Ben, placing his head on his laps while tapping his cheeks gently.

" Dad...open your eyes...please" He continued calling out to Ben, who slowly opened his eyes, letting out a painful groan.

" Dad" Hudson called happily, his eyes full of hope.

" Don't worry, I'll help take you to he emergency unit, ok?" He rasped and made to stand up.

" No...Hudson...listen...to what I have to say" Ben said, his voice indicating he was very weak.

" Dad, you can tell me that lthat later. First of all, you need to get some treatment" Hudson replied.

" No...just listen me...it's really important" Ben groaned and just then, John slowly opened his eyes, sitting up.

" What happened?" He muttered, looking around.

" Thank goodness you're awake John" Hudson voiced snapped John to his direction. He quickly rushed to him and eyes widened in shock on seeing Ben.

" What happened to him?" He asked.

" Alvara...she's the one responsible for this. She almost killed my Dad" Hudson answered.

" The fuck?"

" Hudson listen to me...please" Ben spoke up, turning their attention to him.

" You shouldn't blame Alvara...for any of this..." He began and Hudson frowned at him in confused.

" But she almost killed you" He half yelled making Ben groan in paint.

" I deserve it...it's not her fault" Ben said.

" But what suddenly got into her, I don't understand?" John asked.

" She found out...the truth...she found out...I killed her gather" Shock ran through Hudson and John.

" What?!" Both exclaim.

" But her Dad was among the Brotherhood who were killed during the war...how can you say you killed him?" Hudson questioned not wanting to believe what Ben just said.

" The war didn't kill the Brotherhood. The out blast from the war only...rendered them powerless. They went into hiding for 12 years but finally decided to show up..." Another painful groan left Ben's lips but he continued.

" I was working for the Sentinel then...and I was in charge. I received information about them and so...I sent out my crew to capture them...

" I wanted to get revenge for what happened to your Mom so I ordered for all of them to be killed but...". A strand of tears rolled down Ben's cheeks.

" Alvara's Dad managed to escape but I made sure to sent two bullets into his stomach...so he won't survive by any chance" Hudson too was crying listening to what Ben was telling him.

" This is messed up" John groaned slightly

" Hudson...you shouldn't be angry with Alvara...

" But she should have understand that you were a Sentinel then but you've changed now" Hudson trailed Ben off.

" Alvara is not herself, this isn't her. The anger and pain she was feeling made way for a dark side of her to manifest and now controlling her. She's no longer the Alvara we all know" Ben revealed letting out another groan before started coughing uncontrollably. Fear gripped Hudson.

" Dad" He called but Ben continued coughing.

" We need to take him to the emergency unit...now" John stood up and him and Hudson carried Ben off the floor. John's eyes landed on Eclipse and Blink lying on the floor and it widened.

" She hurt them too?" He couldn't help but ask and Hudson nodded.

" Can you take Ben downstairs all by yourself?" He asked Hudson who nodded.

Getting to the emergency unit with Hudson carrying Ben and John carrying Blink, all nurses gathered, including Gianna who helped Hudson place Ben on the bed.

" What happened to him?" She asked, trying to stabilize Ben who was still coughing.

" He suddenly started coughing uncontrollably" Hudson answered and Ben started convulsing making Hudson's fear increase the more.

" What's happening to my father?" He asked as tears rolled down his cheeks. John came back with Eclipse, leaving him and Blink in the hand of the other nurses.

Gianna tried stabilizing Ben who kept on convulsing. Injecting with an injection, Ben slowly stopped convulsing. Hudson and John heaved in relief. But Gianni's eyes widened on feeling his pulse.

" He's not responding to the medicine and his vitals are dropping" She said, exerting pressure on Ben's chest.

" He's pulse rate is falling, we have to keep on" She said and fear gripped Hudson again.

" Com'on why isn't he responding?" She mumbled. Her eyes widened again when something drawn to him.

" Gianna, why isn't my Dad responding...what's happening to him?" Hudson asked his lips trembling and Gianna keeping quiet only made his fear triple.

" Gianna why ain't you saying anything...what's wrong with Ben" John asked.

" I think Ben just entered into coma" Gianna finally dropped the bomb and Hudson froze on the spot.

Alvara and Maverick were now standing before a very huge door which, after scanning Maverick, opened by itself and the two stepped in.

" Wow...impressive" Alvara hummed as she and Maverick headed down the aisle which had different gadget on both side, the white bright bulb shinning through.

They got to yet another door which opened by itself before the headed to a room. Maverick opened the door and as the both of them stepped in, everyone present in the room, turned to them. Alvara's eyes widened on who she saw.

" Polaris,?!" She exclaimed and Polaris stood up immediately.

" Who the fuck is this?" Jade asked in anger.

" Alvara what are you doing here?" Polaris asked and Madelyn's eyes widened on the mention of Alvara.

" Alvara Lopez, one of the Fenris Twins" She thought, staring at her. A happy scoff escaped he lips.

" Shouldn't I be the one asking what you're doing here?" Alvara asked Polaris who noticed her sudden eye color.

" What happened to your eyes?" She couldn't help but ask.

"Irrelevant question" Alvara hissed.

" Alvara Lopez" Madelyn called turning Alvara's attention to her. A scoff escaped her lips as she approached closer.

" Wait...you know her?!" The Frost Sisters chorused in surprise.

" Of course...who doesn't know the all famous Alvara?" Madelyn smirked. Alvara stopped on getting to the conference table, standing beside Madelyn who smiled at her.

" Nice to meet you. My name is...

" Hold it with your formalities" Alvara cut her off much to everyone's surprise.

" It's important we introduced ourselves, don't you think?" Madelyn replied.

" Like I don't know who you all are" Alvara rolled her eyes coupled with a hiss.

" You're Madelyn. And these are the Frost Sisters; Opal, Jade and Ruby" Alvara said pointing at the each of the sisters, whose eyes widened in surprise.

" And this over there..." Alvara pointed at Liz.

" I don't know who that old hag is" She drawled making Liz stand immediately.

" Hey, watch your manners" She snapping at Alvara who rolled her eyes.

" Liz" Madelyn eyed her and Liz sat down.

" Well since you already know us all, we'll skip that part" Madelyn chuckled lightly. Alvara grabbed a sit and sat down, her legs crossed.

" So...what brings you here?" Madelyn asks.

" Revenge" Alvara replied and everyone except for Ryder ( Mavericks) frowned their brows in confusion.

" Revenge?" Madelyn couldn't help but ask.

" I already just said that...are you deaf?" Alvara snapping and everyone glared at her, including Madelyn.

" She got the nerves to talk to Madelyn that way" Opal whispered to Jade who scoffed.

" She's going down" She said.

Seeing Madelyn glaring dangerously at her, Alvara shrugged her shoulder, indicating she was intimidated by her glares. Madelyn forced a smile up her lips, obviously trying to show her boiling anger.

" Revenge, against who...if I may ask?" She chuckled.

" Against the Sentinels...all of them and also against Ben" Polaris eyes widened on the mention of Ben.

" Why the fuck do you want revenge again Ben, isn't he like a father to you?" She asks only to get a snort from Alvara's.

" He's also a Sentinel" She rolled her eyes.

" But he's no mo...

" He has to pay for his past mistakes, ok?!" Alvara snapped impatiently at Polaris and a satisfactory smirk formed on Madelyn's lips.

" She can really be of Goo use to me" She thought.

" If that's the case, you've come to the ri...

" Oh please...Ryder already told me that" Alvara trailed her off with a hiss.

" Ok...that's it" Jade banged her fist on the table, standing.

" She's too rude" She pointed out but Alvara sent her a deadly glare, making her flinch a bit on meeting her fiery eyeballs.

" Jade...sit down" Madelyn instructed and she huffed angrily before complying.

" Fool" Alvara scoffed.

" Alvara...we also have the same motive as yours. We want to take down the Sentinels and saved as many mutants as we can" Madelyn spoke up.

" I done give a damn about saving any mutant, that's your own fucking problem. All I want...is revenge, I wanna kill all of them" Alvara drawled.

" What did they even do to you that you want to kill them so bad?" Liz asked.

" None your fucking business...old hag" Alvara snapped and Liz felt like knocking her tooth's out and shoving them into her asshole.

" If that's what you want...that's what you'll get" Madelyn said.

" Now you're talking" Alvara smirked.

" Welcome to the Innercircle then" Madelyn smiled.

" My pleasure. And nice to meet y'all"

" Hudson" John called who turned, wiping his tears. He was sitting beside Ben who lying unconscious on thw bed.

" You're still crying?" John asked and he looked away.

" No I'm not" He sniffed.

" It's ok. I'm sure Ben will be fine" John assured.

" This is all Alvara's fault you know" Hudson sniffed.

" How can she do something like this to my Dad...she almost killed him" He mumbled and another round of tears rolled her cheeks.

" All I want to do right now...is just...is just sending her to coma like she did to my Dad" He glared with hatred.

" No Hudson. Remember what your Dad said. She's not the one doing all of these, a dark force is controlling her. Tell me, do you want to send her to coma, knowing to well she's not in her right sense?" John asked and Hudson slowly nodded negatively.

" We just have to let her calm down" He added.

" But what about my Dad? Can't we send him to the hospital to receive proper treatment?" Hudson couldn't help but ask.

" In as much as I want to...you know we can't" John replied sadly.

" But why?!"

" Because we're only going to endanger his already endangered life...do you seriously want to do that?" John asked.

" My Dad is dying and I won't because I'm scared of the Sentinels make me loose him. I am ready to take the risk and taking him to the hospital no matter what?" Hudson yelled and with that he left.

It was already midnight when everyone was fast asleep. Hudson who was pretending to be asleep, woke up and sneaked out of his room, his face covered in a mask. Getting to the emergency unit, he grabbed a wheelchair he saw, heading to Ben's bed. Making sure not make a single noise, he transferred Ben to the wheelchair before wheeling him out of the unit.

Knowing the front door will be locked, he headed through the backyard, sneaking into the bushes, not minding how late and dangerous it was. Finally getting to the tad road, he heaved a relief and without looking back, he headed straight with his family's hospital in his mind.
