Chapter 36: Chapter 36
CHAPTER 36
" Alvara" Hudson called out and made to tap her shoulder but her next word halted him.
" Dad" Alvara mumbled. Hudson was taken a back a bit by what she said.
" Dad?" He muttered, looking up at the statue Alvara was staring at.
" Wait...is that your dad?" He asked.
" Dad" Alvara chuckled happily, running inside the entrance.
" Your Dad is one handsome dude" Hudson mumbled before going after her.
Alvara pulled a brake on her leg on getting inside and surprisingly...it was a room.
" Dad" She called, looking around. She rushed over to the bed made with rocks
" Dad" She called again on seeing no one. Hudson rushed in just then.
" Dad...come out...your daughter is here" Alvara called out, pacing from one end of the room to the other, her happiness gradually turning to disappointment when no one appeared.
" Dad!" She yelled this time around and Hudson grabbed her wrist immediately.
" No one is here Alvara" He said but Alvara fling his hand off
" Someone has to be here...my Dad has to be here. This is his cave right?" Alvara ranted still looking around.
" Alvara listen...Alvara..." Hudson tried stopping her but she kept calling out to her Dad.
" Alvara listen!" Hudson yelled at her, grabbing her wrist.
" No one is here Alvara...no one" He said in a much calmer tone.
Alvara's eyes met a scroll on top of a structure which looked like a table but made from rocks. She quickly walked over to the table and grabbed the scroll which was gradually getting worn out.
She opened the scroll, reading out what was written o it;
" To my lovely unborn baby Alvara;
" This is the third letter I'll be writing to you but by the time you are to see this ( if only you will), I'll be gone for good. If there's a way I can pass this later to you so you won't bother trying to find me...then I'll do it. I'm really sorry I couldn't give you the love of a father due to circumstances. I'm sorry you'll have to live the rest of your life with a father...
Alvara paused as tears already flooded her eyes. She pressed her lips together, looking up to prevent her tears from down. Looking down, she continued;
" I just want you to know that I love you and your Mom, so much. Tell her not to grieve so much about my death. I might be gone but I'll forever remain in your hearts.
From the best dad in the world
Lopez
Alvara shut her eyes close and tears rolled down.
" Alvara" Hudson called softly and she slowly turned, her already red eyes meeting his. Seeing the tears in her eyes made a weird pain stab Hudson's heart. Alvara quickly wiped her tears before letting out a painful scoff.
" You know...I wasn't expecting this...really" She chuckled in pain.
" When Morgan told us about this cave...I was so happy that I'll find my dad that I was able to take the risk. I didn't care about the obstacles we would face. I knew that finding my Dad is worth it...
" When I saw his statue outside, my hope and happiness went really high. I was so overjoyed that I was thinking ' if I just rush in, I'll see my Dad waiting for me in anticipation...
" I was expecting to see something like ' I'm so proud of you Alvara'. I swear...I never...I never expected it...to be..." Shutting her eyes close again and more tears rolled down. She looked up, breathing out, trying as much as possible to hold back her tears but they were rolling down uncontrollably.
Seeing her tears, made Hudson's heart arch the more and truth be told...he too felt like crying. He has never seen Alvara in this state before.
" I swear...I...never expected the message...to be...to be goodbye...forever" Alvara was already choking on her tears. When Hudson couldn't bear her tears, he pulled her to a tight hug. Alvara hugged him back as she let her tears fall freely.
" I'm sorry" Hudson mumbled, stroking her back gently while Alvara wrapped her hands around him more tightly.
" If there's a way I can you from feeling this pain, then I swear I'll do it" Hudson mumbled.
After crying to her satisfaction, soaking Hudson's cloth with her tears, Alvara realized she was hugging him tightly. She quickly pulled out, wiping her tears off her face.
" Are you ok now?" Hudson asked.
" Yeah, I'm much better" Alvara sniffed.
" So where were we?" She asked clasping her hands together. Hudson glared at her, surprised.
" What?" He mouthed.
" Weren't you like the one crying literally few seconds ago and now you're acting like nothing actually happened?" He scoffed in disbelief.
" Well maybe that's how I am. You don't expect me to cry my eyes out...it won't bring him back from the dead" Alvara rolled her eyes making Hudson scoff even the more, staring blankly at her.
" You can't quit staring at me with parted lips while we look for a way out of here" Alvara snapped at him.
" Well, the problem will be looking for a short cut out of here" Hudson folded his arms while Alvara was busy scanning the layer to see if there are any tunnels which can lead them out of the cave. Hudson on the other hand saw two other scrolls which was also on the table so he took one of them. He made to open it when;
" I think I found a way out of here" Alvara announced. He quickly grabbed the two scroll, dipping them into his pocket and rushing towards Alvara. Standing before them was what looked like a passage.
" I think this will lead us out of here" Alvara said.
" And what if it leads us to yet another booby trap?" Hudson asked making Alvara glare at him.
" If it will lead to another booby trap...then why is it in my Dad's layer?" Alvara hissed before entering the passage.
" I just...in case", Hudson shrugged training behind her. The passage way wasn't dark so they could see clearly.
" I still can't believe we lost our phones" Hudson spoke up making Alvara scoff
" That will be better than our lives" She said.
" We'll just get another one once we get home" She added
" Have we been in here for up to a week or maybe month?"
" Of course...If possible even longer" Alvara shrugged.
" Come on don't exaggerate things. I think probably a day. We would be probably dead if we stay more than that" Hudson reasoned.
" We'll see about that then" The two of them finally got to the end of the passage. Looking at each other, they both exhaled deeply before stepping out to the open. On stepping out, happiness overwhelmed them on what they saw...
