CHAPTER 35

" I think I get it!" Hudson exclaimed immediately, startling Alvara.

" Get what?" She asked in confusion. Hudson placed his hands on her shoulder, turning her to face him

" This is the right door" He said pointing at the door before them. Alvara glared at him like he has finally lost it.

" How sure are you?" She decided to ask.

" You this mark on this door?" He asked, turning Alvara to face the door. Alvara nodded on the seeing the mark of a Lion's head on the door

" I was wondering where I saw the mark before and now it drown to me that I saw it at your house" Hudson said.

" My house?" Alvara asked in confusion.

" You remember the picture of that old man in which the hidden lab was behind?" Alvara nodded a yes

" While surveying the picture, I saw this same sign on the man's left arm. It was a tattoo drawn on his arm" Hudson revealed making Alvara gasped.

" Are you sure Hudson? I don't remember seeing something like that" Alvara emphasized.

" I am a 100% sure Alvara...I saw it" Hudson replied

" For that same tattoo to be on this door...then it must be the right door" He added.

" You do have a point Hudson, but...what if this isn't the right door either?" Alvara asked.

" There's no harm in giving it a try right?"

" The last time I tried that...I almost lost you" Alvara replied.

" Ok, here's the thing; we'll keep an eye on that crossbow while opening the door...is that ok?" Hudson suggested and Alvara exhaled deeply.

" Fine. Go on and open it"

Hudson placed his hand on the door and as usual...the door slowly started opening. Alvara's eyes was glued to the crossbow to see if it was moving but.. surprisingly, it wasn't. The door fully opened and the duo shut their eyes, expecting to be stabbed or maybe for the the ground to open up and swallow them...yet none of that happened.

The two slowly opened their eyes and happiness ran through them seeing they were alive and the door was open.

" You did it Hudson...you opened the right door" Alvara chuckled happily.

" Yeah...I can't believe it" Hudson scoff in disbelief. Alvara placed her hands on his shoulder, turning him to face her.

" You know what?... you deserve a hot kiss right now for what you did" Hudson's eyes widened at what Alvara said and his heart started accelerating fast. Alvara stepped closer to him with a sincere smile on her lips making Hudson swallow nothing.

" But I'm gonna give you a punch instead" Alvara chuckled, hitting his arm in a playful manner

" Ouch" Hudson winced as his face clouded in disappointment.

" Com'on...let's go figure out what's inside" Alvara giggled, patting his arm. A scoff escaped Hudson's lips.

" I can't believe you Hudson...what were you expecting?" He questioned himself still scoffing.

The two teenagers stepped in and immediately their foot entered the room, the door shut close immediately and the lights came on...startling them. The stepped forward and their jaw dropped on seeing where they were. Here is the description of the room;

There were like up to six large pillars each reaching to about nine feet tall. There were 7 different extremely huge statue, each on its own position. Three statue was on the right while another three...on the left. Then in the middle of the six statue's was another much larger statue of an old man. The three statue on the right were that of women and the one on the left...that of men.

Each on of them were tying a scarf on their forehead with the tattoo of the Lion's head on their left arms. Under the leg of each statue was was an entrance with no door.

In the middle of the room was a large fountain but not as huge as the statue's. The statue was the structure of a Lion's head. And instead of the fountain to be filled with water...it was half fire and half ice

" Wow" The two teenagers mouthed.

" Will this cave ever stop amazing me?" Hudson muttered.

These...are... one...extremely...huge statue's" Alvara breathed out. Compared to one statue, they were like tiny ants

The looked up, trying to see if they could see the face of the statue's. Compared to a mere human...that will totally be impossible but surprising, they were able to see their faces.

" Wait...this is the same old man in that picture" Hudson gasped pointing at the statue in the middle.

" But who is this man?" He asked.

Alvara on the other hand looked up at the second statue at the left side of the room. She suddenly went still immediately on seeing the face of the man and her eyes widened, her lips parted. She staggered back in shock. Hudson turned on noticing her silence.

" Alvara" He called on seeing the shock in her face. It was as if she just saw a horrific scene.

" Alvara" He made to tap her shoulder but her next word halted his hand midair.

John was standing by the terrace in the Underground, staring blankly at space. Guilt was eating him up for not being able to stop Polaris and now...she's no where to be found.

He was so lost in thoughts that he didn't even notice Blink standing behind him. She placed her hand on his shoulder, startling him a bit. He turned and saw Blink smiling at him and only God knows how much he wanted to hug her, how much he wanted to hear her comforting words.

As if Blink already knew what was going on in his mind, she widened her arms, reading to embrace him. John quickly pulled her to a tight hug and she hugged back.

" I failed...not only as a leader...but also a friend" John mumbled in regrets.

" I couldn't even stop her just like I couldn't stop my sister" He added, trying to fight back his tears. Blink pulled out from the hug, cupping his face. Their eyes looked and she could see and feel the pain in John's eyes.

" You didn't fail anyone John.. believe me" She spoke up.

" Then why couldn't I stop her?" John asked.

." Because sometimes in life...we can't control everything the way we want and we can't force someone to do what we want. We can't only try convincing them and if it didn't work...we let them do their thing" Blink explained.

" John...I want you...to accept that just because you're a leader...doesn't guarantee everything being under your control. You're not perfect...so stop trying to make yourself perfect because everyone accepts you the way you are...I accept you the way you are" Blink said, staring intently into his eyes.

" You're are the best leader...we all know that"..

" But I failed you...didn't I?" John's question left Blink speechless.

" I failed our friendship and selfishly wanted more even though you d...

" And what if I tell you that I also want more?" Blink trailed him off

" Huh?" John stared at her in confusion.

Blink exhaled before speaking up.

" I'm sorry I left you hanging that day. I should have at least said something...I wanted to but maybe didn't have the courage...

" But now...I want tell you...how I really feel about" Blink continued. She slowly took John's hand into hers.

" I love John...not as a friend...but more than that" She finally professed and John's pupil dilated. Unexplainable happiness ran through him.

" Really?" He beamed and Blink nodded shyly. John quickly held on to her back neck and pulled her face closer before claiming her lips in a deep kiss. Blink reciprocated, wrapping her hands around his waist.

Breaking the kiss, John pulled her too a tight hug, a broad smile plastered on their faces.....
