Chapter 30: Chapter 30
CHAPTER 30
" We're gonna die Alvara...we're gonna die" Hudson said in the creepiest tone he could think of. Alvara quickly shrugged his hand off her shoulder.
" You're the one who's gonna die. Of what if I may ask...
" Of being too paranoid" She snapped.
" Fine. You know what...do whatever you like" Hudson raised his hands in form of a surrender.
" Good" Alvara mumbled before turning to face the diamonds.
" And I'll take...one and two and three, a four...five...six..." Alvara counted as she picks the diamonds from the wall, storing it inside her backpack. Hudson did nothing but watching, his eyes still roaming the to see if anything will happen.
" A 13...14...15..." Seeing that nothing happened, Hudson's heart relaxed a bit.
" And a...20" Turning to Hudson who was leaning on the wall, Alvara raised a brow at him
" Told ya nothing will happen, Mr paranoya" She sassed.
" Just relax your mind" She added and just then a cracking sound was heard. Hudson stood fully, his ear on guard.
" What was that?" He asked.
" Com'on...I'm sure it's nothing. Relax...ok?" Alvara chuckled lightly and another cracking sound was heard.
" Did you hear that?" Hudson rasped
" Yep, I did" Alvara muttered.
Another cracking sound was heard coupled with the tunnel vibrating a bit, making Hudson and Alvara hold on to the wall for support.
They both slowly looked down only to see cracked line on the ground. Their eyes widened on seeing the line coupled with yet another cracking sound.
" Don't...take...a step" Hudson shuttered as he and Alvara froze on the point, their left leg hung halfway to the ground. Few minutes passed and surprisingly, no cracking sound was heard.
The two of them breathed out loudly as their heart which has already digested in their stomach, went back to it's position.
" That was close" Hudson mumbled.
" Told ya nothing was gonna...
Immediately, the ground cracked open and Hudson and Alvara fell off.
×. ×. ×
" Where the fuck are those two?" Ben ran his hand through his hair in frustration. An angry groan left his lips.
" They've been missing for a day now. We've searched everywhere possible still...no, so where could they have gone?" He asked John was frustrated too.
" I don't know" John groaned.
" So how am I gonna tell Emily that her daughter is missing, huh?"
" I don't think it's a good idea to do that. Telling Emily about this will only make her worry the more. For now, I suggest...let's keep searching, maybe we will find them" John adviced and Eclipse rushed in just then.
" Any hope?" Ben asked almost immediately.
" Nope...they're not there either" Eclipse answered.
" I searched both Hudson and Alvara's school, they weren't there and when I asked Jayden to help me check whether the Sentinels brought in two new mutants...he said no" He added.
" Fuck it!" Ben cursed.
" What if they're in grave danger?"...
BACK TO ALVARA AND HUDSON
" Arghhhhhh!!" The two teenagers yelled on top of their voices as they wrapped their hands around each other in a tight hug. They we're falling off with speed, their hair ruffling against their faces, their lips flapping as they kept screaming.
20 mins passed with the duo still falling off and screaming but this time around in a slower pace.
" Ok, we should probably stop screaming" Alvara said.
" Yep" Hudson backed her up.
Their gaze locked just then and that was when they realize they were hugging tight to each other and their face was really close.
Staring intently into each other's eyes, Alvara realized that Hudson's eyes wasn't just brown but slightly golden. Her lips parted a bit and Hudson's eyes drifted to it. His heart skipped a beat and the urge to taste them came rushing. Alvara's eyes too drifted to Hudson's lips and to her surprise, she felt the urge to kiss them but she quickly shrugged it off her mind.
Instead, she let out a slight cough, snapping him out. They both let go of each other, looking away.
" Are we still falling?" Alvara groaned slightly.
" I think we've been falling for an hour now...so boring" She rolled her eyes. Hudson scoffed at what she said.
" Well if only someone paid attention to what...I...told.. them earlier" He muttered but loud enough for Alvara it hear it.
" Oh God, tell me he isn't gonna start bugging my life with ' I told you, didn't I'?" Alvara mumbled with an eye roll.
" Why will I do that to a duff and stubborn maniac like you?" Hudson scoffed.
"Ok...that's too much vile word for one person" Alvara glared.
" Yeah. And it defines you. You...just don't listen" Hudson pointed out.
" And because of your stubbornness...we've been falling off for like what seems as eternity, worst think of...to an indefinite location. And who knows maybe, we might continue falling till we're out of gravity and probably start floating in space and of course...grow old and eventually die and rotten here" He entreated, making Alvara roll her eyes. Looking down, her eyes widened.
"Oh-oh!" She muttered.
" What?" Hudson raised a brow at her
" I think we're gonna fall into a...
Just then,a big splash of water can be seen as the two fell into a river. Titling their heads out of the water, they both let out a gasped.
" You didn't tell me their was a river" Hudson snapped.
" I was about saying that, can't you see I was interrupted" Alvara snapped back. Just then Hudson noticed that the river they were in was eventually moving.
" Why is this river moving?" He asked, his eyes widened broadly.
Alvara swallowed nervously when she too noticed the moving river. The duo was moving along with the river until they reached it's cliff hang. That was when it drawn to them that they were about falling off into a...
