CHAPTER 21

“ Wait….what?...” Maverick asked, confused at Alvara’s exclamation.

“ The Fenris Force” Alvara repeated.

“ Yeah I heard that” Maverick snapped.

“ My question is…what is the Fenris Force?” He asked.

“ The Fenris Force possessed by the Fenris Twins” Alvara replied and Maverick’s eyes widened a bit.

“ Wait…you mean…Hayden and Hunter?” He questioned to be sure.

“ Yeah” Alvara replied.

“ Oh. So their power is calling Fenris Force” He mouthed.

“ But seriously…what does it have to do with what we’re discussing?” He asked. Alvara looked up.

“ Hudson and I possess that power” She revealed to Maverick whose eyes widened even the more.

“ What?!” He exclaimed.

“ But how is that even possible? According to history, the Fenris Twins and their power died long ago after Hunter was killed” He added.

“ Well. It’s as simple as this; Hayden was my great-grandfather and Hunter was Hudson’s great grandpa” Alvara drawled.

“ Wow” Maverick mouthed in awe.

“ I can’t believe I’m standing in front of the second generation Fenris Twins” He chuckled.

“ You can put it that way though” Alvara hummed.

“ But I still have the same question as before. What does all these have to do with the disappearance of the Brotherhood?” Maverick asked.

“ Hudson’s grandpa once told is about the dark side of the Fenris Force which manifests only when the duo turn against each other” Alvara began.

“ He revealed to us that Hunter wasn’t actually shot dead. Instead, the duo killed each other in a fight for leadership using their dark side of fire and ice…

“ And on the day of their battle, there was this great and dangerous out blast that killed them and many other people; the same thing this book said happened on the day the Brotherhood disappeared…

“ This book also said that on that day, the moon turned half fire and half ice which means…

“ The war between the Twins was what led to the disappearance of the Brotherhood” Maverick chimed in.

“ Exactly” Alvara replied.

“ Ohhh” Maverick exclaimed with a nod.

“ Now that makes sense” He added.

“ If I want to find the Brotherhood, I need more information about the Twins’ war and only Hudson’s grandpa can help out” Alvara muttered.

“ Then you better go inform Hudson about it” Maverick advised, making Alvara scoff.

“ Not happening” She hissed.

“ Why?”

“ There’s no need informing him. It’s my dad we’re talking about here” Alvara replied.

“ But you need his help…

“ I don’t need his help. I can go meet his grandpa whenever I want” Alvara cut him off.

“ Ok, if you say so” Maverick muttered.

“ No offense but…are you and Hudson ok?” He couldn’t help but ask.

“ Can we not talk about him?” Alvara seethed, already getting irritated on the mention of Hudson.

BACK TO POLARIS AND MATTEO

“ What is going on?” Matteo mouthed in shock as he watch the Sentinel cops drop dead on the floor. Even Polaris too was shocked. Matteo cracked his gun pointing at her.

“ Freeze or I’ll shoot” He threatened and a hiss escaped Polaris’ lips. Throwing her left leg up in the air, she knocked off the gun Matteo was holding, grabbing it mid air before pointing it at him.

“ How about you freeze?” She smirked.

Eclipse finally got to where she was and rushed towards her, pulling her to a hug. Breaking from the hug,

“ Are you ok? Tell me did he hurt you in anyway, huh?” One could sense the fear and worry in Eclipse’s voice. Polaris smiled at him, making his mind relax a bit.

“ I’m ok Leriel, don’t worry” She assured.

Looking around, Eclipse became surprised staring at the officers lying dead on the floor.

“ What happened?” He asked.

“ I don’t know Leriel. They were suppose to send me to hell but ended sending each other there” Polaris replied.

“ Why will they do that?” Eclipse scoffed, confused.

“ That…I can’t fathom. But I feel someone was controlling their minds. I mean, that’s the only possibility I could think of” Polaris shrugged.

“ Who could have done this?” Eclipse mumbled to himself.

“ We did” A familiar voice said. Eclipse and Polaris both turned to the direction where the voice came from only to see the last people they expected to see.

“ The Frost Sisters?” Eclipse exclaimed but it came out as a question.

“ Yes..us” One of them being Ruby replied. Eclipse glared angrily at them, his blood already boiling.

“ What are you trios doing here?” He hissed amidst gritting teeth’s. If there are one set of people he hated with everything in him, then the Sister’s are in his top list. He hated them because of the fact that they’re from the rivalry group.

“ I don’t think that question should be asked. A little ' thank you' will be much appreciated, duff head” Opal sassed with her specialized talent; insulting someone. And Eclipse hated her the most among the Sister’s.

“ Opal is right Eclipse. We saved your wife so you should start by thanking us” Jade the eldest backed up, making Eclipse hiss.

“ Forget about that happening”

“ Tell us, why are you guys here?” Polaris asked, changing the topic.

“ Well, we received information about the 4 mutants who the Sentinels were shipping out so we came to do the same as you guys….save them” Jade answered.

“ See, we ain’t the enemy here. Since we all have the same motive, joining hands together to get the job done will be pretty easier” Ruby added.

“ How were you guys able to manipulate those Sentinels despite our powers being disrupted?” Eclipse queried still not wanting to believe the Sister’s were here to help them.

“ Oh about that….. here’s the thing; Pulse doesn’t have the power over us so far our powers are combined” Opal replied.

“ Wait…you know Pulse?” Polaris asked in surprise.

“ Oh, who doesn’t know Pulse, the only mutant with the ability to disrupt other mutant ability?” Ruby scoffed.

“ We all thought he was dead long ago but surprisingly, he is alive and is controlled by the Sentinels so…end of story” Jade added.

Polaris glared at Matteo who she was still holding at gunpoint before turning to Eclipse.

“ See Leriel, they’re here to help us” She pointed out to him.

“ But I’m sure they have some sort of ulterior motive behind it” Eclipse refused.

“ There are no ulterior motive Leriel, they are mutants like us” Polaris groaned but Eclipse wasn’t yet convinced.

“ Fine. Even if you don’t trust them, let’s work with them to save the mutants” She said. The Sister’s were already grinning in satisfaction knowing Polaris is gradually siding with them.

“ Fine” Eclipse gave in.

“ But…. Bear in mind that this is for the time being” He snapped, making the Sister’s roll their eyes.

“ Since we’ve all agree to work together, what’s the plan?” Polaris asked and a smirk creeped up the Sister’s lips.

“ Leave it to us” They all echoed. Walking over to Matteo, they all smiled at him.

“ Matteo, we met again” Jade smirked.

“ What do you maniacs want?” Matteo hissed.

“ A simple job. We want you to free all the mutants in that truck” They all said in harmony, staring intently at him and pointing at the truck.

Their eyeballs suddenly turned deep blue and Matteo went still almost immediately, his eyeballs turning blue too. The Sister’s eyeballs went back to normal before Jade spoke up.

“ Repeat after me….My name is Marcus” She said.

“ My name is Marcus” Matteo repeated and a wide smirk formed on the Sister’s lips. Eclipse and Polaris stared in anticipation.

“ Good boy” Ruby complimented.

“ Now, I want you to head over to that truck and unlock it…now” Jade commanded and Matteo nodded before heading to the truck. He unlocked the truck.

“ Good. Now enter inside and unlock the Inhibitor in all the mutant’s neck” Ruby commanded this time around. Bringing out the remote control in his pocket, Matteo climbed on into the truck, walking over to the 4 mutants before unlocking the Inhibitor.

The 4 mutants glared at Matteo in confusion.

“ Now command all the mutants there to leave the truck immediately” Opal was the one who spoke up this time around. Matteo nodded at her words.

“ All of you, leave the truck now” He commanded, making the mutants stare at him in more confusion, like he has finally gone nuts. Well, who won’t? I mean why will a Sentinel of all people suddenly free the mutants in his captivity, a crazy one right?

“ Get lost, now!” Matteo yelled at them, making them flinch back in fear.

“ Let’s leave” The guy among them spoke and one after another, they all existed the truck. One stepping out, they saw Eclipse, Polaris and the frost Sisters smiling at them.

“ Who are you?” One among them asked.

“ We’re your fellow mutants. We’re here to save you, don’t be scared” Eclipse answered.

“ Good boy Matteo, good boy” Jade complimented.

“ Now the last thing to do; enter the truck and drive all the way to the airport” She added. Matteo stepped out of the truck and entered the driver’s seat, pushing the main driver out. Igniting the engine, he drove off.

Meanwhile, John, Hudson and Blink went in search for Pulse. John decided to try use his foresight and surprisingly it went through.

“ Guys, I think my powers are back” He announced in happiness.

“ Really?” Blink beamed and he nodded. Trying to create a Portal, Blink chuckled when it worked.

“ Mine is working too” She exclaimed.

“ John how about you try using your foresight to see if you can find Pulse” Hudson suggested and John nodded. Using his foresight to pass through the woods, right in the middle of the forest, he caught something.

“ I can see him. He’s in the woods but I think he’s in trouble”

Getting to the middle of the woods, they all froze on what they saw.
