Chapter 33: Chapter 33

Lucien stops when he hears Scarlet’s loud laughter; sensing her emotions, he notices that she is having fun.

"Who are those two women next to you?" he asks.

Walter turns his eyes and sees two women: "Those two are Lady Scarlet’s maids," he replies, though his voice betrays his disdain.

"Oh, I see..." He loses interest in them, looks at Walter, his smile widens, and he never thought training could be so much fun.

He’s getting the hang of turning into mist, but he’s far from mastering it. Google seaʀᴄh NoveIꜰire.net

"Now that I can move, what’s next?" he asks.

"Learn about vampire society."

"Ugh... I thought I was going to have a fight at the end of training." He wants to test his current limits, but he knows that knowledge and combat go hand in hand... although he is honestly curious about vampire society.

But Walter’s response to him will bring a big smile to his face.

"We’ll have a fight, so Lady Scarlet can determine what training she’ll give you," he replies with a deadpan expression as he recalls Scarlet’s training.

That expression only made Lucien’s curiosity skyrocket even more; he was like a curious cat. He takes a deep breath and clenches his fists, remembering that feeling. His body is covered in a mist, and he disappears.

Suddenly, he reappears next to Scarlet. "Finally..." he murmurs. It was the first time he had moved as he had intended.

"It seems you finally did it, dear." Scarlet smiles, already wanting to grab him and train him herself. Lucien reeked of potential.

"But it’s still not enough, I have a long way to go." He sighs, disappears into a mist, and appears in front of Walter.

"He just ignored us," says Adele. They didn’t even give them a courtesy glance; it was as if they were nothing more than air. "Isn’t that newborn a bit too arrogant?" she grumbles, annoyed.

"Hahaha~ just as I thought, my husband is truly one of a kind," Scarlet laughs amusedly, resting her chin on her hand, her eyes shining brightly.

"It certainly is quite unique..." Melenia murmurs as she takes a seat.

"It seems you’ve got the hang of it; now you just need to master it." Walter looks at him in surprise; that level of learning was too absurd.

’I can’t wait to see it grow, how monstrous it will become.’ He is already looking forward to the future; a smile appears on his lips.

He pushes his thoughts aside and says, "Well, that’s all for now; now you will move on to testing your combat skills and powers."

Lucien flashes a predatory smile.

Walter adopts a fighting stance and gestures to him, inviting him to attack.

His body is covered in red lightning bolts, and he moves, leaving red flashes in his wake.

"Impressive speed," Walter remarked, blocking his fist inches from his face and kicking him hard in the stomach, sending Lucien flying.

Lucien performs several acrobatic moves and sits up. "Ah~ This is so much fun," he smiles broadly, revealing his sharp teeth. A marble-sized ball of blood appears on his index finger, and with a thought, he spins it at high speed.

And he just says, "Bang."

"!!!" Walter opens his eyes in surprise and dodges the powerful attack by turning into mist.

A loud explosion reverberated throughout the mansion, followed by the destruction of the garden floor, raising a large cloud of dust.

"HAHAHAHAHA~!" Lucien’s maniacal laughter echoes throughout the garden; he is enjoying himself.

Amidst the cloud of dust, Walter emerges at supernatural speed and appears beside Lucien.

Lucien tries to move, but his entire body is immobilized by fine silver threads, and he takes Walter’s punch squarely, the crack of breaking bones audible.

"Puaj..." He can feel several broken ribs; however, he doesn’t fly away because Walter’s threads are holding him down.

He tries to move, but he can’t. His body fills with red rays, which quickly run through the silver threads, causing Walter to take two steps back. Lucien adds more force and breaks the threads.

The red lightning intensifies, and Lucien takes a step and appears next to Walter. His hand disappears and reappears, turned to bone, but it will quickly regenerate.

Walter’s eyes glow bright red, and he moves his hands at high speed.

Ba-gahk! Ba-gahk! Ba-gahk!

The barrier of silver threads rumbles like a drum under a barrage of punches; Walter’s expression remains unchanged.

"That’s not the kind of power a newborn should have..." Adele murmured, watching the fight.

Suddenly, the atmosphere became thick, almost suffocating. Adele and Melenia turned their faces, and when they saw Scarlet’s expression, their bodies froze.

Scarlet smiled, revealing her fangs in a wide, predatory grin. Her crimson eyes burned with an unnatural glow. Her gaze was a mixture of fascination and desire: to her, her husband was not just a promising vampire, but a diamond in the rough, a monster yet to be polished.

’He has good combat instincts and adaptability, but he wastes a lot of movements and expends a lot of energy in his attacks. However, he has not yet shown me the form that Sesha told me about.’

Scarlet rose with an unsettling grace, and such a dense, murderous intent emanated from her body that the air seemed to die around her.

It was as if death itself had decided to walk among them.

Adele and Melenia, beside him, cringed under that invisible weight; the ground seemed to sink beneath their feet, and the simple act of breathing became torture.

"This is the first time I’ve seen Scarlet react so intensely." Melenia tried to hold back, but her feet were shaking; it was the first time she had seen Scarlet , not even when the vampire king’s son visited her.

Scarlet approached, Walter and Lucien stopped fighting, and looked at her, especially her husband, who had a curious look on his face.

"Walter," she called him.

"I’ll take care of it from now on. Good job, go and protect those two." Scarlet stood in front of Lucien with a big predatory smile.

"As you command, my lady." Walter bowed and appeared beside Adele and Melenia. He glanced at them quickly, but when he saw them, he turned his face away with disdain. "Compose yourselves," he said without looking at them.

"Lady Scarlet, will you face him...?" Adele commented after composing herself, her back covered in sweat.

"Incorrect, she’s going to test her limits," Melenia corrected, looking at Walter. "What was your impression after exchanging blows with him?" she asked.

"Hmm... He has a good sense for combat, but he’s very inexperienced... although I’m surprised that a newborn vampire has so much power." Walter shared his thoughts.

"But what is the power of blood?" she thought. It was the first time she had seen it.

"I understand," Melenia asked no further questions and focused her attention on Scarlet and Lucien.

In the center of the Garden, Lucien breathes heavily, though the big smile has not disappeared from his lips.

"A few moments ago, you said I was too weak to fight," he says, looking at her amused.

"Hahaha! Don’t get confused, I’m just going to push you to your limits. I want to see your powers firsthand," Scarlet replied with a provocative look.

"Heh~" He smiles. "So, shall we begin?"

Lucien appears in front of Scarlet in the blink of an eye and launches a combo of rough punches, all of which are blocked by her.

Seeing that it’s not working, he uses the power of lightning to its fullest, and blood comes out of his mouth.

Suddenly... his body disappears and all you hear is a metallic sound.

"Heh~, this is unexpected." Scarlet had grabbed Lucien by the neck with her hand; everything behind her had been destroyed, raising a huge cloud of dust, and she even took a step back.

"That didn’t work either," Lucien sighed. He knows she’s strong... but he didn’t know she was that strong. That move she called "Blink" was the one she used against the hunters, and they couldn’t react.

However, against his wife Scarlet, it didn’t work in the slightest; it was as if there was a huge wall in front of him that he couldn’t see the end of.

But was he disappointed? Of course not. On the contrary, he was excited that he could become stronger, like leveling up in a game.

Although... "Honey, you’re too strong." He sighed with a broad smile. "Now I understand why you said that."

"You thought it was arrogance," Scarlet looks at him, and he nods. "It can be taken as arrogance, but it’s confidence. Few beings can stand up to me." She shakes off his embrace and throws him against a tree.

Lucien rolls around on the floor several times, braces his hand firmly on the ground, and manages to stop himself. "It seems my wife is the strongest. How fortunate I am to have you."

"And you’re not wrong, dear," Scarlet smiles sensually, advancing with elegant steps. "Now, entertaining myself a little."

Suddenly, Lucien’s appearance began to change; his face began to peel away, revealing an entirely black composition whose only visible features were sharp teeth and red eyes. His body began to lose its shape, turning into a dark composition just like his face.

The world lost color for a moment; everyone felt the strong, murderous intent.
