Chapter 32: Chapter 32
A few minutes later, in the huge garden of Scarlet’s mansion.
Lucien suddenly feels something enter his shadow; he looks down and says, "Luna?"
His shadow moves as if it has a will of its own, confirming that Luna has just entered. He turns his face and, seeing Scarlet’s smile, understands that she let her in.
Luna, meanwhile, sighs as she returns to Lucien’s shadow. It was as if she had returned to her mother’s house after moving out on her own, and her mother welcomed her with her favorite meal.
"Lord Lucien," Walter calls him.
"Hmm?" Lucien raises an eyebrow in surprise and asks, "Why are you calling me Lord?"
"Because you’re Lady Scarlet’s partner; it’s the proper way to address you," Walter replied, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
Lucien felt a sense of déjà vu. He remembered when he had just become a vampire and Mayla had given him an almost identical answer. ’I wonder if it happened to Vanessa,’ he thought, and turned his attention back to Walter.
Walter claps his hands to start the training session: "We noble vampires instinctively know how to use our powers from the moment we are born; the only problem we have is that we lack control over them."
"It’s like a baby who instinctively knows how to cry or ask its mother for food."
"That’s right," Walter nods and continues, "It’s the same with our species. We know how to use our power, but we lack the control necessary to perfect it and take it to new levels."
"I see..." He understood; he felt it when he was testing his powers in the basement of Selene’s house, when he took that first step.
"Now then, do you know what our racial abilities are?"
"Yes," Lucien confirmed, "Selene mentioned them to me: regeneration, claws, turning into a swarm of bats, passing through walls, turning into mist, and floating." He said them as he remembered them.
"Now let’s put that aside and move on to practice, skipping the basics; after all, you already know what your unique powers are. So what we’re going to do today is learn how to control the basic powers of a vampire," Walter said, turning his attention to Scarlet, who was watching from afar: "Pay attention, pay attention to the movement I’m going to make."
Walter’s body begins to be covered by a mist, disappears, then reappears in front of Scarlet, and soon returns to the same position.
"See? This is a basic skill for all vampires. Now try it."
Lucien nods and takes a deep breath, fixing his attention on Scarlet. If the ability to "turn into mist" is in his nature, he only has to activate it; it’s the same as breathing.
He covers himself in mist and tries to do the same thing he did when he took his first step with his body covered in red lightning.
Suddenly, he disappears and reappears near the door leading inside the mansion.
"Tsk." He clicks his lips in annoyance; he intended to appear next to Scarlet. He realized that orienting himself in that state was not easy; he lacked that control. Even so, it still bothers him.
Then, he hears Scarlet’s seductive voice:
"Darling, don’t rush, you have everything, you have all eternity."
Lucien sighs, calming down; he wants to improve quickly... but there are no shortcuts when it comes to strength. "Although I’d like to spar with you, dear," he said, approaching Walter again.
"Kakaka... Honey, with me, it wouldn’t be sparring," Scarlet laughed amusedly, "You’d just get a one-sided beating. Right now, you’re too weak."
He just smiles, knowing it’s true. When he sensed her murderous intent, he knew his wife was very strong... no, she was a monster. At that moment, all his senses told him death was coming, that no matter what he did, death had already marked him.
He stands in front of Walter again, whose calm expression hasn’t changed in the slightest.
"You are very talented, Lord Lucien." Walter praises him sincerely; it usually takes longer. ’Now I understand why Lady Scarlet didn’t kill him,’ he thought, smiling.
Lucien said nothing, looking at him and waiting for him to continue.
Shortly after, Walter continued with his explanation: "The same thing happens with the ability to turn into a swarm of bats. However, this ability has a peculiarity, and if you train to the maximum, you will be able to multiply your consciousness in each of the bats."
"That’s great," he said in a neutral tone, but his eyes sparkled with curiosity.
"Although noble vampires tend to ignore these basic skills and focus solely on the powers they inherited from their parents, they don’t know that these basic skills can be modified. For example."
Walter’s body begins to decompose into an army of bats, and quickly passes over Lucien’s body. Lucien tries to move, but his body is completely immobilized.
He lowers his gaze and sees that his body is surrounded by fine silver threads.
"With the power to control the threads and using these powers, I modified the basic vampiric abilities to suit my power." Walter returns to normal; silver threads dance in the air in his hands.
He looks into his neutral eyes and then continues, "Why don’t you try familiarizing yourself with the basic powers first? Try using your basic vampire powers, and when you get used to them, we’ll train the powers you were born with. The basics are the most important; you need a solid foundation to build the pillars of your strength in the future..."
Walter warns him, "Remember, Lord Lucien, don’t use your unique powers; only use your racial powers."
"I know, I just have to control turning into mist, right?"
Scarlet, who has been watching Lucien’s entire training session from the beginning, calmly looks back and sees her two maids, Melenia and Adele.
"Welcome back, Lady Scarlet." The two gave a respectful greeting.
Scarlet just waves her hand dismissively and fixes her gaze back on her husband, who has been unable to move properly. ’But he’s absorbing everything Walter tells him like a sponge.’ Unlike how he had started, he was now moving better.
’I can’t wait to see him grow.’ She licked her lips sensually.
"My Lady, who is the person Walter is training?" asks Adele, watching the newborn vampire trying to control the movement of turning into mist.
"Hmm? Him?" Scarlet points and says with a smile, "He’s my husband."
"...Eh?" Melenia and Adele freeze as if they’ve turned into a block of ice... but that ice melts quickly and explodes: "My Lady, are you saying that with that vampire?"
Adele looks at Lucien again and, seeing that he is a newborn... which only means that he used to be human, did Lady Scarlet marry cattle? Is the world going to end tomorrow? Adele’s brain felt as if it had short-circuited.
’Just a moment ago, I spoke with Melenia about creating a husband.’ She can’t believe the irony of it all.
On the other hand, Melenia looks at the situation with amusement; she never expected Lady Scarlet to marry the cattle; it was truly a surprise. ’She saw something special in that newborn,’ she thought with a mischievous smile.
"Kakakaka~" Scarlet’s laughter rang out, vibrant and joyful. Her crimson eyes sparkled with amusement as she watched the stunned expressions on her two maids’ faces.
"I never imagined you would get married, ma’am," said Melenia, still with disbelief written all over her face.
"I didn’t imagine it either," Scarlet replied, crossing one leg over the other with feline elegance. Her body leaned back slightly against the backrest, and a predatory smile curved her lips. "But you should try it sometime... it can be much more interesting than you imagine."
"Marry the cattle?" exclaimed Adele, finally emerging from her state of shock. Her expression contorted into a grimace of disgust. "Never! They are only good for feeding us, not for sharing our beds." Thɪs chapter is updated by N0velFire.ɴet
The atmosphere froze.
"Adele..." Scarlet’s voice descended like an icy blade. Her fangs gleamed as she flashed a wide, dangerous smile, and a guttural growl resonated in her throat. "Watch your words."
Adele shuddered; her survival instinct overcame her pride. "Y-yes, ma’am!" She straightened up instantly, sweat running down her back as she kept her head down.
Melenia let out a slight sigh, as if witnessing for the umpteenth time a scene she knew all too well. "By the way, ma’am," she said softly, diplomatically changing the subject, "how long have you been training?"
Scarlet turned her head slightly toward the garden, where Lucien and Walter continued their practice. As she watched them, her gaze softened for just a moment, and she smiled sensually.
"They haven’t been training for more than half an hour."
"...What? Half an hour? How long ago was he turned into a vampire?"
"Hmm..." Scarlet hummed, as if she were thinking seriously: "It hasn’t even been a month since he became a vampire."
"Less than a month!?" Melenia turns abruptly toward Lucien, who continues to practice turning into mist. "How is that possible...?"
"As you can see..." Scarlet paused, her smile growing unnaturally as she remembered how they called Lucien the "devil’s son," and she couldn’t help herself:
