Chapter 39: Chapter 39
A Month Later....☁
*Laura Point Of View*
"What do you mean by he's caustic?" I asked confused.
"Codic is bitter and shar-"
"He's name is Cody and he is not bitter," I protested.
Me and Gabriel were presently on a date and he kept asking and telling me about Cody behaviour towards me and him together. He doesn't like Cody and Cody doesn't like him.
"You sound like you are on his side. You are arguing with your boyfriend just because of him?" He hissed and I rolled my eyes.
"Oh please! I think I'll have a headache if you don't stop talking," I said and he gave me a pointed look which I ignored.
"Me and Cody are just friends nothing else," I promised and he sighed as he raked his hair.
"Okay. I believe you," he smiled and I returned it.
"Now can we go. This place is a little restricted. I want to stretch my legs," I groaned and buried my head on the table.
"It's not restricted, you are just not used to it," he stated and I raised my head to stare at him.
"Don't give me that look," he said, looking away.
"What look?" I asked with a confused expression when I was nothing close to that.
"Okay, we'll go," he blurted out forcefully as he broke our gaze.
"Better!" I grinned as we stood up and he led me outside.
"Now I can feel the wind on my skin and let it take me anywhere," I stated dramatically, when we stepped out of the café.
"Oh! So you won't let me take you anywhere of my choice but you would love the wind to do that?" He cocked an eyebrow at me and I rolled my eyes.
"I was feeling restricted and home sick. Don't blame me!" I retorted, my hands held high in surrender.
"Okay then, since I don't want trouble. I'll take you home," he shrugged.
"Seriously?" I narrowed my eyes at him and he sighed.
"Or we go get some ice cream," he suggested and I smiled.
"Now you are being a good boyfriend," I cooed and he smiled but I wasn't done yet.
"After that we can go shopping if you want to be a great boyfriend," I smirked and he frowned. "But you still have a long way to go to be the best.."
I laughed. I have been trying my best to annoy him these days. I know, I know. I shouldn't act like this, but, it's fun..... What is wrong with me?
He tried to ignore me and hailed a cab. He muttered the street name and I didn't bother to catch it. I admit, I don't know anywhere in Bristol, I can't remember the name of a street I've been to, but I know the where to go.
Can you imagine, almost how many years of my life in this Bristol and I don't know even one name of a street here.
We got in and the driver zoomed off. The houses, the buildings, signs all seemed familiar.
I gave Gabriel tensed, pointed with confused looks and he smiled.
"I am taking you to get icecream like you said," he stated, not leaving any room for questions and I sighed.
I turned back my focus to my sightings. I have a weird feeling about this place, and why does it look so familiar.
"Thank you," I snapped back to reality turning towards Gabriel.
"We are getting down Laura," he stated and I nodded, reluctantly stepping out of the car.
"Thank you once again," Gabriel smiled to the driver who muttered 'welcome' before he drove off.
I looked around the odd place and I got a bad feeling.
"Gab," I called and he turned to me. "I've got a bad feeling about here."
He sighed,"it's okay! I come here most of the time."
"I really don't like here Gabriel. I think we should go."
"It'll be fine! The ice cream shop is just around the corner. And I wanted to pick the best shop, I want to get the best ice cream for the best girl so that I'll be the best boyfriend," he smirked and I slapped his arm, grinning.
"Ow! What was that for?" He asked as he rubbed his arm and I crossed my arms.
"For being so smart," I shrugged and he smiled.
"Now that you are feeling okay! Let's go get our ice cream," he stated and I gasped. He's right, I didn't think about that but I still have a bad feeling.
"Let's just be quick," I said and he nodded as he led me to an alley.
After a few steps, we arrived at the shop. We got in and out swiftly and, of course, I got a strawberry ice cream and some sprinkles, while, gab got a chocolate one.
We strolled around before he startled me with a small scream.
Gosh, I didn't know he screams like a girl.
"What is it?" I asked worried and he sighed.
"I forgot something in the ice cream shop," he said.
"I'll be back in a few. Please wait," he said as he hurried away.
Not having the time to think about it. A call came through from my big sis Kat.
"Where are you? I thought you would be back by now," she said and I smiled.
"Almost back. Gabby forgot something and I'm waiting, licking on my ice cream."
"Stop calling him that! I don't want you to come home with bruises and broken bones," she said and I giggled.
"He won't hurt me and he's not--" before I could complete my sentence, a handkerchief was pressed on my nose.
My ice cream and phone fell from my arms as I trashed around and tried to pry the hold off me.
I heard my name being called by Kat from the phone but I couldn't answer. I saw that the hold became stronger so I relaxed and tried to breathe deeply, to prevent myself from fainting but I was so naive to not know that I was being drugged. And just like that, I was dragged into a deep slumber!!!
