Laura POV

I stared at him shocked and at the same time happy. I can't believe, this isn't real. Someone please wake me up.

"Laura, I really really like you and you see I.... "

"Just shut up already, I'll be your girlfriend," I blurted, smiling like a sheep. His eyes showed his reaction, shock. I can't blame him though.

"You just....." He breathed, "Really?" he asked dumbfounded and I laughed. Because of the way words flew out from his mouth.

"Thank you," he smiled. "I mean thanks babe," he grinned and I chuckled shyly while I blushed.

"I am not a baby," I stated and he shrugged, "You're right, you are my baby," he said and I huffed.

"I am not any one's baby," I frowned. These days, they call me baby too much. It's mostly Nelly and am tired of it buti love it when Gabriel calls me that, but it's better he doesn't find out.

"Aww, my baby is so cute when she is mad," Gabriel said and I rolled my eyes, covering my blush.

"Now that we are officially dating, how about you give me a kiss," He wriggled his eye brow and I laughed.

"I so love you," I said and he grinned wider.

"We better start the project now. I don't want to get a F," I said, seriously and he chuckled, "Okay babe," he said and I smiled but immediately slapped myself mentally. I shouldn't fall for his sweet talk now, we are busy now.

"Laura, I need help. It's an emergency!" Came Anne's voice as she barged into my room in a haste.

"And what is it that made you barge in," I said almost sarcastically and she bowed her head a little.

"Sorry about that," she smiled oddly. "I am just happy that you are back, because I need you really need you," She paced back and forth, "You see my mother, the queen is coming today or tomorrow and I....." She trailed off immediately her eyes met Gabriel's.

"Um, this is Gabriel. Gabriel meet Anne, Princess Anne," I smiled.

"Did you just say Princess?" he asked shocked as he took her hand in a handshake and she nodded. "Princess Anne Of England," I chuckled.

"Just call me Anne" she said, "Nice to meet you but why are you here?" She asked.

"He's my project partner...." I said, "And her boyfriend," He quickly chirped in and I blushed due to the look Anne gave me.

"I didn't know," Anne hummed, smiling at me.

"He's cute, I'm jealous," She whispered to me and I smiled. I'm sure Gabriel heard that because he was smiling like a puppy.

"I'll leave now, when you're done let me know," She said and I nodded. She twisted the door knob and walked out of my room.

"I didn't know that the princess was living here," Gabriel said dramatically and I rolled my eyes.

"She not really living here. She just came to send some time with her fiance, I think," I explained and he let's out an, "Oh."

"That explains some things. But she said that her mother is coming today right?" He asked and I nodded.

"Or tomorrow. It's gonna, be awesome I can't wait," I shrieked. "Too bad, that I am not leaving here," He pouted and I laughed.

"Don't worry I'll tell you the details" I said.

"You know, they don't treat you like a maid here," He said and I smiled, "Yeah, they don't," I replied.

"But I don't like Luke closeness to you even if he has a fiancee," he stated and I smiled. Jealous puppy!

We finished with our project in due time. Even though they were some complications, we sorted them out.

"I have to go now, it's getting dark," he said, as we both set our things in order. "I don't want you to go," I blurted out and he smiled.

"It seems like you're gonna miss me," He almost whispered and I bit my lips as I nodded.

"A moment ago you were thrilled that I was leaving and now it's the opposite," he raised his brow and I rolled my eyes.

"I wasn't thrilled. You just insinuated that." I stated with my arms crossed. "Because that is the truth," he pointed out. "You know, you have changed," he said seriously.

"Changed how?" I asked.

"Well, you speak odd. More matured and you sound a bit British too," he stated and I jumped happily.

"Really do I sound British to you?" I asked happily.

I have learned a little from Anne but I didn't know that it would work this fast.

He smirked oddly at me and I thought again. He knows how I love to speak British and will practically kill for it, it did seem that he was pulling my legs.

Before I could fathom what would happen next, he busted into an annoying laughter. Why are boys like this, always a tease.

"Okay, time's up. You can leave." I said as I hurried him towards the door and he frowned.

"Come on, it was a joke. At lease give me a kiss before I go," he said and I quickly kissed him on the cheek.

"you know what I mean" he smirked and I blushed. I slowly leaned forward and gave him a light peck on his lips but he quickly deepened the kiss.

I can't believe this is my first kiss with Gabriel, as his girlfriend. He pulled away and grabbed his bag.

"See you later, Senorita!" he said and walked away leaving me overwhelmed. I regain myself in a few minutes and ran after him immediately I remembered that he doesn't know how to get back and am the one that brought him here so I am responsible. Luckily, I met up to him.

"Done with the project?" Luke asked immediately we stepped down the last step and I nodded. I don't want to make Gabriel angry or jealous.

"Is Katherine back?" I asked and he sighed, "Not really, I am worried."

"Me too. It's getting dark already," I said. "Yeah, I really have to go" Gabriel said.

"Why don't you stay for dinner. Fred can take you back to the orphanage," came Mr Howard's deep voice and I flinched. If I was on the stairs, I could have rolled down.

"Thank you Mr Howard but I.... "

"I insist. You both have been doing your project for long now and you need food," he said and I smiled. He's so nice and humble.

"Thank goodness. I've been waiting for you and I was getting tired," Anne said as she launched herself on me.

"Skip dinner, my mom's coming today and I need you. We'll all eat together when she comes anyway," she said.

"Actually your mom is coming tomorrow. She told me in our last call, a few minutes ago," Mr Howard said.

"Oh, what time exactly?" she asked. "She didn't mention," he said.

"That's odd. Mom always like things to be prepared before her arrival," she stated and Mr Howard shrugged.

"Maybe she want it to be a surprise " he said and Anne giggled.

"I doubt that. How is it a surprise when she already informed me that she's coming," she stated. "At least we are free to eat what we want today."

"Oh hey Gabriel," she said and Gabriel smiled. "I didn't know that knew him," Luke said surprised.

"Why wouldn't I? Isn't he Laura's boyfriend slash project partner?" she asked but it sounded like a statement.

"Did you just say her boyfriend?" Luke asked amused as he sent me a look and I hid my flushed cheeks.

"Yeah," she shrugged and the room was filled with the humming that came from Luke.

The place was now oddly quiet and I didn't like it. "Um, Anne can I take a photo of us together? I'm gonna tell my friends that I met you and I'm sure they'll not believe me," Gabriel said breaking the awkward silence.

He's so sweet!

"Sure, just come closer," she smiled and they took some few steps closer before they snapped some shots.

Sandra appeared a few minutes later and we all settled down to eat.

After a few minutes of silence, Gabriel stood up and said, "I really have to go now, it's really late. Miss Malika is gonna scream blue murder if it gets more darker " he took his bag.

"Let me see you off," I said and Luke sent me a look. He has been doing this for some time now.

I led him outside the house and we said our goodbyes before he hopped into the car and Fred drove off.

Immediately they drove out, Katherine arrived in her car and I happily jumped. I was really worried about her. She parked her car a bit carelessly and slowly got down.

She looked a bit drunk, I think. Her face showed that she was crying, her makeup was ruined. That was the least thing i was worried about, I was worried about her.

"What happened to you?" I asked her, getting closer to her. She looked so tattered and sober. She snugged me and slapped my hands off her as she walked into the house and I followed her.

"Katherine wait," I yelled as we walked in making everyone turned to us.

"Christ! Kat, what happened?" Luke asked but she just started crying and ran upstairs while Luke yelled her name.

"What did you do to my sister!" Luke yelled at me. He is nice but when it comes go his family getting hurt, he came be very dangerous.

"I didn't do anything. She drove in and came down a bit drunk and sober. I don't know what happened. I asked her but she just snubbed me," I explained.

"She drove a car when she is drunk. How did she even get drunk?" Sandra asked.

"She told me that she was going on a date with her boyfriend and she was thrilled about it. Now she came back home crying," Anne pointed out.

"I told her specifically not to date that guy. What has he done to baby girl," Mr Howard yelled as he paced back and forth. I could feel the worry in his voice.

"I'm gonna kill him," Luke said between his teeth.

"I think we should give her so--" my statement was suddenly cut short by the sound of a broken glass shattering. We all ran towards her room, shouting her name.

We can't risk something happening to her.

"The damn door is locked," Luke yelled.

"Let me try," Sandra said as she walked to the door. She twisted the knob but it didn't budge.

"Move!" Luke said. His voice sounded shaky. She moved swiftly and he kick the door but his kick did nothing to it.

"Why is everything in this house so strong," he yelled. We couldn't think straight, we were all trembling.

Mr Howard walled to the door and brought out a lot of keys. Trying all of them, it took time but the door swung open at last.

My legs trembled and we all shook in terror of what was before our eyes.

"Call an ambulance," Luke yelled and Mr Howard took out his phone with shaking hands and called the ambulance.

"A won't get here fast, we have to take her to the hospital!" Mr Howard yelled as they made their way to carried her.

She was laying in her own pool of blood that poured from her....everywhere. She looked lifeless and cold.

"Katherine what did you do," I sniffed, my nose and mouth covered by my hands. Please don't die.
