Chapter 32: Chapter 32
Russell POV.
I got home and saw Yvonne waiting for me at my apartment with a sad expression. I put my things down and she saw me and started crying. "You are late. Why did you leave with Natasha? Why did you not call me, not even once, don't you know I missed you."
I looked at her and could not suppress my laugh anymore, Yvonne was a real drama queen. "I know," I said with a smile and embraced her. "I also missed you." I refrained and looked at her wet eyes. "Why are you being a crybaby, I am here now." I wipe her tears away with the tip of my fingers.
She embraces me again. "Don't go anywhere without telling me please." She said in a soft voice and I pat her back gently.
"Alright, I won't." I had gone away because the trip was so sudden and my phone had been put away by Natasha, there was no other way to call Yvonne anyways. "Come and have a seat, I got something for you."
I led her to a seat and she looked at me curiously. "What is it?" I handed her the box and told her to see for herself. She opened it and a smile curled up on her lips. "You got me a pair of shoes."
"Do you like it?" I asked and she nodded.
She tried it on and matched the stone ground then she looked at me with a glint in her eyes. "I love it, it looks so good on me." I knew she would love it, Yvonne loved shoes and I knew this was the only way to make her happy." How did you know my size?" She looked up at me curiously.
"Natasha Wilbur helped me," I told her while I unpack my luggage, the smile on Yvonne's face suddenly disappeared and she took the shoes off.
"Who is this Natasha Wilbur!" She said in an angry voice as she threw the shoe away. "I want to see her." I stopped what I was doing and looked at Yvonne as I shook my head.
"You will meet her someday." I turn to continue what I was doing, Yvonne will always get over her angry mood when she is satisfied and tired of being angry.
"Tell me, have you gotten the emotions to sing?" She asked me as she came over to my front." I remember telling Yvonne that Natasha wouldn't do the music with me since I had no emotions in the song and I was sure that she had learnt that I went on a trip with Natasha from my father.
"Well, I am still learning," I said nonchalantly.
I looked up at Yvonne and I saw a smile on her face and I lifted my brow, waiting for her to say what she had to say. "Let's go out on a date, you can also learn from it." She blinks.
I exhaled softly and held her hands and her smile gradually disappeared like she knew what I was about to say. "Yvonne, I can't, not now, remember what I said next time."
She hesitated before nodding. "If so, then let's do something else today since I came over.
I closed my eyes, honestly, I had all the time, but I don't feel anything for Yvonne, to me she was just a lady my father likes and we have been cooperating in music and were more like business partners, I had been trying to love her, but I still can't, not in the way she want me to.
"I have to rest today Yvonne, some other time." I got up and walked into my room and shut the door after me. Then I raised my hands and touched my chest.
When I had embraced Yvonne our heartbeat was different, I had only embraced Yvonne to find if it beats in harmony, but it was different, different from when I embraced Natasha, and it is making me so confused.
I lay on my bed and closed my eyes as I thought back to the vacation. My head has always spun when she tells me certain things like I have heard them in the past, and I felt attracted to her. I knew I shouldn't be like this, I shouldn't mistake pretending to be real feelings.
I should not love Natasha, I should not be delusional, ii can't be with her, it was time to focus and not think about falling in love with her, those are feelings I shouldn't have.
I went to the airport to welcome my best friend Dominic Darren who has been away for four years now. I saw him, a walker, out of the exit, like he owned the place as he held his luggage, wheeling it behind him. This was so like Dominic, always looking proud and acting like a boss.
I waved him over. "Dominic," I called out and I saw his face light up when he saw me. We both walked towards each other like lovers who had been separated for years and he embraced me. "How have you been?" I asked him and I regretted it afterwards.
"As you can see." He turned around to show me all the fashion wears he had put on and my eyes sting as I looked away waving him off, sure enough, he was too proud of himself.
"Well, at least you have seen another country other than Korea, how does it feel to be back after a long time to your motherland?" I ignored his show off and I saw his expression change since I didn't compliment his looks.
He took off his sunglasses and looked around, he still had the same look as before when he had left the country. "I can leave again, but I miss you so much." He turned his eyes to me and curled his lips up in a smile.
"I should say that is a lie, until today you didn't call me and your line was not connecting, I wonder what you got yourself into." I sounded pissed, but the smile on his face was communicable and I couldn't stay angry at him.
"Distance they say can never tear friendship away, we have seen each other today, haven't we." He smirked and I wish I could knock that off his face, I turned around and walked away, as if knowing he had annoyed me, he said nothing and followed behind.
We arrived at Dominic's house and he put his things away and returned with two glasses and a bottle of white wine. I was not a great drinker, but since he was offering I received it, took one sip and didn't touch it again.
"How was Canada?" I asked him as I saw his expression change, I lifted my brow, curious as to why he was not happy.
"It was wonderful, but stressful." He pinched the corner of his nose and his eyes turned serious. "Why didn't you come over and watch my dancing skills?"
Dominic was a good dancer and he was signed with an agent and was getting popular these days, but not as popular as I was, still he was good at what he did and if I had not been so occupied, I would have gone to see him live at what he did.
"I wish I was there to cheer you up, but I am glad that you are back and I got to see you, maybe you can dance to me while I watch." I pointed towards the large centre in front of me and Dominic frowned.
"How much are you willing to pay?" He asked me with a furrowed brow and I chuckled. It was really easy to make Dominic angry, but this was my payback for ignoring my question at the airport.
I was expecting some more tense words, but it didn't come, instead, he turned his focus on me and his brows relaxed. "Tell me, who is the new girl this time?"
I was a bit confused as I looked at him. "New girl?" I raised my brow slightly, waiting for him to explain what he meant. I knew in the past we had numerous girlfriends we had no feelings for, it was just for fun at that time.
"Have you suddenly changed, or are you no longer a playboy?" I counted his words, but I still don't understand what he meant so he went further to explain. "Russeli, have you forgotten? You normally date ladies for a few weeks." He counted with his fingers so that I could see.
"You have lost your mind, Dominic." I looked away from him. From what I remembered, we only did that a long time ago, but it was different now.
"It is you who have lost your mind." He pushed me gently on my arms to get my attention as he said with a smile. "Who is the lady that made you change, could it be your maid?" He raised his brow and I was more perplexed than ever.
"What maid?"
Dominic chuckled and looked at me trying to hold back his laughter. "Did you perhaps hit your head, or are you pretending not to know." He paused when he saw I wasn't laughing. "Wait a minute, are you dating that maid or did you dump her off like the rest."
I closed my eyes, pinching the space between my brows and then looked at him again since I didn't get all he was saying. "Dominic I am lost here." I looked at his face with seriousness. "The person I am with now is Yvonne, and I have known her for four years now."
"Yvonne?" Dominic's expression changed like he knew nothing about what I was saying or who I had talked about. "But, what about the maid in your father's house as at that time?"
