Chapter 33: Chapter 33

I rubbed my forehead but I still had no idea and for all I could remember there was no maid in my father's house, we have never had a maid. "What is her name?" I looked at Russelli, this may give me a clue. "What is the maid's name?"

"Are you being serious now Russeli?" Dominic said with frustration as his eyes darkened. "You never told me her name even after I asked you to, you were protective of her and even told me not to visit you at home, for me not to convert her."

I was in a daze, all Dominic was telling me I just couldn't grab any, all of them seemed blank to me, all those words made my head spin, but he continued. "You know what Russeli? If you know where she was at this moment, let me know, I will go find her."

I shook my head and exhaled softly. "You mean to say we have a maid in our mansion and I liked her?" I waited for Dominic's response.

"Liked?" I scoffed and his eyes turned curious again. "I know you were interested in her and even told me you kissed and hugged her, you told me you felt something for her for the first time in your life and it was love!"

I held my forehead wondering why all these were blank to me. "I don't remember her," I said honestly and Dominic looked worn out. "I don't remember anything about any maid, please help me, Dominic," I begged. I knew that something was missing, all these while I felt I had been going to the past and coming back, but still, it all felt useless.

Dominic looked at me intensely. "You are not joking right now?" I nod. "You mean to say you don't remember that girl?" He was horrified when I said yes. I wonder why I could remember everything but not anything about a maid.

"Did you perhaps have a memory loss?" Russeli curled his lips up and his brow creased. "The last time we spoke, you told me you were going to flee with her."

"Flee!" I looked at Dominic sharply as my eyes dilated.

I went home after hearing everything Dominic had to say. I checked the building for any records of a maid, but all my search was in vain. Everything seems to be wiped off and there was nothing here.

I ran my hands through my hair, why had my father not told me about anything? Why can't I find any records of a maid? Was Dominic lying to me?"

All these questions run through my head, but I knew Dominic never lies to me and the expression on his face was serious and he meant what he was telling me. There was only one thing that could be the truth since my father told me nothing about it. It could destroy anything that has to do or link me to that maid.

Dominic has said something about me planning to flee with her, if my father found out, then he surely didn't stand still, since I was still here and the maid was gone, there must be something missing, a piece missing.

I went into my father's study room, there were records he put down of every worker that had been employed by him, perhaps I could see the name of the maid and find out more. I searched to no avail, no records of a maid.

I knew if I had to get anything I had to do it fast since my father will be back anytime soon and if he had kept this away from me then he wouldn't want me ransacking this place in search of that.

My eyes scanned through the room, I have checked the shelves and his drawers but have found nothing. I laid eyes on his safe and made my way towards it, but it was locked. I entered many passwords that I thought should be it, but it wasn't.

I was about to try the next password when I heard the main entrance door open, that must be my father so I sneaked out of his study room and met him close to the stairs. "Welcome, dad." I joined him in the living room as he sat down, putting his briefcase on the table. "How was the office today?"

He leaned back to the chair and made a little snorting sound before speaking. "Stressful as always, maybe you should start joining me to sign some documents in the office." He said jokingly and made a little hiss.

"If you want that." I played along and he chuckled, I was still indifferent staring at him, waiting for a perfect time to ask the questions that were bothering me at this moment.

"You know I am not yet ready to make you my successor." He rubs his forehead. I was not yet ready to be made his successor either, I only love composing music and living freely, travelling to wherever I want to then sitting in the office and signing different documents and stressing my head in projects and budgets.

I was no longer patient so I rubbed my sweaty hand on my lap before I spoke. "Dad, I have a question to ask." He turned his eyes to me and loosen his tie and sat upon the chair. "Dad, did we perhaps have a maid in this mansion four years ago?"

I watched his face closely and I saw his brow knitted and his eyes flared as his face darkened and it was obvious that he was taken aback by my question. "Who told you that?" He asked without hesitation."

Through my father's reaction, I realize that Dominic was right, and wouldn't have to out him. "I just keep having this dizziness and flashbacks of a maid in this mansion..."

"That must be mere imagination." He cut me off in a hurry and his eyes turned cold. "We have no such thing as a maid, whereas all technology to do things is provided, we don't need a maid and have never had one."

It was obvious that he was going to keep on denying it. If he had kept it from me for years now, why would he want to tell me about it ? I nod slowly and force a smile. "Sure, we never had one." I looked away from his face."

"Yes, we didn't." He picked up his briefcase. "I am going to rest now, do not let these things affect you okay, and you should rest too." He got up and walked up the stairs.

My face darkened and I clenched the armchair, something had happened four years ago, it has happened to me and possible that maid too, my father was lying and Dominic was right, I was going to find it all out, I am going to find the missing piece and the way about of that maid.
