Chapter 89: Chapter 89

Third POV.

They all turned their heads but there was a frown on Marcus face as he looked at the man.

“Young girl. You called us here so that we can help you but you know you're accused of working with rogues silently? Is this the attitude that you should be displaying?” The man asked angrily, making his fellow hold their breaths.

“Watch what you are saying and mind your tone,” Aiden said coldly as he glared at the man.

“Your majesty. It isn’t that I want to sound disrespectful but it seems your partner does not value this alliance that you wanted so badly,” the man said calmly. At a closer look, Elana saw mockery in his eyes, making her become so angry.

“Yes I do. If I may be asked, I would like to leave,” Elana said coldly as she stood because she felt that they were just wasting their time.

Aiden frowned since he knew that Elana wanted this cooperation to work more than he did but he couldn’t understand why she was behaving the way she was or why she said what she said about the rogues previously.

He tapped his fingers at the table making it sound like he was playing musical instruments. All eyes turned to him and Elana halted and lowered her head and looked at what he was doing.

Aiden sized up the two men who had spoken previously as he tried to see through their facade but it was impossible as the men were experts in hiding their thoughts.

His eyes dimmed as a frown formed on his face after he tried to contact the warriors waiting for them but he was once more unsuccessful.

“Your majesty, I highly respect you but I am so disappointed in you since it seems that you can be controlled by a woman,” the first man said luckily as his eyes shone brightly.

Marcus' eyes turned coldly as he released a killing aura. Aiden wiped off the frown and became serious as he shot daggers to the man. Elana, who had been standing clenched his hands into a fist as she prepared herself to attack anyone who would speak up against her.

“I am also disappointed in you that you can argue with a woman as if you are a child, Alpha. She is my sister-in-law so you better watch you say before I get rid of you,” Aiden said calmly yet threateningly. Around him there was a cold and fighting aura which made the alpha shiver in fear as he shut his mouth immediately.

He looked at his friend and wondered why he was speaking.

“What do you want?” Marcus asked coldly as his gaze pierced at the first man who had spoken.

Shivering out of fear the man shook his head immediately as he was afraid that he might be killed.

“Why are you asking him? Let me tell you something. You guys need us more than we need you. You are at our mercies not yours. Without us and our packs, you will be crushed in a second by the enemy,” the second man said coldly after he averted his gaze from Aiden and regained his confidence.

“Thats where you are wrong. We just wanted your packs so that when they will be an ambush, we can use your warriors as our shield. Thus, your warriors will die in the battlefield while ours will be free from pain and death,” Elana said slowly as she emphasised ‘shield’, ‘die’ and ‘pain and death’.

Her calm yet arrogant words made the man grit his teeth as he glared at Elana coldly. Elana was not afraid when she met his glare. She just chuckled as she walked towards the man.

“Do you think we haven’t known that you are working with the rogues? That they have attacked the kingdom and also some are waiting for us to go outside so that they can ambush us?” Elana asked, making the other party look at her in fear while her group were shocked.

“As I said, if you don't work with us you can leave but do not, do not slander us without evidence,” The second man said coldly.

Aiden frowned and looked at Elana with questioning eyes.

“What she said is true,” Marcus said calmly as he nodded his head to Aiden who had shifted his gaze to him while he saw that Elana did not intend to tell him anything.

The second man chuckled before asking, “do you think we will just believe you just cause you said that? Also, how can you claim that the kingdom is attacked when you aren’t there?”

Elana shook her head as she thought that the man was so stupid to be an alpha.

“You are so stupid. Don’t we have our wolves and can mindlink our people through our minds despite where we are?” Elana said making the man dumbfounded but after some time, his eyes shone brightly after thinking about something.

“Well, I would have believed you if I didn’t know that this room has been blocked, thus no one can communicate to those who are outside,” the man said with a smile while both Marcus and Elana chuckle at his stupidity.

“Fool. Tell why you blocked us from communicating with people outside. It seems you are indeed not as innocent as we think. Aiden, don’t you see that there is something fishy going on? Do you know believe us?” Elana said as she turned her attention to Aiden who was still processing what was happening.

“You! How can you still communicate with them?” the second man asked in panic after knowing that they had been discovered.

They ignored him and started looking at them as both Eric and Matteo guarded them against the weird alphas.

“How are we going to leave here so that we can go to the kingdom as soon as possible? I can’t forgive myself if anything happens to them,” Aiden said, panicking as he ran his hand in his hair.

“I have a way to leave here,” Marcus said after some time as he stood up and walked towards the enemies.
