Chapter 83: Chapter 83
Third POV.
A week had passed since what had happened on the field. Madeline was not released and granted her freedom because they knew that doing that would only favour the enemies. Even though Josiah had taken Madeline’s and her father’s memories, they still know every corner of the kingdom thus it would be easy for the enemy to ambush or even kidnap anyone.
In the family, Aiden’s family and Leila’s family were having breakfast in silence. The family of three were already used to the kingdom’s life even though they had been so busy.
“Leila, are you still going to the elders' place to learn today?” Aurora asked as she looked at her best friend.
Leila lifted her head and looked at her before saying, “I am just tired today. If I can be given an off today then I will be so happy.”
Upon hearing her words, they all chuckled but they knew that what she had said was the truth.
They had been trying with the elders for a week without having any rest apart from eating time and sleeping for four hours. Although they could sleep longer and practise a little, they wanted to know everything and get ready for the battle. Also, since the moment they were taught how to ambush and control minds, they felt that there were a lot of things to know and much more interesting than what they had been taught thus they were very curious about everything.
“Haven’t you guys learned everything?” the old king asked in confusion as he thought that since they were eating while relaxing today, that meant that now knew everything.
Leila shook her head then sighed.
“There is a lot to learn about. Even though we have been taught most of the important skills, we haven’t practice enough physically. What I mean is, we do know how to use the gifts against the enemies but Leila is relatively weak when fighting without giving Amaya control,” Elana said, making everyone turn to Leila but Leila just glared at her sister.
“How can you say that I am weak when the last time we were ambushed I fought three men together and I didn’t get wounded like you?” Leila retorted, making Elana nod her head in agreement.
“Girl, there is no need to be offended by what she said because it is true,” Marcus said, making Leila glare at him with her eyes full of hatred.
“Hei stop looking at me in that look. It’s creepy but we are serious here. What she meant is you are relatively weak but not weak weak. If you fought werewolves, you will emerge victorious since you are one of the strongest werewolves warriors in our land but when fighting the lycans, you are just average. Yes, you can defeat the low ranking warriors but always defeated by the strong lycans,” Marcus explained, making Leila divert her eyes cause she knew what he said was true.
“I can always get Amaya to fight on my place,” she answered, making everyone shook their heads in disagreement.
“Don’t you remember what we were told? That we can use our gifts to fight the enemies if we are the ones in control?” Elana asked.
With a sigh, Leila said, “Fine. I will do my best to become one of the strongest warriors in the kingdom.”
They nodded their heads in satisfaction.
“Okay. I will arrange for Doris to teach you how to fight. She will teach you the tactics we use when fighting,” Aiden said, making Leila look at him with questioning eyes.
“Why can’t you be the one who will be teaching me?” Leila asked in disappointment.
“I wish I could but I will be going out of the kingdom for a certain meeting today. Eric and Matteo will be joining me thus the only people left around you and my family is Jordan and his mate,” Aiden explained, making Leila feel bad since this will be the first time they won’t be together after starting to live in the kingdom.
“Brother, you have forgotten that we have Elana and Marcus with us too,” Aurora said, making the people mentioned shake their heads in disagreement.
“Actually, we will be going too. We will be representing our pack as their betas and also the strongest warriors among the werewolves,” Elana explained.
Turning to her sister, Leila frowned as she had always expected that her sister would inform her everything but she hasn’t been doing that since they arrived there.
“When were you planning to tell me?” Leila asked angrily, making her family sigh as Elana looked at her with regret.
“I really wanted to tell you but we were always busy. Everytime I said that I will tell you after we are done, you would seem to be so tired and I didn’t want to disturb your peace and rest,” Elana explained with a guilty look.
“Okay then. You guys should finish up your breakfast quickly so that you can leave,” Leila said with a smile on her face but her family and mate knew that everything was not okay.
Aiden held her hand and gave it a little squeeze making Leila look at him.
“Don’t worry. We will be back before you even know it,” he said, making both Elana and Marcus nod their heads.
They looked at Aiden and were amazed by how he had gotten to know Leila inside out in such a small time.
Aurora looked at her brother and her in-laws and frowned.
“Brother, why don’t you guys postpone it and go tomorrow?” Aurora asked, making all eyes turn to her.
“That isn’t possible because there are some people who have already arrived and they are waiting for us. Also, since they travelled far, they will be going back tomorrow,” Aiden said as he shook his head but Aurora frowned as she felt something wasn’t right.
“What is it, child?” the old King asked upon seeing the anxiety in Aurora’s eyes and a frown on her face.
“Dad, I am just anxious. I feel that something bad is bound to happen when they leave.”
