Chapter 76: Chapter 76

Third POV.

They looked at the girls strangely before the man who had said that there was a Moon Goddess smell walked towards them.

After some minutes of walking around them as he sniffed the smell on them he walked back to his chair while everyone else was looking at him.

“She is right. The smell is on the girls. If I am not wrong, they were with her half an hour ago,” the man said as he nodded his head while Tabby was giving the others smirks.

“Why are you kids here?” an older woman than Tabby asked as she stared at Leila and her group.

“My sister and I fought in the fields in front of people without thinking of the consequences,” Elana said as she looked at the woman.

“You are special of course just like your parents but I don’t think there is a problem in having a match outside,” another said, making Elana feel as if she should roll her eyes but prevent herself from doing so.

She gave Elaine control, making her eyes turn pitch black and also fly up in the air and stayed there for a minute before descending down and giving Elana control.

The elders were shocked upon witnessing that and they didn’t know what to say. They were clearly afraid of her but they couldn’t say it loudly but just showed it.

“Our darkness was in control thus why it was dangerous for us to fight outside. Not only that, I fought with Madeline when my darkness was in control. The girl is supposed to be banished from the kingdom as per the council orders,” Leila said, breaking the silence.

“We are afraid that when she is banished, she will tell the rogues about what she saw. It won’t be a problem if it was only Leila as the rogues already know about her and are always after her but they think that I have no powers. If they find out…”

“Things will be pretty bad for us all,” the old woman interrupted Elana and ended the sentence for her.

“Yes. We don’t know how to use our powers and that’s why we are here. We are here so that you can all teach us how to use our powers. Although we have darkness in us, we are able to control them and we understand each other as we are one,” Leila said, making the elders look at her as they wondered whether she knew what she was talking about or not.

“Young girl. Do you know what you are saying? That’s the darkness we are talking about. No, you are the goddess of destruction. Do you think we will help you to control your powers so that your darkness can hurt us in future?” the old man who had the gift of scent asked.

“I know you all doubt me or even worse, none of you trust me but you have to give us the benefit of the doubt. Do you think that if my darkness and I weren’t close and she didn’t understand what destruction can cause, could have let the chance of causing great destruction when I gave her control go? I am weak and I could have lost if I fought with Madeline thus I had to give my darkness, Amaya, control so that she can fight her. After winning the match, did she kill the girl? NO. Did she cause destruction as it is one thing she knows doing best? NO. Instead, she went and started provoking Elana. She had the urge to fight but did not attack anyone. She went to fight with the person who she knew was like her and would help her in increasing her strength,” Leila told them, making them keep quiet.

“What she said is it. One reason why we came into agreement with our darkness is that they also understand that we have a great battle ahead of us. Why should they waste their strength fighting and causing destruction when they can practise, make themselves stronger and wait for the day when there will be great war so that they can cause destruction,” Elana explained but still no one of the elderly spoke making the sisters sigh as they wondered what else they could say that could change their attitudes.

“Young girls, we understand that you have tried negotiating with your darknesses but you have to understand that we can’t risk anything. Who knows whether they are trying to earn your trust as they plan how to carry the destruction? As long as they are inside you and they are active and not asleep, they will always have the urge to cause destruction. To hear the people’s cries, seeing the blood and seeing everything crumbling,” the old man said seriously while looking at them.

“When one has darkness in them, they can never do anything good. Even though they try doing it, it will later be destroyed as the darkness never loves to see anything good. They are always happy when they see the destruction caused by them,” another chimed in making Leila grit her teeth.

“How do you know that? Didn’t you all get your gifts so that you could help my parents in fighting the great battle? My mom also had darkness in her just like us but then why did you help her yet you refuse to help us? Why do you believe that our darknesses are meant to cause great disaster when my mom did a lot of good things for the kingdom and werewolves without getting rid of her darkness?” Leila asked, silencing them since how could they tell them the truth?

“As she said, you can give us the benefit of doubts. Also, she is your future queen, do you think she wants to hurt her own people? If the king, his family and the council trusts us unconditionally, then why can’t you all try and do the same?” Elana asked as she was starting to get frustrated.

“Grandmother is the one who told us to come here. She said that you will help us but I guess she was mistaken,” Leila said, shocking them and making them tremble in fear.

“Sorry my queen. Please tell us what you want to learn.”
