Chapter 73: Chapter 73
Third POV.
The girls knew that if they kept complaining and changing their grandmother’s decision, whatever would happen will be worse than before.
Elana looked at Josiah angrily and felt as if she could slap him.
“If I didn’t know any better, I would have thought that you were her grandchild and not us,”Elana said, making the moon goddess chuckle.
“Stop being petty and jealous. He can never have whatever you guys have,” she said as she consoled her grandchild.
“Yes, he is just a loser and a good liar. How can you bring someone like him to be our protector? He isn’t even good at making excuses, Simon is far better than him,” Leila chimed in making Elana nod her head in agreement.
“I think that you should go for some classes from that old fellow so that you can always come with reasonable lies, not excuses full of loopholes that even a deaf person can find fault at it,” Elana added.
The moon goddess looked at the two of them trying to make things difficult for Josiah without knowing that he is far way better than them. He can’t get angry and start fighting with them just because of their stupid words.
“Okay that’s enough. Goodbye girls,” she said as she patted their heads so that they can let go of her arms but the two pretended not to hear her and continued glaring at Josiah.
To them, if he had not tried to behave like the master in front of them, they wouldn’t have been given such a terrific punishment, thus they hated him to the core.
“The next time, I will fight you,” Elaine said as she took a little control before returning it to Elana.
“Maybe to death,” Amaya said with a chuckle.
Their grandmother knew that there was no way there will stop holding their grudge against him or make things worse for him just because she told them to stop. Whatever happened last time because of her defending Josiah was still fresh on their mind.
“Josiah, you should know your place. You are here to be their protector, maybe I should even say that you are born because of them thus you should stop behaving like their master and commanding them. They are the ones who should command you, not the other way round. Keep your anger in check and follow whatever they tell you to. Even if they command you to kiss their feet, you should. You do know the consequences of not following commands, don’t you?” The moon Goddess opted to tell Josiah so as to avoid a quarrel between her and the kids and between Josiah and the kids.
“Yes my Lord,” he said as he bowed his head, satisfying the moon goddess. After all, with god doesn’t like to be worship and bowed down to?
Both Leila and Elana were pleased by how their grandmother commanded Josiah. Now, they felt that they had a servant dog with them who they could command. They smiled mischievously as they imagined how difficult Josiah’s life will be after the Moon Goddess left.
“Mmh, don’t think that I don’t know what both of you are thinking. You guys never shut your minds before gods. That’s one of the reasons I gave you the punishment so that you can learn how to conceal your emotions and everything that is running on your mind. It is never a good thing to give your enemy a chance to know you and attack,” she said as she stared at them one at a time.
“Grandma, don’t worry we are filial enough and we will do what you expect us to do. We won’t let you down,” Elana said, making Leila nod her head hurriedly as she agreed with her.
“I know you will since I can see what both of you are thinking,” the Moon Goddess said, making the two glare at her.
“Okay, I’ll stop but both of you don’t think of making things hard for Josiah,” she said and they looked at her as if she had hit her head on the wall.
After she let out a sigh, she said,” I know that both of you are happy knowing that he is under your command, thus you will try taking advantage of the situation without giving the old man time to get rest.”
“Why should he relax? Isn’t his work serving his masters? Thus, if I don’t want him to sleep and command him not to, he should not be disobedient. He should do as I instructed,” Elana said with a cheeky smile on her face.
“Well, sorry for you girl but you won’t do that cause Madeline has some information about the two of you thus he has to continue starting down there in the dungeons to look after her so that she cannot do anything silly,” the Moon Goddess told them making them groan then glare at Josiah.
“But every time we need him, he should come. After all, he is at our mercies,” Leila said without any intention of giving up.
“Enough both of you. Can you please let go of my hand? I want to leave before your grandfather becomes angry,” she said, making the two remove their hands as they chuckle as they knew how their grandfather could be after not finding his wife.
“Then go,” they said as they gave her a little push on her back.
After some minutes, that light vanished and the others let out the air they had been holding.
Hearing the sound of breathing out, both Leila and Elana looked at the others as if they were crazy and cowards.
“Take him back to where he belongs,” Leila said after some time as she looked at Josiah.
Aiden nodded his head and talked to Jordan through the mindlink. Some few minutes later, Josiah was taken back but not after bowing down to the king, Elana and Leila. He knew that he had to please the two women if he wanted to have a little smooth life. Even though he did not want to give in to them, he knew that the punishment would be severe since the moon goddess had said so herself. She was more brutal than his master.
“Let’s go and find the old woman now since we do not have the time to waste.”
