Chapter 69: Chapter 69
Third POV.
Josiah looked at Aiden and saw his anxiousness, making him frown.
“Are they still fighting?” Josiah asked with a frown as he walked towards him and got out of the cell.
“Why are you going? Josiah? You can’t leave me here!” Madeline shouted as she banged the cell door.
Josiah turned around and looked at her.
“I told you that I will be out so soon but you, I don’t know where you will or whether you can really go out of this kingdom and have your freedom,” Josiah said, making Madeline angry.
“You! I thought you were my friend?” Madeline asked anxiously.
“Well, I am. Hadn’t you also left for a while?” Jason asked as he controlled his anger.
“Josiah, I came here to get you for a reason not to listen to both of you talking. Let’s go,” Aiden said, full of anger.
“Aiden, how can you talk in that manner when you claim you need his help? Even though you are the king, you need to respect people,” Madeline said as she tried to sound calm so as not to make him more angry.
“You shut up! It is because of you that what is happening is happening because of you. You better not remind me if you don’t want to be kicked out of this kingdom right now,” Aiden said angrily as he pointed at her wishing that he could just beat her up.
“Aiden calm down. We will be going in a few but I don’t think Madeline should leave the kingdom now. She knows more than she should thus it is dangerous,” Josiah said, making Aiden look at him with questioning eyes.
“What do you mean?” Aiden asked as he was curious.
“She knows about Leila and Elana. Although she doesn’t know about what's happening. She saw when Elana and Leila were fighting on air and said that Leila’s eyes were pitch black when fighting her. She is going around talking about it and it is dangerous as we know. We can’t let them know about Elana if she really is…” Josiah said, making Aiden nod his head in understanding.
Madeline looked at them in confusion as she couldn’t understand why it was a risk and danger knowing about Leila’s power but after sometime she had some ideas as she knew what dangers it carried one had powers.
“You can’t leave me here,” she shouted as she saw them walking further from her cell.
“Just keep quiet. Anyways, don’t worry I will come back to keep you company,” Josiah shouted, making her confused but she did not dare raise her voice after the cold look that Aiden shot her.
“Why do you keep talking to her and you know what kind of a person she is?” Aiden asked as he couldn’t tell what was on Josiah’s mind.
“That girl. She wasn’t like that before her father got the council seat. She has just been following Simon’s commands and after some time of seeing how Aurora’s life is, she started dreaming and wishing that she will one day live like her. That she will give her children that life. Although we know that when people tend to be selfish and greedy there is no turning back, I have to keep talking to her to prevent her from going crazy. Also, don’t they say keep your friend close but your enemies closer?” Josiah asked as he looked at Aiden.
Aiden nodded in agreement but he did not continue talking about it since it was his will and he didn’t have to intervene in it as long as it would not bring danger to his mate, family and the kingdom.
“You just watch out. You may never know,” Aiden just told him and Josiah nodded his head in agreement.
Although he had wished that he would not go back to the cell after solving the issue for them, from Aiden’s words, he could tell that they had decided to be kept there. At the same time, he wondered why the girls opted not to trust him, the council and even the king trusted him.
He knew that his identity was one of the things making them indifference since he knew their identity but they didn’t know his. He wondered whether telling them who he really is might help out as he needed to do the work instructed by his master.
When they arrived at the scene, they found Elana and Leila still fighting but they were fighting the godly fights making him frown as he looked around.
“Why are they fighting outside? What if there is a rogue nearby keeping an eye on the kingdom?” Josiah asked in a pleasing tone.
“Both Madeline and Leila were fighting here. After it was completed, Elana walked to her sister and Amaya started provoking her as Marcus said,” Aiden.
“Idiot. He knew the dangers of Amaya fighting outside in people’s presence yet he continued to let them? Maybe the moon goddess herself should visit and teach him a lesson. Every member of this kingdom or everyone present should have their minds wiped out today’s scene to avoid us being ambushed unprepared,” Josiah said, making Aiden look at him.
“Can it be done? Can someone wipe someone’s else's mind?” Aiden asked in disbelief.
“Yes, it is possible. Arrange for it as soon as possible after we finish dealing with these two,” Josiah said, making Aiden nod his head.
Josiah walked closer to Elana and Leila and looked at both of their eyes. Even though he had guessed it, he couldn’t believe that Elana got her darkness back.
“Aren’t both of you tired of fighting?” he asked them as he held his chin.
Hearing the voice, they both turned their gazes to him before looking at their mates.
“Why is he out?”
“How can you people let a dishonest and untrustworthy person out and see us fighting?”
“Heh! So both of you know that you aren’t supposed to be fighting by people yet you opted to fight out here? Are you all crazy?” Josiah reprimanded them, making them speechless.
They looked at one another before attacking him when he wasn’t expecting it.
