Chapter 68: Chapter 68

Third POV.

"I wish I listened to you," Madeline said that as the first thing when she returned to the dungeon as she cried.

Hearing this, Josiah looked up to her and saw the injuries on her body making him sigh. Even though the girl had been so arrogant previously when she talked to him, he still felt sad for him.

"I thought you told me that you were going to fight for the queen's position? Why are you back here? Or were you defeated by a mere werewolf while you a lycan are so powerful than her?" Josiah still said as there was no way he could show her his remorse.

"Dad!" Madeline shouted angrily and her eyes had hatred emotions in them making Josiah confused as he couldn't understand where Simon was coming in all these.

"I didn't fight for the position. I don't know what happened that the elders banished both him and I from the kingdom. Instead of begging for mercy and forgiveness, he told them that if I fight with Leila and I win, they should allow us to continue staying in the kingdom even if his position will be taken. Imagine that kind of a dad. I never thought he was just a selfish and greedy man," Madeline explained, making Josiah frown.

To him, Leila was so powerful thus she was supposed to win but seeing Madeline back here, that meant that Leila was defeated.

"Then you won and that's why you are here. Aren't you supposed to be happy? Even though you are still locked up here, you will be free after some days as the law says," Josiah said, making Madeline angry and threw the plate that was in her room towards Josiah.

"Fool. I didn't win! Do you think I would be telling you I wish I listened you when you said that that bitch was strong if I defeated her?" Madeline said with a sarcastic laugh.

"Then why are you here instead of being out of the kingdom since you are banished?" Josiah asked as nothing was making sense.

"I faint after Leila punched me on the neck. I am still in pain dammit," Madeline said as she cussed making Josiah roll his eyes.

"When I woke up, I found Leila fighting with Elana," Madeline said, shocking Josiah and making him stand up.

"What did you say? Leila was fighting Elana, her sister?" Josiah asked loudly as hastily made Madeline look at him as if he had gone crazy.

"Yes. Is there a problem? Old man, you behave as if they are your kids and they aren't," Madeline said.

Josiah was anxious since he knew that he might not escape his master's punishment if the girls hurt each other as they fought. But he couldn't understand why they would fight when they are so close to each other and love one another dearly.

"Let me tell you. Leila is a demon. I have never seen such great strength all of my life. Her eyes were pitch black making me shiver when I looked into them. Every time I looked into them then I closed my eyes out of tiredness, I would see total darkness in front of me making me reopen them immediately," Madeline told Josiah about her experience.

Hearing Madeline words, Josiah understood why the two sisters were fighting. Since Leila's darkness was a crazy bitch who loves to cause trouble. At the same time, he was shocked to know that Leila had given Amaya control when fighting Madeline and did not destroy Madeline completely. With this, he admitted that Leila's words were true. What darkness needs is to be taught how to control so that they cannot lose control and destroy anything they come in contact with and around them.

"When she was fighting with her sister, Elana, did you know that they both flew up and started fighting when they were on the air? Tell me, aren't they demons? Even we lycans can't do that and also I have never seen anyone's eyes pitched with one color. I wished I listened to you. I don't want to ever face that witch ever again," Madeline continued narrating, making Josiah shake his head and look at her with sympathy.

When he heard the girl's words about fighting on air, Josiah was already on guard as he was warned by his master not to let anything happen to Elana but it seemed it did. Knowing Amaya's character, Josiah could guess that from the beginning when Amaya started Elana, she knew that Elana's darkness was still in her but was locked up and dormant. From Elana's and Marcus' behaviour, it seemed that they did not know. Now, Amaya triggered Elana into fighting with her and in the process releasing and waking Elana's darkness. Thinking of all these, Josiah just sighed in defeat.

"A lot of talking can cause you damage. That's why you are back here instead of being banned," Josiah told Madeline as he understood why she was returned back.

After all, they can't risk the rogues knowing about Elana.

Madeline looked at Josiah since she couldn’t understand what he was saying. To her, even though she had been beaten by Leila, it was a blessing for her to witness such a sight thus she believed that Josiah was just jealous of her since he had not seen anything like that. She had heard that some people are gifted gifts but she had never encountered one using them.

Seeing both Leila and Elana fighting in such a method, she knew that they were both given some gifts if not the same. Now, she remembered what Aiden had said in the banquet that his mate was special.

‘So he knew? Maybe that’s why he didn’t want me. After all, who doesn't like having such a powerful and gifted mate?’ Madeline asked herself. Something came on her mind shocking her since she had not thought of the possibilities.

“Do you think the elder’s knew about Leila’s gifts? That's why they agreed to my father’s request readily as they knew she would defeat me?” Madeline asked Josiah but all she got was an eye roll.

How could he continue telling her anything when he couldn’t risk getting the girls in danger?

After some seconds of hearing footsteps rushing to their direction.

"Josiah, come with me quickly."
