Third POV.

“Get me out of here,” Madeline shouted as she banged the doors and metallic poles on the sides.

Regardless of what she said, no one listened to her. Theu all turned a deaf ear to that and talked about her. She always pretended that she was the queen commanding everyone. But noq since the king had found his mate, she had lost all power and they opted to treat her the same way she treated them.

“Can you just shut up for ince? Do you think that they will listen to you?” a voice came from the cell adjacent to her startling her.

“Don’t talk to me old man with your smelly mouth. First of all learn how to brush your teeth before opening it to reprimand me,” Madeline yelled and a disgusted expression was seen on her face.

Hearing this, the man was not at all angry and displeased with her but he laughed wholeheartedly as if he had heard the biggest joke of the year.

“You? I have been here for a few days and I will be out soon. But what about you? You will be here today, tomorrow, the day after tommorrow and maybe a month or lifetime,” the man said as he laughed.

“Shut up! Shut up! You are lying to me. My father is so powerful when he notices that I am gone, he will surely ask Aiden to release me and I will leave you here alone to die in here since you are so old and I am sure you are about to do it,” Madeline said arrogantly, making the man’s smile and laugh disappear.

“Kid, you really got some nerve to cuss at me. Make sure that your words don’t bite you back. Even though I am old, I can live for another fifty years but you…” the man said then kept quiet because he didn’t see the need to talk to such a person.

“I won’t dare. When I get out of here I will tell my dad that I want your head. You will die after I get out of this place. Watch and see,” Madeline said as she hid her panic but her words made the man smile involuntarily.

Above all, who wanted to die so young? Madeline was so afraid of his words that she wished to kill the man immediately just to prove him wrong.

“Your father? Simon? Do you think that he really has the position to kill me? He is the person with the lowest rank in the council!” the man said

Hearing the man’s words, Madeline was so shocked since no one except from the elders and their family knew her father’s position. Hearing from a man who was locked up down here, Madeline felt a cold shiver in her spine. She started wondering whether what the man had said above her being locked up here for enternity was true.

“Who … who are you<” she couldn’t help but ask.

“Me? Do you think you are worthy to know my name?” the man asked in disgust.

“Mh! I don’t need to know your name since you refused to tell me. When I get out of here I will ask my father,” she said with a smug on her face.

The man shook his head as he wondered whether the girl in front of him did have brains or not.

“Your father doesn't know my name. Young girl, you better stop making me angry cause if you continue to annoy me then when I get out of here I will take my position from your father making you and your family even lower than the omegas,” the man said, shocking Madeline once more.

“You. You are Josiah? But was I told that you left the kingdom and you are not coming back?” Madeline asked because she couldn’t understand anything.

“Yes. I did leave the kingdom but I came on the day there was an ambush,” the man answered.

“Does your answer mean that you plotted against your own people?” she asked angrily cause she was also injured when she was fighting on that day.

“No,” Josiah said as he shook his head.

“Then why are you locked up here?” she asked.

“Cause the people whom my master sent to protect don’t trust me. But they will after some time of cooling down. What are you doing here?” He asked.

“Isn’t that bitch? Aiden was meant to be mine but now that werewolf came to take what is mine. Not only did she do that but also poisoned my beloved mind making him lock me up here,” Madeline said without looking at Josiah but her words had made Josiah angry.

“You better stop talking ill of her if you don’t want something bad to happen to you,” Josiah warned coldly.

Although it was the sisters who had locked him here, how could he tolerate someone talking ill about any of them. To him, now that he was alone, it was a great opportunity for him to cultivate and increase his strength and power.

“You speak as if you know her. That woman is so wicked. I am sure that if she becomes the queen of this kingdom, no one will survive,” Madeline said, not taking heed of the warning.

“When I get out of here the first thing I will do is kill her then after that, I will get back my beloved Aiden and I will become the queen,” she said as she smiled when she imagined what would happen after words.

The atmosphere became chilly all of a sudden making her shiver but she did not think so much about it.

“Let me tell you. You can not kill her. Even you can’t touch a strand of her hair. If you go around looking for trouble, you will be burned by it,” Josiah said coldly with a killing intent.

“Old man. You protect that little witch and you don’t even know her. When I see how you protect her, one may think that you are her father. If it weren’t for the fact you are a lycan and she is a werewolf, I would have thought otherwise,” she said.

They felt footsteps making their way making them stop arguing with each other and pretend nothing had happened.
