Chapter 53: Chapter 53

Third POV.

“Guards, lock her up till this incident is further investigated,” Aiden said coldly.

Aurora, Elana and Marcus smirked at this since they had wanted to teach the girl a lesson. Even if it wasn’t them who were going to do it, they felt as if they had won a battle they were fighting in the battlefield. On the other hand, Leila was just looking at the scene in front of her coldly.

“What? Aiden, how can you do this to me!” Madeline asked loudly, displeasing Aiden in the process.

“Do what to you? What have I done to you?” Aiden asked calmly but his eyes were cold,

“Why are you asking the guards to take me to the dungeon?” Madeline asked, clearly afraid.

Although there had not been any presence of the guards had been called, that didn’t mean that they weren’t there.

In order to protect the king, there were guards in secret but it was still a mystery how Madeline had successfully passed through them. Thinking of this, Aiden’s calm face turned gloomy and cold as he never liked someone going against his orders.

“Because I believe what my sister said,” Aiden answered in a cold voice.

“But I didn’t do anything wrong,” Madeline asked in panic.

“Are you sure? Do you know the cost one has to pay by sneaking in the king’s floor?” A cold voice sounded behind her making her jump in fright before turning around and seeing who had cost.

“I am not just anyone! And you aren’t supposed to treat me in that manner,” Madeline complained as she pretended to be calm.

“Seems that your father hasn’t taught you discipline even after all these years! Since he failed to do so then I guess it is our responsibility to teach you since we can’t have uncultured people in our midst. After all, I am afraid that you will teach the youngsters your rude behavior and we can’t wait till that happens,” The man replied.

Hearing this, Madeline panicked and looked as if she would cry at any moment but that only made the man snort coldly before turning his gaze.

“My king,” he said as he bowed down in front of Aiden.

Aiden nods his head at him as a way to accept his greetings and respects.

“No! You can’t do this to me. Jordan, if you do you will lose your position! I will make sure of it,” Madeline said hastily, making others chuckle as they wondered whether she was really as stupid as she seemed or whether she was just pretending to be.

Jordan, the head of the warriors who was the third in command, looked at her coldly before saying, “You are more stupid than I thought! Do you think that your father can take away my title?”

Madeline nodded her head fast and said, “Yes. After all, you are just a nobody in front of our family.”

Aurora’s, Aiden’s and Jordan’s turned colder than before after hearing this.

“Well. If you think that Jordan is just a nobody before your family then you should also remember that you are nothing before my family!” Aurora said coldly, making Madeline's pleased face gloomy.

How could she let Madeline say that to Jordan who was just like a big brother to her? He was one of Aiden’s best friends and he was close to the sister also. Taking care of her, protecting and also spoiling her just like a brother should.

Madeline had always been jealous of the attention Aurora got from the most handsome and strong men in the kingdom. Why couldn’t they side with her? Why couldn’t she get their attention when she didn’t lack anything that Aurora had? Now, hearing her words, Madeline glared at her since that was the only thing she couldn’t grasp in her hands.

“Sorry to disappoint you, Madeline but your father can’t do anything to my position. I took over my position from my father. It is hereditary so you should stop with your stupid assumptions. Also, it seems that you forgot that your father doesn’t have that kind of power even in the councils. He is still below my family! If my aunt and dad can’t agree then there will be no decision made by your father that can be approved. If you continue with this nonsense, I can make sure to tell them to betitle him. His position isn’t your family and you do know that! It can be taken away from him at any moment so you better shut your mouth and move,” Jordan said.

He had always hated Madeline but since his father was one of the high-ups, he tried his best not to show his dissatisfaction with her but it seemed that the girl didn’t know what was good for her.

‘Yes, it wasn’t their family and that’s why she wanted to be the queen so that they can have that position and many more permanently!’ Madeline said inwardly.

She hated them. Why did they have to remind her that? Why couldn’t they treat her the same as they treated the daughters of the high-ups?

“Madeline, I wasn’t going to give you a severe punishment but because of your arrogance and what you just said, I am rethinking my decision. Don’t blame me for being heartless,” Aiden said coldly.

Madeline didn’t have a good feeling about what he was going to do but she was afraid of speaking up.

“You don’t have the permission to enter this place and you know that. Not only this floor but the palace. It is our home, our house not yours thus I don’t understand why you keep insisting that you haven’t done anything wrong,” Aiden said, making her face turn pale.

Looking at how she was dressing, Aiden felt disgusted and wondered why such a person thought that you could ever become a queen. Maybe it was because of….

He shook his head cause he didn’t want to think about that.

“It also seems that you had another motive since you are dressed like a …” Aiden said.

Even though he did not complete the sentence, everyone knew what he was trying to say.

“No!”
