Third POV.

Thinking about what happened on that day, Leila diverted her gaze cause she could tell what that meant. If it weren’t for the ambush, she would have been a queen now and already marked and maybe, mated already. Thinking of all this, Leila’s face turned red.

Seeing her face turning as red as a tomato, Brad chuckled.

“Hope you do believe us now. We love you. Even though it hasn’t been even a week since we found each other, we already love you. Guess that’s how the mate bond acts,” Brad said with a grin on his face.

Leila felt as if Brad was making fun of her thus she glared at him.

“If what you are saying is the truth then can you tell me why that woman was coming to your room at this hour?” Leila asked calmly but her eyes were cold.

If it were another person they would have flinced at that look but to Brad, Leila looked cute even when her eyes were cold.

“Who knows? As I said, she is a witch. I am sure that what she was plotting wasn’t good. Luckily, she had been seen by Elana and Marcus and stopped,” Brad said making Leila roll her eyes.

“Plotting? Why should she plot against you? Also, if she wanted to play games, why does she have to play dirty games at night and in your room?” Leila asked

Brad couldn’t help but wish that he could strangle that woman. After all, they were having problems because of her and she was afraid that Leila might end up thinking about other bad things about them.

“At this hour, we would have been in the study room if it weren’t for the fact that you were here and we didn’t want you to be afraid since you are in a new place,” Brad said.

“Are you trying to say that that woman thinks that you aren’t here? That you are in the study?” Leila asked curiously since she couldn’t understand what Madeline had planned to do if someone had not seen her.

“Yes. If I am not wrong, she was trying to force us to accept her as our mate and reject you,” Brad said making Leila look at him with questioning eyes.

“Well, what I am trying to say is, if someone had found her in here naked what would they have thought? What would you have thought?” Brad asked.

“That you had sex with her,” she answered making Brad nod her head agreeing with her.

“Exactly. Cause of that, she would have found a good excuse to separate us and be the queen. After all, since her father is one of the council members, I am sure that he would bring the case to the high-ups. Feeling that I need to take responsibility for my actions, they would only force me to mate with her,” Brad explained slowly so that Leila would understand what he was trying to say.

Leila’s eyes and aura turned so cold that the temperature of the room lowered.

“Guess we were lucky then?” Leila asked making Brad nod his head.

At this time, Aiden was unsatisfied with how the two were speaking. He was so jealous of Brad that he even forgot that he had just saved them and made their mate trust them unconditionally.

He struggled and took control. He could feel Brad fight for control making him snort coldly before shutting him completely making Brad wimp at the background.

“Where do we go outside and join the fun?” Aiden asked.

Hearing the different tone when he was speaking, even without looking at the man, Leila could tell that Aiden had taken control over Brad. As much as she was dissatisfied with his lack of need to explain, she couldn’t find fault in him.

“Okay,” she said as she stood up and got out of the bed.

The more they got closer to the door, the more they heard the words that were being said outside. Thinking that Madeline really didn’t have a brain to think of the consequences of her words, Aiden’s aura turned cold and domineering making it more terrifying.

He turned the lock slowly to avoid being heard and succeeded in opening the door silently.

“Why aren’t you all asleep?” Aiden asked in his deep voice as he tried his best to sound as if he had just woken up.

Hearing his voice, the four who had been arguing in the corridor stiffed before turning their gaze in the voice’s direction.

“Brother,” Aurora said as she pouted and ran to her brother’s side.

Seeing her reaction, Aiden raised his head as he waited for her to say what she wanted. How could he not see through her when he was his big brother and always looked after her?

“What is it?” he asked softly after she remained silent for a little longer than he expected.

“ This woman. Madeline sneaked into our house at night, brother. It would been okay if she was found on the ground floor but what was she doing up here? Your floor?” Aurora pretended to think after asking the questions.

“What do you think?” Aiden asked.

“Brother, I think she isn’t trustworthy. Why sneak in this floor late at night when everyone has gone to sleep? Also, everyone knows that this floor belongs to the king and not everyone can walk in. I think she was planning to steal some confidential documents about ur kingdom,” Aurora said making everyone present speechless since they did not expect her to say such a thing.

It seemed that she wanted to ruin Madeline completely!

Hearing this, Madeline was so angry that she wished to slap her but she couldn’t because of Aiden’s presence. Everyone knew how much he doted on his sister since she was a child thus she knew that hitting Aurora would make Aiden love her but instead it would make him despise her even more.

“You are lying,” she shouted angrily.

“What? she is lying? Then please tell us why you are here,” Aiden said coldly making Madeline flinch.

“Brother, I know. Since she says that I am lying does it mean that she was sneaking into our house late at night wearing like a slut to seduce you even after knowing that you have a mate?” Aurora asked in a serious tone.

Hearing this, Aiden’s eyes turned colder.
