Chapter 51: Chapter 51

Third POV.

Leila’s question had hurt Aiden so much. He had hoped that she would believe him. Have trusted in him entirely as if her life depended on that but sadly, he was mistaken. What he hoped for turned out to be his wishful thinking and a dream.

“Leila, please believe me. You will always be the only one in my heart, not her or any other woman,” he said as he looked at her deep in her eyes.

Seeing the hurt and hopeful emotions in his eyes, Leila broke eye contact and looked to the side before looking back at him.

“Why should I believe you? Huh? Give me one reason for that,” she said with no emotions.

“You should believe me 'cause you are my mate! My soulmate, you should,” he said, making Leila roll her eyes at his stupid answers.

What she had gone through had opened her eyes so how could she believe such words from a man she barely knew? What if she gets hurt again, plotted against or something happens to her loved ones?

Seeing her indifferent gaze, Aiden knew that she was displeased but his answers and he wondered what she should really say to get her attention and for her to believe him.

“You are such a stupid person! How did you even become the king?” A voice said in his head making him feel as if he could beat up the persona but he couldn’t.

“Ah, I remember now. It’s because it is right! After all, your parents were the king and queen.”

“Shut up, Brad! Don’t forget that you are me and I am you,” Aiden replied.

“Unfortunately and I am ashamed of that! Stop using your stomach or is it dick and use your brain before we lose our mate,” Brad said.

Aiden’s face was gloomy after he heard that. He had always known that his wolf was a dick but there was nothing he could not as they would both suffer. Thinking of this, his face turned better.

All this while, Leila was just staring at him waiting for his explanation. At first, she was disappointed when she did not hear anything but after seeing his eyes flashing every time, she guessed that he was talking to his wolf thus she waited patiently for them to finish.

“Are you done? I am waiting and if you don’t have any explanation then my sister, brother-in-law and I will leave this place,” Leila said coldly, succeeding in getting Aiden’s attention.

Aiden tried speaking but every time he opened his mouth to talk, he would close it after some seconds. To Leila, it seemed that he did not have an explanation after his plans were discovered thus she felt betrayed. But in reality, Aiden was afraid of messing up. He was afraid that what he would say would displease Leila once more and that he might end up losing her after just finding her.

Brad rolled at his cowardness before pushing himself to the front and starting to fight for dominance with Aiden.

“Fool! Do you want us to lose our mate? If not, you better give me control,” Brad said.

Hearing this, Aiden knew that Brad might save their ass or was it their night. After all, Brad knew how to convince people with his wolf apart from being shameless.

“I am not shameless, thus you should stop thinking negatively about me if you don’t want to lose her. Now stop fighting with me and give me dominance before she gets tired of waiting for your explanation.”

With no other choice, Aiden gave in.

Immediately Brad was going to have a chance, he just went to where Leila was and held her hands.

Seeing a different color on Aiden’s, Leila knew that his wolf had taken place. She had heard stories of how possessive the male wolves were and she was a bit afraid. What if. She had a lot of what ifs running on her mind but she opted to concentrate to avoid anything bad happening to her.

“Mate, you are so beautiful! That bastard has been so selfish with you that he didn’t allow me to talk to you.

Hearing this, both Leila and Aiden were speechless. Aiden wondered how shameless he was going to continue being instead of dealing with the problem at hand.

“Anyways, I know that you are mad at what you have heard that witch saying but dear you should be! I am sure she is trying to drive a wedge between us,” Brad said with tears in his eyes, making Aiden roll his eyes at how dramatic his wolf could be.

“I know that whatever I am saying isn’t even to gain your trust and everything but please believe us,” he said. Literally begging.

“Why should I? Why should I believe and trust you all just to get hurt in the future? Hell no!” Leila said in a whisper-yell.

“I know that you don’t have a valid reason to trust us but I will tell you,” Brad said before taking a deep breath.

“If I really wanted to let Madeline be our mate, then why didn’t we reject you as soon as we discovered that you were our chosen mate?” Brad asked as he stared at Leila so that he would not miss any emotion running in her eyes.

“Cause you wanted to sleep with me,” Leila answered, making both Brad and Aiden speechless as they wondered why she thought of them in such a manner.

Without caring about the emotions that were evident in Brad’s eyes, Leila turned her gaze from him.

“Then why would we let you in here and we have never let a woman walk in apart from Aurora?” Brad said.

“Same reason. But you knew that you might not deceive me entirely if you didn’t allow me. How would I believe you when you even show me and invite me to your room?” Leila replied.

Brad was speechless and on the edge of giving up since it was as if Leila had thought of anything they could use to make her believe her. Thinking of this, Brad couldn’t help but cuss at Aiden for always attracting that witch with his handsome appearance.

“Why would I introduce you as my mate in front of all lycans and the leaders of the werewolves if I never intended to let you be my partner, soulmate, queen and lover?”
