Chapter 46: Chapter 46

Third POV.

“We were talking about us going home. How does a miracle healer being in the kingdom help us in going home?” Marcus asked as he looked at the person who had said that sentence.

“What I am trying to say is that we have no time to wait for weeks so that you can officially come to the kingdom. That was before what happened but after everything that happened yesterday, I suggest that you all reconsider your decision,” Mike said.

“What are you trying to say since I can’t understand you?” Leila asked him.

“I mean. We don’t know when the next ambush will be or when the great battle will be. We should get prepared. There is no time to rest,” he explained.

“What he said is making sense. Also, because of the coronation, a lot of people are still in the kingdom. Even the powerful elders who have gifts. I think that both of you should take advantage of this opportunity to get close to them and request them to teach you a few things before they go back. You need to know how to use your powers as soon as possible. There is no time to rest,” Amanda said, making everyone fall silent.

Leila felt as if her head would start aching anytime soon. She had lied. The reason she wanted to go back with her sister was not because of what Aiden had said but because she knew that as long as she was in the kingdom, the members of the council would not let her have some rest. Aiden on the other hand, wasn’t sure whether he could give in to her crocodile tears and pitifulness.

She looked at her sister for help only to be given a cold shoulder.

Elana had not thought of that. All she wanted was to stay with her sister before she was completely taken by Aiden. She had to admit that she was afraid of losing Leila. She could live without Marcus but she doubted whether she could without Leila. After all, they have been inseparable since they were kids. Since she had a baby sister, she had always gone to look at her before going to bed. It had already become a habit. She was afraid that she might not get any sleep if she went back. She was selfish, she had to admit that but not loudly.

Knowing that the members of the council were just concerned about her sister’s welfare, Elana did not give them a hard time by arguing with them. She just remained silent as she looked at the white blank walls.

“Why are you all quiet? I think you should give us an answer,” Elijah said after they waited for some time.

“I am always selfish,” Elana said without looking at anyone. Marcus patted her back as a way to console her.

“I am sure that if we ask our king to make the decision when it concerns his mate, he might give in to her without even thinking of the consequences,” Lisa said as she looked at the couple seated on the bed looking at each other affectionately and holding hands.

“Guess, we have to ask the old majesty since if we decide for ourselves, we might end up being blamed or told we are just doing it for ourselves,” Matthew said as he looked at the others for consent.

Aiden saw the look on Leila and was puzzled.

“Don’t you want to stay here and practice?” he asked her.

“If it were only staying with you here, I wouldn’t mind at all but now, I am afraid Aiden. I was hoping to escape for a while and get my shit together and prepare myself mentally before starting to learn how to use my powers,” Leila told him.

“Don’t worry, love. No matter what decision you make, I will always have you back,” he said as he kissed the back of her palm.

“Okay. We can do as Matthew said,” Elijah said.

Seeing the sister’s look, the old king knew what was happening. He knew how strong a sibling bond can be. Some who depend on each other are always inseparable. Since he had already taken the role of being their father and he was pleased with the girls’ character, he knew that he had to make a decision that was best for everyone, avoiding anyone being at a disadvantage.

“Since I have been told to decide then I will say what I think is best for everyone,” he said then took a deep breath.

Everyone was so eager waiting to hear his decision to know whether they had gotten what they wanted or not.

“Elana was attacked yesterday. Even though she was killed, she should be resting. On the other hand, Leila used a lot of power yesterday and am sure she is also tired from what has been going on with Josiah and her darkness. Thus as the former king of the lycans and werewolves and also the girls’ father, I have decided,” he paused and drank some water.

They knew what he was trying to do but they did not dare question him or haste him.

“I think that Elana also needs some practice. Since the two girls have been dependent on each other for a long time and we can't separate them immediately, they should stay together for now. Both Elana and Marcus will stay here in the palace as both Elana and Leila recover. After resting for a few days, they will begin practice immediately. Thus, my son won’t lose his mate, Elana and Marcus won’t lose their sister and the most important thing, they will start working on their powers immediately so they feel better,” he concluded.

The members of the councils and Aurora let out a sigh of relief. Aiden looked at his mate with sympathy because he knew that was not what he wanted and he couldn’t do anything since his hands were tied. The family of three was shocked upon hearing the old king’s words. They had thought that he was just joking when he said that he was going to be their father. This time, they found themselves crying for a while.

“No one should tell the member who was not present anything that happened here or what you all discovered.”
