Chapter 35: Chapter 35
Third POV.
They all stopped what they were doing and looked at Marcus waiting for him to say more about what he had just said but all they got was silence.
"What the heck? If you aren't going to speak then kindly just leave," Elana said as she gestured to him at the door, making Marcus roll his eyes.
"Okay, okay. Fine, I will talk," Marcus said as she raised his hands as a surrender.
Elana walked towards the door and shut it since it was open and what they would be talking next may be regarded as private that even the council wasn't qualified to hear it.
"Gosh. Marcus, I just hope that what you are saying is true, not just a method to get our attention and for us to allow you to stay in the room with us," Leila said with a serious face since she had doubts about what Marcus said.
"You really hurt me, Leila," Marcus said as he put his hand on the left side of his chest demonstrating how much he was wounded by her words making Leila roll her eyes. She wished that she just called him a drama queen but she wondered whether there was the opposite of a drama queen.
"You have to trust me on this one girl," he said as he walked to the stool beside Leila's bed.
"Then start talking before I get tired of hearing your high pretentious voice," Elana said as she glared at her, making Leila chuckle as she shook her head.
"Babe...even you?" Marcus said as he pouted.
"Can you be serious for once in your life? Start talking now!" Elana said coldly, making Marcus gulp before nodding his head hurriedly.
"I asked about the book. Like, you know I grew up there....up there so I have some friends and everything," Marcus said making both girls nod their heads.
"So I asked whether the book was still with your grandparents and if it was lost as we all know. I was told it was lost and they suspect one of your grandparents' loyal servants," Marcus said, making them raise their eyebrows at him urging him to go on since they were curious as to why a servant was involved in all these.
"The servant was your mother's nanny. After your mother was sent here to live with the werewolves and later save them, it is said that the old woman felt as if her child had left and started blaming your grandmother for being so ruthless. Loving her creation more than she loved her own child."
"Everyone thinks that she might be the one who stole the book she ran away. You guys know that one of your ancestors knew their generation's future and wrote it down in the book for fear that there would be some mistakes in the future. What I am trying to say is that the ancestor saw it as a right thing to scribe it down so that, if one's future will be bad or have some misfortunate, the parents would change for their kid," Marcus said.
Both Leila and Elana were shocked since they never knew how that book was formed. They had even thought that what was said about the book was fake. They had to admit that they were truly the descendants of some powerful gods.
"But why steal the book?" Leila asked as she couldn't understand the main reason behind the woman's theft.
"What? Of course, it has everyone's future in it but not really everyone. Only your family, your grandmother's bloodline. You know that she was the only child of her parents thus her descendants were obviously included in that book and then passed to her after getting married to her grandfather," Marcus said.
"Yes, it has our bloodline’s future but then so what? She didn't have enough reason to steal the book from our family," Elana said.
"Guys, you are disappointing me! I thought that you could all put the puzzles together," Marcus said, making both Elana and Leila raise their eyebrows at him.
"The old woman never had kids. The servants were supposed to give all their time to their bosses. Since she never had kids and she had always been present since your mom was born, she had taken care of her to the point she saw your mom as her own daughter. Your mom being taken away from her was a big blow..."
"You already told us that. What does the book have to do with this?"
Marcus shook his head before saying, "The woman knows what the book contained. To her even though your mom had come to this place and left her behind, to her, she saw as if she had the book, she would know your mother spent her days and nights."
"In short, she is just our mom's stalker," Leila said, making the rest chuckle.
"Guess this is one of true love. No parental love but the difference is that she wasn't our mom's mother," Elana said.
"We can say that she was the adoptive mother," Leila chimed and the rest agreed with her.
"If everyone there knows where the book is then why hasn't grandma taken a move to get the book?" Elana asked.
"No, what I want to know is, how the hell do our grandparents and dad know how our future and life is if the book was stolen just after mom was sent here?" Leila asked, making everyone stay silent as they thought of that.
"You know that your grandmother knows every werewolf's and lycan's life and future, right?" Marcus asked.
"Wish she could hear you calling her that," Leila said with a laugh as she imagined what would happen.
"Yeah, she does know but weren't werewolves by birth, she just gave us a wolf to avoid others being suspicious of us," Elana said.
"Right, we are gods, not humans thus she isn't supposed to know our future if that book isn't with them in the first place," Leila said, making Elana nod her head in agreement.
“Well, back to your question why your parents didn’t get the boom back from the woman even after they knew she was the one because they believed that she would not do any harm to your mother since she loved her,” Marcus said.
“And the book got lost again.”
