Chapter 34: Chapter 34

Third POV.

"The hell! Who is that who can't let us have the sister's time?" Elana asked as she stood up and walked towards the door.

On the other hand, Leila chuckled upon hearing her sister's words. After all, it's been some time since Elana got mad because of such a stupid thing.

"Bla bla bla. Like you both forgot about me! Even though I am not a girl like both of you, I am your family like daah!" Marcus said as he got into the room through the small space in between Elana and the door.

"Although you are a family, where did you hear that we need you here? Just get out before I throw you out," Elana said as she opened the door wider.

"Babe, how can you do that to me? Don't you love me anymore?" Marcus asked as he pretended to cry, making Leila smile genuinely as she looked at the scene before her.

"Don't babe babe me here. I want to spend my time with my sister so get out!" Elana shouted.

"You don't love me anymore," he said as he shed tears.

Leila was trying so hard to prevent herself from laughing loudly by putting her hand on her mouth to prevent that from happening.

"So what? What are you going to do if I don't love you anymore? No, I don't love and care about you?" Elana asked with a serious tone, making Marcus forget that he was pretending to cry.

"I...I...." he stammered as he knew one wrong word and he would be done for good. After all, Elana was stronger than he was.

Although he stammered and lucked words to say, his lips curved downwards to show how sad he was, tears flowed down while his eyes turned red out of all the crying and he looked downwards as he played with the hem on his shirt.

Anyone who saw him would even think that he had been wronged since he looked so pitiful. Even Leila started to sympathize with him but after remembering that he was just pretending to be pitiful so that the sisters could be merciful to him. Thinking of all that, Leila laughed out loudly.

Seeing her sister laughing out loud and seeming as if she had forgotten what she was talking about, Elana smiled as she looked at her before looking at her mate coldly.

"What are you still doing here? You better stop playing pitiful thinking that you get my sympathy cause you won't," Elana said coldly making Marcus pout and Leila laugh when she saw his expression.

She couldn't help but feel that she was blessed to have such a family. After all, they always make her laugh without even realizing it. She bit her lip when she remembered that she had tried to commit suicide. Looking at the two mates, she knew that they would both be in pain and blame themselves for not protecting and taking care of her well.

She wondered whether they saw her as stupid or mentally challenged because of that. She found herself crying when she thought of that. No one loves to be called any of the names just cause she was at her weak moment and tried to do something stupid.

When Elana and Marcus heard the soft cries they were both shocked since Leila was laughing some seconds ago and they couldn't find what was making her that way. They were both anxious and ran towards her, both on each side of the bed.

"Leila, why are you crying?" Marcus asked panickingly.

To him, even though they weren't blood-related, Leila had become his little sister after staying together for some years.

Elana glared at Marcus before slapping the hand that was holding Leila's right hand.

"Why are you so stupid? Can't you see that she is crying because you interrupted our time?" Elana asked him.

Hearing this, Marcus gulped as he lowered his head.

"Oh, I am really sorry," Marcus said after some seconds of silence.

Not wanting to remind them of those dark moments and make them blame themselves and feel guilty when they aren't supposed to, she wiped her tears before starting to laugh loudly, making Elana and Marcus look at her wondering what was happening to their sister.

"You thought that you were gifted with the gift of act?" Leila said with a chuckle. "Bet I am more professional than you since I fooled both of you."

Hearing that, they face-slapped themselves.

"Hahaha, you thought that we would be fooled by your pitiful play but you were fooled by me. I won," Leila added as she laughed out loudly.

"Now, seeing you have been defeated, get out of the room. You have failed to get our sympathy," Leila said, making Elana chuckle as she looked at her mate.

"Come on, we weren't even competing," Marcus said as she looked at the young girl seated on the bed.

"I honestly don't care as long as I fooled both of you," Leila said with a smirk on her face.

"Girl, you are so lucky that we care so much about you, that's how you got to fool us since we thought something had happened to you," Marcus said as he ran his hand through his hair.

"Ooh, that I know. I am just as lucky as you claim but that luck wasn't on your side," Leila said with a laugh.

"You know. It's not that we don't care about you. Actually, we do a lot. You are just below Elana and above Aiden in my life..."

"Oh. I never thought that I was so special to you. I am very honored," Marcus said after interrupting Leila when she was speaking. He pretended to wipe his tears making the girls roll their eyes but deep down, both Elana and Marcus were pleased with Leila's words.

"Can you now shut up so that I can go on with what I was saying?" Leila asked.

Marcus nodded his head hurriedly as he did the zip the mouth with his hand.

“So, you didn’t get our sympathy 'cause we knew that you were pretending to get it unlike me!”

“Now get out,” Elana said as she dragged Marcus from his seat and towards the room.

“I came to tell you about the book, The Sow of the Blood.”
