Chapter 16: Chapter 16
Leila POV.
As soon as I said those words, I felt all eyes on me. I knew that they doubted me but who would really blame them when I myself doubt myself?
"What did you just say?" Marcus asked making me wonder when he arrived.
"What you just heard," I snapped even though I didn't want to yell at him.
I ignored everyone and concentrated on my sister who was struggling to breath cause of pain.I looked at the wound and my eyes started to widen up as if they were increasing i size and at the same time, I started seeing more clearly. I found my eyes penetrating her skin and I could see how the wound was so deep and whether the sword hard injured her major organs.
"Didn't you just say that you can heal her? Then what are you doing? Just hurry up instead of wasting time!" Marcus shouted interrupt me from what I was doing.
"I think you are also hurt somewhere. Who the hell do you think you are to shout at me? or do you think that she is just important to you and a nobody to me? Maybe I should just remind you since it seems that you have forgotten I am her sister and I can't bear to see her in pain not to mention to lose her. So better watch your tone," my wolf said since she snapped out of anger when she heard his words.
"I...I...no...sorry," he stammered and I rolled my eyes.
Knowing that they might interrupt me from what I was doing once more, I shut myself from them.
I placed my hands on to her heart and closed my eyes. I concentrated on to the light which was calling out to me. The more I felt myself walking towards it, the more I felt the darkness walking to me. I knew the dangers of been caught up with it since that would mean that I lose my sister since I will be unsuccessful in healing her. I panicked as I increased my speed when I was looking whether it was still following me and I found that it had also increased the speed but the difference was that its speed was twice my speed. I felt fear engulf me and I started running fast.
"Ha ha ha. Coward," a voice said from the darkness as they were too close to me.
"I am not a coward," I shouted hastily since I was annoyed.
"My child, let go off the fear. If you continue been in fear then you will lose in this battle and won't be able to save your sister," a voice whispered on my ear making me turn around to see who it was but I found that I was around.
I continued to run towards the light as I tried to understand what the person said. Maybe she is right. Didn't the darkness also increased it speed when I also increased my pace?
"Yes, but its speed should just be equal to ours not twice of it," my wolf said.
"Then why is its speed twice?" I asked her cause I was getting confused.
"It did so since you started panicking but am not sure maybe that's what the moon goddess was trying to tell you," she said. "What if you try to stay calm and we will see.?"
"Okay," I answered and I halted.
I breathed in and out and tried myself to be calm.
"No, it can't be. Why are you not afraid anymore?" a panicked voice asked in the darkness making me smile since what we were thinking was the truth.
I breathed out once more and then started walking towards the light. I saw that the darkness had stopped and my smile widen.
"No, I can't be defeat," it said making me roll my eyes.
I was so close to the light that it was blinding my vision but at this time, I could care less. I didn't run but walked hurriedly and calmly. After sometime, I was standing in front of the light and when I discovered that it seemed like a human figure.
"I have been waiting for you for years. Even though the gift of healing is a blessing, it might also be a curse when used so much without enough care. Always remember, when you are trying to heal a person who is almost dying, the angels of death will always fight you hence depending on whether you win or lose is what will determine whether the person is healed," the figure said.
I found that I was so calm which shocked me so much but her voice was just soothing. I felt a hand on my forehead and felt as if I was absorbing some power since I felt more energetic.
"Why are the rogues after me?" I asked.
"You will know as the time comes, that's what mother says," it said.
"Then why have I been blessed with this gift?" I asked.
"To save your sister," it said.
"Why..."
"You are asking too many questions. You should just leave," it said as it placed it hand on my eyes preventing me from seeing anything.
I later found myself in a mountain and below there was a large sea.
"You need to wake up," my wolf said and I concentrated on myself instead of what I was seeing.
I opened my eyes and I found that I was still seated in front o my sister and she was bleeding profusely.
I concentrated on where my hands were placed, I gathered all the power that was in me and started excluding it, making my hands glow as the light penetrated in her body. Her body started glowing from where my hands were then it spread. I saw all the wounds were closing up as the light reached them. I gave it all since I wanted to heal her completely and I started been exhausted. I tried my best to remain calm and not worn out. Immediately I saw that all her body was glowing and all wounds were closed up making her body seem as if it wasn't hurt at all, I removed my hands from her body. I looked around and saw that everyone was looking at Elana and I shut my eyes then opened them.
I felt a hand embrace me from behind and from the scent, I knew who it was but still I turned around. I looked up and I was meet with Aiden's beautiful eyes. I blinked out of tiredness and I hugged him back and laid on his chest. I listened to his heart beat which was surprisingly soothing me.
"Tired?" I heard his hoarse voice ask making me hum.
He raised up my head making me look at him.
"Are you tired?" he asked as he let me go making me frown.
"Yeah," I said softly as nodded my head also.
"Ouch," I said after I felt my head throbbing after nodding it.
The pain increased and started feeling dizzy making me remove my hands from his neck and held my head as I screamed out loudly.
"Ai... Aiden, What's wrong with her?" I heard Aurora's voice ask.
"What..." I tried to concentrate on what Aiden was saying but I couldn't keep up.
I closed my eyes as I tried to get rid of the pain but instead it became more intense.
"Even though you are a healer, you can never heal yourself. The gift of healing is a blessing and also a curse. Never use all your energy or you may end up losing your life," a voice said but I couldn't recognize it even though it sounded familiar.
"Aiden," I murmured as I staggered and fell down as darkness blinded my vision.
