Chapter 15: Chapter 15

THIRD POV.

The ground was shaking vigorously that people were falling down one after the other when it also started cracking.

Seeing this and hearing his mate's cries and scream, Aiden was shocked and still afraid. Thinking that she was in danger or that they had successfully gotten her, he killed the person he was fighting with mercilessly by slicing off his head. He held the sword firmly as he started running to the direction of the screams without caring what was happening with the nature. All he thought was only one thing. To save his mate.

The ground started cracking before him, making him be confuse and tremor a little as he wondered his next step.

Taking steps back, he felt someone behind him thus he suddenly stopped making the person halt also. He stood there expressionless and held his breath as he listened to the man's breathe. After a couple of seconds of listening and been motionless, he held his sword tightly as he raised it up. Since the blade was so sharp and cleaning the middle, he positioned it, diagonally as he stared at it dangerously. Through it, he saw where the man was standing and what he was doing.

The man behind stood the motionlessly but was trembling with fear. He knew that the man in front of him since the throne king and was no less than their leader back in their hideout. He had once fought with him and knew the strength. From what he saw when the king the king was fighting, he knew that his strength was terrifying and to him, he deserved to be the king. He wished that he wasn't a rogue, that he had a pack, family and friends who loved him and made him be strong cause love makes one stronger.

He wondered where he got the courage to stand up and go after the king to kill him. Maybe he wanted his leader to recognise and give his a higher position or to get other benefits. His stupidity will lead him to death which would befall on him soon, that he could tell.

Thinking of this, the man took steps behind hurriedly without caring what was behind him. Seeing the man retreating, Aiden vowed that he won't let him escape from death that day, he moved in a swift manner but faster making it hard for the enemy to predict or see the danger that he is in. In less than the minute, Aiden, lifted the sword as he turned around piercing the enemy's heart and blood oozing off.

Knowing that the guy will die soon, he didn't bother on harming him once more but turned around and started running. Using his eyes, he predicted the distance he was forced to run so as to be able to jump on the other side since the ground had divided the parts. After successfully jumping, he paused a little while later continued running. The earthquake was becoming more severe and it was when he discovered what was going on. Increasing his speed and killing any ma on his way, he later arrived at the horrific scene. He let out a sigh after he discovered that it was not his mate who was hurt but that didn't mean that he was happy to see her crying that loud.

Leila, was holding her sister while screaming and crying while Aurora was just there gazing at one place as if she was trying to think what happened or is happening. The men who were fighting them had already fallen down due to the ground shaking and the fact that they were not expecting it to happen. Even if there wanted to capture the girl who they were sent to kidnap, they knew for sure that it would be impossible to run away while the ground was still shaking and the tree had already started falling down one after another in the passing minute.

They wondered what was going on but after a while, everyone noticed that the more Leila, cried and screamed, the vigorous the earth shook. After discovering the fact and knowing that if she continued the buildings will start collapsing and people who were hiding in their house will die and everything will be ruined, Aiden knew that he had to calm his mate very fast but that didn't mean that he didn't know that if the ground stop shaking, the enemies will continue ambushing them till they get hold of what they had come for.

Looking at the men who were surrounding them coldly, he raised up and started cutting the heads who weren't looking at him. He also noticed that a lot of them had already fallen down and it was only two men beside them who were still alive. When the men, discovered that the king wanted to kill them, they struggled to stand up and hurriedly ran off. When the other rogues who had accompanied them saw their leaders running off, they took it as a clue to also escape from the kingdom before the ground kills them all. They were all for sure that the girl whom their alpha wanted was so strong but they were terrified since they wondered how they will one day be able to succeed in the mission.

Seeing that the rogues were running away, some warriors got courage and start killing them when they weren't expecting the attacks. Due to this, only a few of the rogues were able to run away. They had come as a group of more than two hundred but those who had survived were less than ten.

Noticing that they had managed to get rid of the rogues, the king, slowed got on his knees and took his mate in his embrace. Noticing the familiar scent, Leila looked up while still crying before hugging her mate back but still looked at her sister who was still lying down.

"A...ai...den, m...my...sis...sister," she said with hiccups as she cried.

He was heart brokem to see that his mate was suffering in pain. He wanted to help her but he was currently confused on what to do.

"Ssh..sh... don't cry," he said softly trying to soothe her but his efforts bore no fruit since she started crying out loud again.

He sighed secretly since he found it a difficult task but that didn't mean that he gave up. He knew that he was just crowned as the king and if his mate would be the reason the people of the kingdom died because of the earthquake, he might be prevented to carry his duties as the king. His task was to provide protect to every werewolf and he had to do it no matter what.

"Ssh, please stop crying. Looking around and see. The more you become sad and agitated, the more the ground shakes vigorously," he told her as he patted her back.

Hearing this, Leila looked up at him in disbelief before she turned her gaze to the surrounding.

Her eyes widen as she saw the state the kingdom was. It was far from the magnificent kingdom that had amazed her. She later noticed that went she stopped crying, the ground stopped shaking but when she started to worry about her sister and crying again, the ground started shaking once more.

She shook her head since she knew that that may leave some families broken and she didn't want any family to be broken because of her. She knew the pain of losing a family member and didn't want anyone to go through what she had gone through. Also, she didn't want people to always fear her as she tried to get close to them. With all of these thoughts running on her mind, she stopped crying.

"She is still breathing but it is so faint, we need to take her to the dispensary quickly so that we may save her," Aurora's voice brought her back from her thoughts making her turn her attention to her sister's face.

"No, I can heal her," Leila said.
