Chapter 117: Chapter 117
Third POV.
“Leila, are you sure you want to do this?” Amaya asked as she was confused and at the same time nervous.
“Yeah. I am tired of living and doing according to what grandma wants. I am fed up!” Leila answered as she walked in the forest lazily and as if she was at her home.
“That doesn’t mean you risk our lives! What if we die before we get a chance to do anything?” Leila’s wolf voiced out making Amaya agree with her.
“She is right, you know. We are still young and we should live our lives to the fullest,” Amaya added.
“And we will. Do you guys think we will have any freedom even if we don’t do this?” Leila asked them.
Sensing their silence, she rolled her eyes but she did not dare cuss at them.
“We will always live in fear. We will always feel suffocated and hurt everytime we see people having friends to spend time with. We are just unwanted and we better get used to that,” she added in a low tone but they could feel sadness in her voice.
“Leila,” they called out softly, making her shake her head.
“It's so funny. People think that gods can do anything they want. Have the life they want. Have anything under their control but I am always under grandma's control. Sometimes I envy Elana, she isn’t under her control and can do anything she pleases but me,” Leila said as she sniffed.
“Why couldn’t grandma select one of her creations, give her powers so that she can protect her creations? Why does it have to be me? Why can’t I have a say in my life? Why is my life always a mess? Why do people hate me and always reject me? Am I that bad?” Leila asked as she choked.
“Leila, you are the best person and partner we can ever need. They may not see your worth, value but we do. You don’t have to always cry because of them. They are just weaklings and they don’t deserve us,” Amaya said, making Leila’s wolf nod her head while Leila chuckled.
“I grew up here. Among werewolves. I have seen people getting their mates. Some who were suffering and felt unloved feel content and loved when they find their mate, their soulmate, their true love. I desire that you know. Although I am not a real werewolf, can’t I also find love? Why is it that everytime I start letting someone into my fall, lowering my guard and start falling in love I always get hurt? Why? Why?” Leila asked as she started crying.
Amaya and the wolf didn’t know what to say to comfort her. All they could do was realise the peace energy to flow in Leila’s body so that she can find peace within herself and calm down.
After some hours of Leila crying, she stopped and calmed down but her breathing rate was high.
“Can we now go back?” the wolf asked as she was afraid of staying in the woods when they were alone.
She felt that something would happen, thus she wanted to escape from here as soon as possible.
“No. Can both of you lock yourselves?” Leila asked them, making them confused as they didn’t know what she wanted to do.
“Why?” Amaya asked as she wasn’t willing to give up the control so easily after experiencing what it felt like having total control although they were just sharing it.
“I want people to think I am weak. See me as innocent that I can’t bring any hurt to them,” Leila answered.
“People? Do you think anyone in the kingdom will believe you? They have already seen your true power and strength thus you better stop dreaming,” Amaya said as she rolled her eyes.
“I never said that it is the kingdom,” Leila retorted.
“Then who are you talking about, mh?” her wolf asked as she felt Leila was behaving unusually weird.
“The rogues of course. As you know, apart from the rogues who escaped during the king’s coronation who had seen the result of my yelling, the other rogues haven’t seen my true strength thus I might as well make them believe that my darkness is still dormant! I have no strength at all!” Leila explained as she knew that they wouldn't let her be till she told them what she was planning.
“Don’t tell me you are going to confront the rogues alone,” Amaya said as to her, Leila was taking a huge risk.
“I am not going to confront them! What I am doing since walking towards the rogues territory. When they see someone close to their territory, they will obviously ambush and take me in as their captive. When they ask how I got there, I will just tell them that I lost my way when I was on the run,” Leila told her.
“That’s risky. What if they opt not to release you afterwards?” her wolf asked in panic as she felt Leila had become more stupid than before.
“That’s what I want. For them to hold me captive and throw me into their cells!” Leila said, shocking them.
“Are you crazy? What if the elders who had been kidnaped have already told the rogues that you have full control of your darkness and powers?” Amaya asked immediately.
“That’s why I told you to lock yourself and pretend that you are still asleep. You are still dormant that you have never been activated. There is something I want to confirm there and it might help us greatly if I am right about it,” Leila said, making Amaya roll her eyes.
“Let me remain silent and try not calling you a fool! As you said, it would help as greatly if it is true then what if you are wrong? What if instead of our strength, speed and power increasing significantly, we lose them?” her wolf asked.
“The people in the pack already know that I am out of the kingdom therefore they will ran a search to find me. If they fail, they will automatically know that I am being held by the wolves. Do you know why I should now instead of the previous days? It is because everyone’s strength in the kingdom has increased. If they ambush the rogue, there are chances of us winning. And if they really attack just to get me out, maybe this will be the last war. We can wipe off the rogues and the so-called blood relatives,” Leila explained, making them understand what she really was after.
“Sshh. Someone is coming. Amaya, go lock yourself. Also please don’t try messing my plans up.”
